Efficient, empathic, professional claim service
I was totally surprised and stunned about my recent claim on my comprehensive policy. I had dealt with other insurers before and was expecting rigmoral and distress. The phone was answered quickly on both occassions I contacted and both female claim customer reps I spoke with were friendly, empathic, professional and efficient. The second rep especially went above and beyond attempting to resolve my issue by contacting both the assessor and repairer involved. She wasn't able to fully resolve my claim (The assessor wouldn't cover the damage ...to my glove box that had sprung open as a result of the impact- so this was definately a negative in my claim process- and also presumed I was lying and I was therefore offended ) - so this may have been a negative post except for Kara Repair centre (wollongong) who actually took it upon themselves to fix the locking mechanism on the glove box with no charge to the insurer or myself. I was estatic and would recommend Kara's Repair Centre and the two female Woolworths customer reps I spoke with - perhaps not the male claims assessor . (:
Unbelievable hassle from start to finish!
When I Made a not at fault claim. At first I was expected to drive my crashed up unsafe car to a panel shop for assessment. When I explained it was not safe to do so as needed to drive over Brisbane with kids in the car a tow truck was arranged. The tow truck took 2 days to come and then it took 5 days to get to the salvage yard and then another week to be assessed then another week for the assessors report to be received by the claims team. All the time I did not know if my car was a total loss or if it would be repaired which hindered me from...buying a new car. Each time I rung I had to repeat myself each time I got a text update I would call to follow up and each person I spoke to told me something different. One said it was a total loss so prepare to buy a new car then the following day I was called with an update to say at this stage we are waiting for the assessors report and couldn’t say it was a total loss until this report was received. Once the car was deemed a total loss I got a text update to say the total loss team would be in touch to finalise settlement they didn’t get in touch so I called them. All the way along I was told my $1000 excess would be waived and when I received the settlement letter the excess had been deducted from the total. I had to call to get this rectified. I finally received the settlement on October 16th. I made the claim 30 September. My settlement figure had outstanding premiums deducted from the total which I agreed to and understood but then to my surprise the following month my premium was deducted from my account for a car I no longer have. So when I called to have this rectified I was told that person would send a action to cancel and refund premium to the relevant team and now a week later no letter confirming policy is cancelled and no premium refunded to my account. Called again to discuss and have this resolved once and for all and now have to wait another 5-7 days for the premium to be refunded but was told the policy is now cancelled. Lost faith, the next premium will probably come out as no one seems to follow through with promises. Worst ever experience with an insurance company ever. They are cheap yes but wouldn’t want to make it claim ever and have left them gone to RACQ as would rather buy more for a decent insurer.
Woolworths have lost a loyal customer!!!
I took out a comprehensive policy with Woolworths about 3yrs ago & I failed to disclose that I was an ex bankrupt & when it came time to make a claim they cancelled my policy & refunded the premium I paid. Fair enough, that was my fault as I completely forgot about it as it was a few years prior to taking out the policy.
I eventually was discharged from my bankruptcy & thought I'd try them again but this time I called & spoke with someone over the phone. I told her what happened, she put me on hold to speak with a supervisor then came back aske...
Check your renewal and 'Agreed' Insured amount
Renewal price was $60 more than online price. Agreed value dropped by 30% and is 1/2 of market value. Woolworths offers agreed value which is far below market value, check your policy very carefully whether first time or renewal. I had 3 policies with Woolworths, I will be taking all of them elsewhere on their expiry. You may pay a little extra elsewhere but at least you will have your car insured for a reasonable replacement value!
My car is ruined!
I’m so disappointed in Woolworths Car Insurance. Never again Will I insure a car with them. During the 2020 Hail Storm that crossed Australia including the inner suburbs of Melbourne, my 2018 Skoda Kodiaq was damaged by hail. I thought it would be a write-off due to the amount of damage done. But they decided to fix it (which I was hoping for as I love my car). Every single panel was damaged, a few doors and cosmetic things needed to be replaced. All was good until I got my car back. They hadn’t even painted the new doors properly as they were...missing layers of paint, still around 10 dents on the car, they had drilled holes in my boot lid causing water damage. Sent it back as I wasn’t happy and then they dented My brand new door and said it wasn’t them. They also refused to replace the boot lid and said the best they could do was rust proof it. My car comes back and my window was smashed, my front rim destroyed and they still hadn’t painted the side of the car or removed any of the dents, so in 4 weeks I don’t think they did anything. So again I ring up and complain so they came out and had a look, agreed with everything I said. Car then went on the back of a tow truck as they said it had to go down to their repairer where it had been repaired all the other times. My car comes back and the side trim is all scratched, a scratch that spans over a metre right through The brand new paint, and lower door trim along with the door handle were falling off. And for some reason, rather than fixing the new doors, they re-painted the other side of the car, now a purple colour, not the manufacturers colour. I now have a brand new car that looks all hotch potch. 2 and a half months without my car, for it to come back looking just as bad is it did. Now I have to get the car fixed myself as Woolworths won’t accept my claim - $13,000 Worth still get fixed. No hire car or anything and I can’t afford to have my car away from me anymore. Do your research and pay that bit extra as you will definitely get a better result. I’ll upload pics tonight. I submitted my claim in January, wasn’t fixed for quite a few months and I’m still not satisfied with the repair job. However everyone that I spoke to was polite and cooperative but still not enough for 2 stars
Terrible communication still have no idea the outcome of locating the driver even though a photo of the plate was given.
Cheap . No return calls no information provided. Terrible service still waiting for a result. Or a call back from the team. Wont ever use woolworths again for insurance or shopping

