After a week of chasing payment from this company it appears i have possibly been paid. I got a phone call tonight from [name removed] to give me a receipt number for the outstanding amount due to my finance company. It was only after their director received a phone call from the brilliant lady at the office of fair trading today that anything seems to have shifted. I had just followed her advice and paid the fee to ASICS to get the address of this company to lodge a letter of intent for legal proceedings against them.
I still wont believe th...
Stay away from WBAC. They will offer you half the online quote and then don't pay! Look around at the reviews from other people. It seems no one gets their money. I have lodged a complaint with Fair Trading. I have been waiting 5 weeks with no phone calls or emails returned. Very shonky operators.
They don't pay up!
Get into it quick
My boyfriend sold his car to this "company" two weeks ago. On the day we sold it (after we sold it) I decided to do some research because the experience left me feeling unsure. It made me unsure beause when they were "calling car dealerships"staff were instead standing by chatting to each other. They didnt check the car out properly and only gave us a decent price when we indicated that we knew how much the car is worth. So on that day I read all of these reviews and became very disheartened. The hardest part had been waiting the 10 working day...s and wondering if we too aren't going to be paid. So, today is working day 10. No payment. I am not going to let them run us around for months on end. So I called them today and the girl I spoke to was very rude and condescending. I asked for the direct accounts number and got given a false number. I called back and threatened to report the car as stolen if we don't get any answers by the end of today. She "emailed" accounts for me letting them know to contact us. Before she "emailed" them, she did say that I'm unreasonable for expecting payment "so quickly" in the ten days (even though they are the conditions that THEY gave me) and also stated that I cant believe everything bad I read about them. I think I can believe it when we are experiencing the same problems. Since I can't see us getting the money by the end of today, as of tomorrow they have breached contract. I would prefer to get the car back instead of chasing people for money. So we are going to the police station this weekend and reporting it stolen. I think the best way to go is to get onto it quickly otherwise they are going to try and convince me different. This is very annoying.
Are not being completly honest.
Stay away from these guys!
They are a very dodgy bunch. I got paid late. It is only because I made at least 20 calls and pestered anyone and everyone that I even got through to someone who was prepared to do the right thing and pay up. Be warned. Their game seems to be to take your car, wait until they have sold it and then decide to pay you in their own time. Do not believe a word of the 10 day payment garbage they will spout at you. It is very unlikely that they will pay you on time. We’ve been in contact with A Current Affair who told us...that these guys are being investigated in Qld, NSW and Vic. My worry is that they are going to collapse in a heap and anyone who has left a car with them will lose their money. Watch out. I’d suggest that if someone wants to buy your car and they are serious, they’ll give you a bank cheque on the spot or at least a deposit and a firm commitment in writing to pay by a given date. This bunch do not do that. Please heed my advice. They paid late and did not deal in an honest and up front manner once they had our car.
What a joke
On the 15th June 2012 I took my car to sprindwood branch of we buy any cars.
I signed a contract that day and was told the money would be put into my account within 10 working days on the condition that I left my car with them that day. After 11 working days I emailed the Springwood branch chasing my money only to be advised it had all been handed to accounts of the 15th and the money would be processed in the following few days.
I waited again until it had been 15 working days and called the accounts department myself. During this call ...I was told that my payment was missed. I called again the next day to ask what was going on with my payment only to be advised that Wai, you had advised me my payment was missed had actually been incorrect (or didn't have the guts to tell me) and that my payment hadn't been made due to the fact they had major banking issues the previous week. My payment has been marked as a priority and should be made that night. I continued to call daily only to hear the same BS. I continually asked to speak to a manager only to be informed "Tash" was in a meeting until 5pm and would call me prior to 6pm. Magically I am still awaiting a call back from the mystical Tash. On Thursday of last week I received a call to advise me that my payment would be made in the next half an hour and they would call me back with my receipt. I never received the call. I called again on Friday morning and spoke to the same woman who then denied ever saying that, even though my whole office heard the conversation.
Lousy price offered.
Apart from the lousy price offered after bring offered a lot more to get me there. You do not get paid. Obviously they try to sell the car before paying for it. Part of Karland and Highway Group. Duds. Stay away, there are better ways, try large specialist consignment dealer.
Friendly service - got my money
Rang around to some wreckers about my 1990 VN Commodore automatic, wasnt going to get much more than $200 for it, and we buy any car rockdale was closer than any wreckers, so took it to them.
The online valuation was around $850, I was only hoping to get around $350 anyway, so i went there knowing I wouldn't get much.
Paint was gone, engine was in great nick, had 5 months rego, only surface rust present, ceiling trim was drooping etc etc..
The sales guy said he'd give me $150, but I noticed there was a $50 fee, so I said if you give me $150 ...
