This review is for the bbq (3200q) itself, which is very poor quality. I would never buy another Weber product again and would not recommend it. The hotplate cracked, and several steinless parts rusted through, as well as the burner tube. Apparently from heath! They wouldn’t replace the cracked hotplate because we were unable to provide an invoice for it. The other parts were covered under the warranty, but the burner is out of stock in Nz. In all aspects, despite all research - this unfortunately has been a very disappointing purchase.

Disappointed and a cleaning nightmare.
Not straight forward to set up from instructions. Looks attractive. So far have cooked steaks, prawns, salmon, chicken and whilst the results are ok, the taste doesn't justify the cost of the BBQ. The real problem is cleaning after use. This is a total nightmare which involves a lot of recommended cleaning product, scrubbing and exorbitant amount of time. Regretful buy.

Good but should be better at this price
- Made in China
- No Window to see inside
- Gril Plate not included (another AUD $70.00)
- Drip Pan not included
- Assembly instructions are not straight forward (2 friends also didn't understand tray must be inserted before adding legs).
- Assembly will require 2 hours.
- Some writing on knobs has rubbed off after wiping the knob with tea towel.
Purchased in December 2020 for $799.00.
Excellent looks stylish under the alfresco
Cooked Christmas turkey, roasted pork and so good for a breakfast fry up.
Easy to clean using all accessories that are available to purchase.
No problem as it has an excellent lid.
Purchased in August 2019 for $750.00.
Good but limited use
The family q is great for steaks and cooks great veggies! I find it too limited in its height (can't do beer can chicken) and doesnt have a wok burner which i use a lot.
Roasts aren't as good as the old school kettle weber using coals!
I wouldn't replace my 4 burner or kettle with it but it's a good addition to my BBQ collection!
Operating the Family Q
Not totally excited about my new Weber Family Premium Q especially when cooking pizza. I have purchased all the Weber “stuff” ( trivet, tray & stone) and tried homemade dough ( mother in-law is Italian) and pre- purchased pizza bases from a local guy but no real success. Aske Weber Aus/NZ fir advise but nobody responded!
Q: it appears you have to light both burners to start with then you can turn the center one off?
Purchased in September 2020 at Weber for $799.00.

Has some good features - but nothing really exceptional
We've had a Q3200 for about 18 months - it was our first gas Weber though we've had Weber kettles before. We've used it regularly as a normal bbq and for roasts, vegetables and pizzas since buying.
First off - people who say food tastes better etc when done in a Weber don't in my opinion know what they're talking about. Care in preparation and how you cook the food are what give you a good outcome - not the bbq brand so long as you get something reasonable.
Things to note about Q series are:
1. There are two types - the premium (like the Q...3200, Q2200 etc) which have a slightly higher hood, temperature guage and electronic starter, which are only sold in some outlets, and then the standard version (Q3100, Q2100 etc). RRP for the 2 versions is not much different, but standard version you can often pick up with a 15% or 20% discount. When I was buying mine, I went to 3 outlets and all 3 sales staff looked me in the eye and solemnly told me that I would never see a premium Q3200 discounted in Australia. (Time for the ACCC to look at this?). 2. Good points are that it's easy to start and quick to get going because of smaller volume under the hood. It's easy to clean because the shape, and uses less than half the gas that other 3 or 4 burner hooded barbeques will use. Heat distribution appears reasonably even. Also looks well made with no obviously cheap components apart from all the plastic in the stand and elsewhere - so I'm expecting it to last a bit longer than a $400 hooded bbq available elsewhere. It's also compact - if you don't have much room on the deck or balcony then the Weber may be ideal. Warranty period and support are both good.

My Weber Q is one of the best purchases I have ever made. It cooks all foods really well, and the pizza stone is a must-it cooks pizza to perfection and this is what we cook the most on the Weber. WE have cooked roasts on it as well and for this the best accessory is a meat thermometer. For other food like sausages/meat we use a BBQ mat for ease of cleaning but on the odd occasion we did not have the mat then yes, there was more a mess to clean, but one of the great things about having a Weber is the grills- they are not so massive you can't l...ift them-so we simply remove and soak them in a bucket with detergent overnight and they come clean. the rest of the Q is fairly easy to clean with BBQ spray or wipes and Weber tells you how often to clean the BBQ as well. It copes fairly well in the wind as the lid is quite effective. We have it under cover so rain isn't a problem for us, but just close the lid and it shouldn't be a problem.

Stop looking....this is it.
These are quite expensive but they are a quality built product. I have had mine for years, in fact I also have baby Q for camping and small cook-ups.
Great cooking flavours on the cast iron grills and they have cleverly designed it so that the fat does not drip on the flames so as they say, no flare ups...and that is true. Great for cooking roasts (fast or slow) with the lid down.
Very convenient cooking, great quality build and tasty food.

We LOVE our Webber Family Q
we use this awesome BBQ nearly every night to cook dinner. In summer it's a God send as we cook outside. My husband, who thinks he can cook, does really well cooking anything, spuds, roasts, fish anything. Best money we have ever invested. There is only 2 of us so the Baby Q may have been big enough but when the tribe get together there is 13 of us, so the bigger the better.

Questions & Answers
I have a Family Q and the middle burner is starting to get clogged and I have tried to keep them unclogged using a paper clip. Can you advise a better way to do this so that this does not become a fire potential fire hazard or does the burner need to be replaced. The outside burner ring is perfectly clean.
Hi Dean, we would best recommend to give your burner tube a thorough clean by removing them from the cook box (when the barbecue is cold) and soaking them in hot soapy water. This will help to remove any stubborn build up which may be in the burner tube. Once you have soaked them you can once again clear the hole with a paper clip as you have been doing.
If this still persists please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org or via 1300301290 and we can help with any further trouble shooting or assess if you do need new burner tubes.
Can you use a Weber q grill pan with trivet instead of the convection tray and trivet