Lodged a claim and got a quote done where they sent me. They said they would contact me in 3 to 5 business days but sent me an sms after 12 business days (2.5 weeks) saying they would update me in another 5 business days. I sent an sms reply but got no answer. The whole thing is just bad service
Not very professional on phone
I had ppq plates on car and was told I had to travel to pick them up myself instead of simply mailing them back to me, I asked to be re-inbursed for my travel and time to pick my plates up, that's when they tried to sort it out, hope I see my plates again, otherwise they have stolen my plates.
Spent months trying to sort out a claim when my car was stolen and another claim a year earlier for burglary.
In WA the hours don’t suit, so waiting 1/2 hr on hold took up every lunch break and got me nowhere.
Whenever I did get through, no one had a clue what was going on. Incredibly frustrating experience.
Quick approval of accident
20th of October 2020, i was involved in collision with another vehicle. Lucky for me the other person stopped...got on the phone to woolies, pretty much soon after it happened. We both spoke to the customer service operator. As i wasn't at fault, my excess was waived. I took my car into the designated smash repair within an hour or so of the minor crash, when i arrived they just received the job repair job from woolies!!
They took some pictures of the dents and scratches needing fixing and/ or replaced. I explained i was leaving the state by ...

Woolworths is fraudulent!!! Beware
Woolworths commonly offers promotions to lure people into their insurance policies.
Be warned as in my case the gift cards or the promotions that they offer never come.
After searching forums, I have found that this is happening to a lot of people.
When approached about it, Woolworths insurance is not apologetic but rather just denies all.
They are unable to provide any evidence that a card was sent but claim that it was!
Sounds dodgy because it is.
I asked for a refund on my insurance because they had not honored their promotion terms but they offered me nothing and kept denying that they'd done anything wrong. They actually blamed the post as the reason I didn't receive my gift card!!!! Unbelievable!!!
A+ Insurance company that really looks after their customers.
Recently I was involved in a car accident, my beloved car was sadly written off from a collision with another vehicle. I was so impressed by the super prompt service I received from Woolworths. The turn around for the completion of a claim was like none, I've ever experienced...within x9 days following my accident I received my pay out figure with no fuss and hassle free. My whole experience with Woolworths from start to finish was super impressive and truly exceptional. Special mention needs to be said for "Jess Hayward" in complex claims, her...professionalism and dedication to receive the very best outcome without delay for her customer ensured a very stressful suitation into a less complicated one. Unbeatable and very competitive price on policy's and their customer service is impeccable. I believe more insurance companies need to step up their game and follow suit.
Not a reliable insurance provider. Lack of transparency. Not telling the complete picture when it comes to repair. Deciding what needs to be done on the car without fully inspecting the car.
This is a disgrace they ripped me and took my car
They don’t answer phones lie to u and don’t join unless u wanna end up car less they are all liers and terrible people I will never shop there again I’m stuck no car on dialysis
This is perfect.
Your service is excellent. Last night I made a claim, the next morning an Auto body repair nominated by your insurance company contacted me and then they sent someone to pick up my car at my workplace to have a repair. It is actually quick and convenient for the insuree.

Holding a call more than 30 mins.
My first call was holded for over 25 mins and I had to hang up due to other incoming calls.
My second call was holded for over 20 mins again and had to hang up again due to a same reason.
I am calling this insurance company again now and my call has been holding over 20 mins.
I had exactly a same issue when I call to them one month ago.
This is absolutely ridiculous.
I will find a new comprehensive car insuracne company.
Put in a no fault claim over the phone and told them my preferred repairer and they told me it would be an expedited claim. Within an hour my crash repairer called to tell me they had received the claim and could proceed with repairs. Very pleasantly surprised it was that quick. I've made at least three other claims in the past and have always been well informed and never had any issues. I also enjoy getting 10% off groceries once a month for being with them for insurance.
Excellent service for my car repair
I found the service very efficient. The staff were all polite and caring. The claims portal was very easy to use and the staff were prompt at getting back to me. I always felt informed and my repair was excellent. Very happy with all aspects of my claim.
Wonderful and fantastic claiming experience
I have got a fantastic consultation from Ghadah.
I have informed everything and next steps, and I have been touch from the repairer just once I finished the claim. Every step has been processed very smooth and fast. Wow! Thanks
Worst insurance company ever !!
Worst insurance company when you have to make a claim. Get you on technicalities but still take your money monthly. Reject your claim but pay you out the years worth of money you pay what. Absolute crap. Cheap cover yes but not worth it. Do not insure through these people.
Questions & Answers
Got a quote, and it was better than 5 other insurers. However, looking at all the negative reviews, I would have to have rocks in my head if I went with them.
The pricing is so attractive but the cover just isn't worth it in my experience. Any issue with the claims and it takes days to get a reply and they dont seem to want to help. Suncorp insurance seems to be the best cover although its a little pricey
I've been with Youi for quite a few years now and have always had good customer service when I go about renewing my policy. We go through the same dance each year where they send me a policy with the premium increased, I negotiate and get it down a bit and come away feeling like they have done me a favour!
I am sure that many people would be devastated to find out how much their vehicle is NOT worth, mainly because people have a love affair with their vehicle. To find that my Ford Territory Ghia is only worth 4.5K (165K on the clock) and they are asking 11% of that for a premium is a bit of a shock.
I have has the same experience as other people on this site. This is beyond disgusting. I need to find 6 people to start a class action. Would you be interested in joining so it adds more weight and gets media attention? Anyone please private message me.
