They did what they said!! – Wincrest delivered on what they promised. As a novice "new-builder", my wife & I had trepidations at the beginning e.g. will the price not increase? will they give me personal service & care? will they keep me informed on a daily basis? Will I get value for money? Will they finish on time? Well, I can emphatically say YES to all of the above. The big thing for us was personal service. I had heard that some companies give you the 131 or 1800 number. Leave a message and nobody gets back to you. With Wincrest I had mobile numbers right up to the CEO. They didn't hide or shirk any work. Costs did not move. Everything was up-front, with no hidden extras. If something unexpected arose, I had a call from the Site Manager explaining what was happening. Again, they got on the front foot.

I have no hesitation in recommending Wincrest to any prospective home-builder. In fact, I hope to start my next Wincrest build shortly!!

Wincrest Bespoke delivered value and a great house for my business! – I chose Wincrest Bespoke to construct a house at Putney which was completed in October 2019. I was very happy with the finished product. This is the second time build with Wincrest with the previous one being completed in March 2019. Both houses were loved by the buyers at auction. Wincrest have strengthened their project management systems and I believe they deliver good value for a personal design without the high architectural overheads. The pre-planning team understood what I required and came up with a smart contemporary design. When I had construction issues that I felt weren't getting sufficient attention I was able to escalate and talk directly with Eddie Sothard the General Manager and get them resolved with a flexible approach. Wincrest Bespoke worked for me as a property investor. My partner said she would move into any of the houses we built with Wincrest Bespoke without hesitation.

Had an excellent experience – My first experience with Wincrest Bespoke was excellent from start to finish. My second Wincrest Bespoke house is almost complete and their in-house architectural design team have almost finalised my third. Our first home was brick veneer house on a downward sloping site and we are now building a double brick house which is larger than first one on a level site with a pool against the home, which they have looked after and looks great. The team at Northbridge office are very experienced and work with you and provide a great service. They are a team I can trust to design and build my home on time and on budget. Once in construction, the home moves along every week as planned and construction manager provide update to me regularly regarding progress. There are always some challenges during construction, but we have always worked together to find the best possible solution. I can honestly say I’m grateful to be working with them again and highly recommend them to all my friends and family. Stanley Yip

Run for the hills when it comes to Wincrest Bespoke – We engaged Wincrest Bespoke at Northbridge in mid-2018 to build our forever home on the Central Coast. We were promised a premium service and premium products. The moment we signed up the premium service was over and we were given a main point of contact who promptly gave me a list of tasks to manage directly with our local council (sidenote: it turns out none of these reports she wanted lodged were relevant or necessary and we wasted time and money). After spending many months and many hours on the phone to council, the building certifier, and town planners - our mortgage broker pointed out I was project managing the build, and that in his twenty year career - he'd never heard of anything like this. Additionally when I called to ask for help from Wincrest Bespoke (I'm not a builder or project manager and sometimes needed to clarify the terminology) - I would be greeted with a huge sigh and told how busy they all were and that someone would get back to me in a week or so. I received the same response when I asked for recommendations for fencing, retaining walls, concrete driveway, alarm systems etc.

When it came to picking out our 'premium finishings' we discovered we only had a few choices, they were very basic, and they were certainly not 'premium'. In order to get anything remotely exciting - we had to spend $30K + in 'upgrades'. Our interior designer also rushed us through the whole day, saying she needed to finish up so she could go meet the person installing her new pool.

In terms of the house design, we raised numerous questions repeatedly about our concerns. Not satisfied with being brushed off by Wincrest Bespoke - we sought some independent advice and discovered our build was a tri-level home (this was never explained to us). We also had all the main living space facing the southerly winds from the ocean, all the bedrooms facing the sunny aspect of the property, cavernous rooms that were completely out of scale, things like wardrobes were considered 'extras', and our butler’s pantry was so narrow we couldn't fit the second oven we wanted.

Just before Christmas 2018 a 50+ page contract landed on our doorstep to sign. Thankfully I took time to read it, and work out with all the 'extras' we were $250K over budget. At this point we had decided we wanted to find a new builder, and to redesign the home to suit the property - so we emailed Wincrest Bespoke who suddenly had plenty of time to take our calls and wanted to meet with us. Since we'd been treated poorly for months, I refused to speak to or meet with the Northbridge office. Instead I took a call from the Director of Wincrest Bespoke - a man who had no idea what had been going on, apologised profusely - and promptly forwarded all the reports we'd had commissioned over to me by email (the Northbridge office wasn't going to release them). We lost over $11K and six months in the end but it was worth it.

Fast-forward and we have a new builder who designed a split level four bedroom home, with two living areas, fabulous premium inclusions, and who is coming in $250K under Wincrest Bespoke's budget (they offered us a three bedroom home with one living area and budget inclusions). Not once have I had to contact our local council. All the reports we commissioned they happily used (Wincrest Bespoke refused to use our commissioned reports so we paid them again for something we already had). We're really enjoying the process. The builder spends ample time going over things with us, and we're super excited to be moving in around March 2019.

Hi Rochelle, At Wincrest we are focused on providing high quality custom built designs and service. We listen to our customers and constantly seek to enhance our processes and this review contains numerous inaccuracies that need to be addressed. It is claimed another builder undertook this project at a cost $250,000 below what we quoted. Publicly available council records state the cost of the new build is $600,000, a price higher than ours. You were advised in initial discussions that your blocks slope required a split level home and you accepted this. The design size and outlooks were as you requested. You stated to the design team that you were happy with the design. There were some additional elements, such as approval for a pool and tree removal which were outside the scope of our tender and you were to liaise with the council on these matters. On review of our procedures we have decided that in future we will assist clients in receiving approvals for these issues, even if they exceed our contract scope. Our offer to meet you to resolve these issues was refused. While we do not agree with your representations of how we have dealt with these matters, we apologise for any dealings that have not met your expectations. We wish you all the best with your build.

Just an update on this. We were not advised we needed a split level home, two other builders bought your design layout to our attention when we asked for a second opinion on the house design. We only did this after asking for clarification on our concerns numerous times from Wincrest, and didn't receive any advice.

The unsuitable design became further apparent later as we learned more about the block, the wind direction (southerly breezes from the ocean), best sun in the afternoon etc.

Pool and tree removal were always our responsibility. What should not have been our responsibility was: dilapidation reporting, vehicle access ways, etc.

Although you have taken the time to see the cost of our new build, it's not comparable. Your $600+K quote did not include a kitchen, built in robes, lighting, blinds, driveway, fencing, flooring, security system, or like for like quality inclusions.

I am not going to enter into ongoing debate about this - however I did want to set the record straight regarding our build costs in the hope that my review helps others with their decision making process. Better yet, my hope was that you would investigate the feedback I gave at the time, and improve your services for future builds.

Hi Rochelle, we also want to set the record straight. All of our homes include a kitchen individually designed for our customer. In this instance, you elected to delete the kitchen from the tender as you were supplying the kitchen yourselves and you received a credit for this in your tender. Our quote was for less than $600K. As mentioned in our reply to your original post, we have listened to your feedback and made some changes to our processes. We now provide end to end management with driveways, pools and landscaping. We assist where applicable with reports or applications for works our clients will be completing once they have moved into their new home. With over 30 years building experience, if there is something that may exceed our contract scope we will provide continual support and advice to our clients. The feedback we receive from our clients is that the vast majority are very happy with our collaborative design process, inclusions and pricing. In this instance, we were unable to meet your expectations. Once again, we wish you all the best on your journey. Kind regards, the Team at Wincrest Bespoke.
