Problem with fan
Just after the warranty period the fan started to make a screeching noise, we ignored it for a year until it was unbearable. I contacted Electrolux and they agreed to repair it despite the warranty having expired. I believe this issue has been rectified on all new ovens. The level of service we received was first class and i would purchase Westinghouse again. Problems arise but what counts is how it is dealt with.
Almost last gas oven available in Australia
This one is my third gas wall oven in18 years and I am not totally satisfied. In first one (Westinghouse brand) glass door blown up, then thermostat stop working. Second oven, same brand - thermostat stop working twice. I only purchased same brand as it fits same space in kitchen cabinet. This third time I was trying to find different brand but it was too difficult. The only other brands NOT Westinghouse were from Europe. Following the trend to buy Australia Made I purchased again Westinghouse :( Problem with this one is the air vents are loca...ted at the front and during baking all warm air escape through the front door into your house. Imagine baking during hot summer days !! Previous gas ovens had vents designed to direct hot air into the roof via back hole in the wall. Also the hot air escaping the oven door is heating the top steel panel of your oven where all knobs are, and this is a safety issue I think. Anyway NOT the best design for a gas oven. Apart from that fault the oven is good with grill conveniently located at the top, but it is electrical. Basically there is no choice, here in Australia they are not making many gas ovens. Most of the wall oven are electrical and if you consider running cost it is simple NOT economical.
great basic oven
oven is good except that the top burners are really hard to clrean and the inside door is also really hard to clean. This oven is good because it has the timer and it looks really sleek in your kitchen with stainless steel. i cant really fault it but still new

Reliable Oven and Looks Good Too
Initially I was very hesitant to purchase another Westinghouse oven because the previous model had issues with the door failing over time and not closing properly. However, I really liked having a separate grill and went shopping for an oven with the same dimensions and with a separate grill. Found the new improved version so bought it and I am very happy with it. Easy to use, looks good and the issue with the door has definitely been addressed as it is much more solid and closes perfectly. Would highly recommend.
So Far So Good
These days we have very little confidence is electrical appliances despite how much is paid but as this one is only 9 months old we have to give it the benefit of the doubt (for now). After 15 odd years with a previous Westinghouse we decided to go again when the old one kicked the bucket & we couldn't get parts any more - as we wanted a wall oven, with a separate grill and wanted to match our colour scheme we were also limited in our choices. We bought in stainless steel & black however using the grill has discoloured the area above to a motle...y brown (cleaning after each use made no difference). There seems to be a problem with many grills and this one is no exception....the possible danger of children pulling the tray out and it tipping hot fat on them - so you need to be on your toes. The oven cooks well but is difficult to clean - then again, what oven isn't?
Westinghouse underbench oven with separate grill
This is the second Westinghouse underbench oven we have had and is one is a much more feature rich oven the the preavious one but still has the seperate grill. While it has the same fan forced main cooking element there is an exposed top element and a covered base element also. It is early days but the early baking experience is great.
Still very happy with oven, cooks exceptionally well. The seperate grill is great but it did break. The bracket that supports the tray at the rear the spot well came away. Didn't bother with warranty, but I am sure it would have been covered OK, I just touched it with the welder and it is perfect.
PS. My daughter has the wall version with the under grill/small oven combo. Great.
Quality going down
We purchased a similar Westinghouse oven in 2008 and based on our experience with that oven we decided to purchase the WVE655S in 2016 for another kitchen renovation. Another driver was that Westinghouse manufactures locally (Adelaide, SA) and I like to support local industry when I can. The first oven we received was crushed on the corner, the whole oven was out of alignment. The retailer said that this sometimes happens when they don't stack the pallets correctly and organized a replacement for us. We have had the oven for around 6 months...and can say that in general the oven works as expected however we have noticed, * when using the oven, the top metal strip around the controls and display can become extremely hot, to the point of being untouchable. * the height (distance between tray and heating element) of the grill seems shorter than the last model. * The heat distribution is quite bad. There is an obvious hot zone in the rear left of the oven, food on this part of the tray starts to burn before the front is cooked. * The grill tray rolls out of the oven body so you have to prop it in using the grill door. (This could be an installation level issue but interesting another reviewer had a similar problem) * This is a comparatively expensive oven and I suspect the pricing is driven by being one of the few ovens with a separate grill. In hindsight, when considering the quality, grill functionality and price I would seriously consider forgoing the grill and purchasing a different brand.
Great oven and grill
We've been using this oven in our new kitchen for the last 6 months. I wanted a oven that could fit under the stove in the cabinetry, as well as have a separate grill. At the time there wasn't much that fit that requirement, it came down to this one and a Chef brand.
I like that there is 3 levels of shelving inside the oven, as well as an indicator light to let you know the oven has reached the set temperature. The grill is a decent size and works well. The only issue I've had is the grill tray doesn't stay totally in place where it should...be when grilling. I've gotten around this by tilting the grill door up approx 35 degrees and this holds the grill tray in place. The Fan Bake setting does a great job with my cakes, pizza bases (there is a pizza setting I haven't tried it yet) baked vegetables and roasts. So glad this oven has turned out well as we didn't have many options to choose from.
Questions & Answers
I think ours is WVE655. It is white and was purchased in 2016. The problem is that it does not bake it the middle very well. A cake for example will bake around the edges but not in the middle. This happens with other food as well. What can be done to rectify this? The oven is being used correctly per instructions.
Whats the difference between the WVE655S and the WVE665W which is the older model ?