Shocking place. Terrible customer service
I just bought a new car as of 2 weeks ago and had to get rid of my old one. I wasn't expecting much as it is a 1994 model with plenty of K's on it. The Wreckers offered me $350 for it, which I was happy to take. But to make sure I contacted webuyanycar and they quoted me $1500. I thought this was a bit excessive because I would of been happy with anything between $300-$500. So today I drove it an hour to the dealership. I had an appointment for 2pm and din't get seen till 2:50pm. My first impressions when walking in were. "Wow they just look li...ke snobby sales people in flashy suits that don't know anything about cars". Well I wasn't wrong... They had no idea! i was treated terribly and only offered $200 for the car. They didn't even apologize for giving me a false quote or anything. Just said that's the price, take it or leave it. well you can shove that price. Webuyanycar = Rude, stuck up, arrogant, misleading and didn't have a clue about my car. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Go to a Wreckers and take their money! Or try and sell it else where.
They don't pay!!!
It's been 4 weeks and keep getting told the pay was processed yesterday and should be in there but no money in my account. After numerous phone calls to these scavengers I've been trying to contact the manager for 4 days and the same excuse about "being in the city for a meeting". I threatened with the police to come and get my car and told them to call me back in an hour to tell me to tell me my car is there and not even 10 mins later get a call back saying my car will be returned from Melbourne on the truck in 2 days at the Blacktown office a...nd to come and get it. These blokes are dirty scum who should be shut down immediately. I thought it was just my payment until I found this review page and now I know it's heaps of us being ripped off! They don't pay up!
What a waste of time
Decided to sell my car using We Buy any Car, thought it would be a good way to do it, not having to stuff around with potential buyers, Road Worthy Certificates and what not. Got the online quote of $6300 and thought that's not too bad and was prepared to drop $2000 from that. They offered be $2100 what a joke, staff were a pushy bunch of tools. I drove 4 hours for them to tell me that my car was only worth $2100 and then when I said that I will keep the car and drive it 4 hours home they got really angry and even more pushy. I would like to wo...rn everybody that this company are playing on the fact that you are already there offering sub wholesale market prices. I argued with the sales guy that their online price was [censored word removed] and he tried to tell me that it wasn't, I laughed in his face and walked out. Do not sell your car with these people, they are rogues and by the look of the other reviews they will take your car and you will probably never see any money. I'm just glad I decided to walk away and retain my vehicle.
What a waste of time!!
I got an online quote from 'we but any car' of $9000. I drove all the way to altona (with baby in toe) and had to wait 30 mins after my appointment. The quote I got was $4500!!!! Half of what I was quoted! I was also made out to be a 'fool' for my high expectations of value - I know how cars are valued and recently the car was fixed for hail damage, the repairs costs at least $6500 and the ins company didn't class that as a 'right off' - the car is definetly worth more than the measly amount 'we buy any car' offered me. Had they advised me that they offer the 'wholesale value' of the car OR they had given me the wholesale quote I would not have bothered making the 2 hr round trip!! Very disappointed!!
Well wish I read this site before went there is just a lot of hassles dealing with this company anything but stress free after my 10 days I just had a feeling wasn't going to be paid so made a visit to the branch a demanded some answers and got some story and some phone numbers so rang them gave my details and said they would ring back which they didn't kept ringing they all gave me the run around so went back to dealer and he gave me another number which he also said the money will be in the next day which didn't hapPen eventually the lady ran...g back from accounts and money was put in account after threats of reporting this company so in all a bad experience you will not be paid in time and expect alot of running around with this mob don't use this mob unless u can wait about 4 weeks Didn't get paid in the 10 days they said
Give me my money!
Like many of the comments left here I totally agree. Had organised with the salesman Josh Grant, to have my car finance paid out by X date...this was a verbal contract....otherwise I would cop another lease payment. Guess what paymnet has not come through ! Spoke to Josh - sales / Skye Acoounts and was told the Customer Service Manager would ring me to discuss and they would pay me back any costs i had incured ! Get it in writing.....No one has called me back - 6 calls over two weeks - promises promises...
I am going down there personally to make my case - get something in writing and warn other potential We Buy Any Car victims to stay away !
Everything! Office did not even have a working light.
Do not sell your car to them.
Sold my car to the dealer in Altona, been 4 weeks still haven't received the funds.
No one ever returns calls. I am in the process of arguing continually as I want my vehicle back.
Do not use them!! Also totally unhappy with the amount I sold my car for.
They are just a middleman!
I filled out the online quote for my 2007 Mazda 6 and got $12'600. Whilst the amount was low I was desperate to sell so made an appointment expecting to get thereabouts this amount. On arrival they ask what you want for the car then proceed to call around to used car yards seeing what offers come in. Anyone knows car yards will offer 30% less so they can make a profit. If I knew that I wouldn't of bothered. Don't be fooled into thinking this is anything more than your local car yard because it is not!
Service was poor. I only received $100 for a car that was evaluated for $933 on their website. there was no negotiation possible not even a $50 increase and i was only allowed to get what they offered!!! waste of time, never go with them you never win!!! I would never recommend them ever! Plus there is a $50 administration fee per sale that isn't told until after the 'deal' has been made! Please don't sell you car to them!
The lowest form of human kind
Read a big advertising spiel in carsguide about these jokers saying they could better trade in prices. Anyway, was offered $23000 trade in for my car and thought, why not give it a go? Got an online valuation of $21500 or so plus 10% for booking in a valuation within 7 days. Rang to see why the valuation was lower than what I was offered and was told the computer can't see the condition of the car or the extras on it, bring it in and we'll look at it. Took it in and was immediately brought back to earth with the dodgy backyard setup complete wi...th the shifty Gordon Farkas style manager cruising around chain smoking and talking on the phone a lot. Waited half an hour after my appointment before anybody actually bothered to come and see me, only to be hit with a barrage of insults such as gee, it needs a good detail and a half, hasn't been loved much etc. Oh well, it's a work ute, for work on work sites. The girl had a look over it and was obviously new to the game seeing as she told me it was a manual (it's auto) and she was trying to tell me it was 4500 overdue for a service (it's got 4500 to go to the next service). Anyway she asked how much I want for it and I told her about the $23000 trade in, beat that and it's yours. After a lot of note taking and then going over and talking to Gordon Farkas, she came back with a figure of $11000. No thanks, she asked if she was close and I asked if she thought $11000 was close to $23000, she said no but we can negotiate a bit. That was when I left. To all you slippery little turds leaving positive reviews, a bit of advice, If you give 5 stars, it's a bit of a giveaway that you work for the company considering all the others reviews. Try to give a more average review of say 3 stars and build it up from there. It is the lowest form of life that prays on the most vulnerable. Pretty much everything
Misleading Sales Pitch, Horrible Service
Absolute waste of time.
I got an online valuation for my vehicle for $12500 based on national averages of my make and model of car, but was informed the final value of my car is based on the 'quality' of my car (fair enough). A lady called me later that day and suggested I take it in to get it looked at, which I was quite reluctant to at first but she assured me I won't regret it.
After waiting 45 minutes for the disorganised salesman at the Strathfield branch, they said my car was quite 'common' and could buy one for $8000 instead. My of...fer turned out to be $5000-$6000. All they use is the cheap redbook valuation on carsales.com. I just left. Spoke with the salesman for literally 5 minutes. Extremely regret coming in, and appalled by the horrible service and misleading sales tactics from these guys. Online valuation is extremely misleading, waste of time, service was disgraceful. I dont see how they are reputable enough to have a radio ad
To the point/ Informative
I have had my VE SS Commodore for sale on Carsales for over a month and got pretty tired of 'tyre kickers' and scammers claiming they are oil rigs wanting PayPal accounts, so I thought give webuyanycar.com.au a go and see what sought of money they can offer. I found the staff very professional and didn’t waste my time with the usual car sales tactics. Unfortunately they we unable to get to the price I was hoping for but I certainly have a better understanding of what my car is really worth in the market. If my car isn’t sold in the private market in the very near future I will definitely revisiting webuyanycar.com.au
Informative, good customer service, professional
Didn't match the price I was hoping for
Wish I'd read reviews...
The reviews seem to be extremely accurate. The online quote was twice what they offered when I took the car to them. Finally agreed to a price obviously a lot less than I was expecting. Gave them my bank details, waited a couple of weeks to get paid and have now been chasing them for a month. In that time they have returned my calls once.
Web site quote is fiction, Wonder if they pay anyone
Questions & Answers
So who owns the cars that We Buy Any Cars have sold if they have not paid the previous owner?
From what I've heard from others a lot of the cars have already been sold to other people even though somehow they're still registered to the previous owners who've copped fines and such by the new drivers/owners. I was told my car would most likely be shipped interstate (outback) to be used as a hire car for tourists in the outback as it wasn't in good condition. The only smart thing I did was go down same day and cancel my Rego and hand my plates in so I could get a refund, otherwise god only knows what fines and such would be in my name. Unfortunately so many others weren't so lucky. Because their car has somehow been onsold even though its still registered in their names they've lost their car, money and are still making loan repayments and now fines.
If they took the car and haven't paid, then they haven't completed their part of the contract - ring and ask for your car back.
If they don't produce the car call the police and report the car stolen.
Just done that, good advice
Ring manhiem to see if car is there if it is tell them the car has not been paid for they will put a hold on it as you can use your claim of right to get the car back that is from the police
People trying to coantact We Buy Any Cars should click on to the adv link for their Qld branch it has a 1300 # which is still being answered as of 01.08.2012.
