Absolutely overpriced. I've been a longtime customer (since 2012) but since my dog was diagnosed with a heart condition a couple years ago, they have increased my premiums to $62 per fortnight from $50 which was unaffordable for us, leading us to cancel. Yes they do process claims reasonably fast. Cust service is mostly good however for the premium cost, can't say I would recommend. Disappointing for a long time customer. Who regulates these price increases?

Best staff so friendly and always helpful
I’ve had my pet insurance with Woolworths for over 7 years now and it’s has been amazing.
Claims are always payed out fast and if I need help with anything the staff on the phone are so helpful and nice.
I’m on a disability pension and without my pet insurance I don’t know if my fur baby would be alive as insurance has saved me so many times as my bills have been huge. His insurance has made it that he can have the best cover and I know Woolworths is there to cover my expenses.
Thankyou so much for the great help and support over the years.
From peanut butter and myself Thankyou.
Yes that’s really my fur baby in the picture.
He’s also my therapy dog and his health is my main concern in life.
Its possible that Woolworths Pet Insurance have had a service overhaul.
I have just had my two claims paid out in a very timely manner. One claim was for around $156.00 and the other around $2200. Within two days of my vet submitting the paperwork I received an sms from Woolworths stating they had received my claim and were assessing it. Both claims were paid within three days. I was also able to log into my account and view progress of the claims. I was very pleased.
Previously I left a one star review and was in the process of finding a n...ew insurer owing to terrible communication and an excruciating claims process. I really hope that Woolworths has been listening to its customers. If my last two claims are an indication of improved service protocol, I applaud you. Ensure you keep up the good work. I will be staying on board.
We joined Woolworths Insurance in 2014 when my two Westies were 8. My male Westie was diagnosed with Diabetes in August 2019 & went blind from Cataracts within a few weeks, it was devastating to him & to us as he was such a active and feisty little fellow. Because of the blindness he became a mere shadow of his former self, it was heartbreaking to see him so lost. He has insulin injections twice a day & at the start Glucoses curves at our Vets every fortnight, now he is just on being regulated. We sought the possibility of him having Cataract s...urgery & after the initial assessment by the Ophthalmologist, we were told he had a 90-95% chance of regaining his vision by cataract removal & insertion of artificial lenses. We submitted a pre approval form to Woolworths, which was approved within a week, so we went ahead with the surgery. Throughout the whole process of treating the Diabetes, and the surgery (which was a complete success) Woolworths have been there for us, quick with the claims process and refunding 80% of our claims. Terrific help with their easy online and telephone enquires and information service. The first few years we had a handful of claims, but this last 6 months it has been full on. Today I received the 80% reimbursement for his surgery. It’s a lot of money for a retired couple, thank you Woolies!
I rang today to update my credit card details and enquire about my pet insurance for my dog and was received by Natasha the customer service representative who displayed excellent customer service skills and took the time to assist and provide professional customer service.Thank you very much Natasha

Check your Certificate of Insurance
I signed up online for accidental injury and illness cover for my perfectly healthy, desexed and vaccinated 5yo Maltese X. My payment for the amount quoted for both types of cover was promptly processed and I was emailed a certificate of insurance.
The certificate specified accident cover but illness cover did not make an appearance. I checked the PDS which states that illness is only covered if illness cover is specified on the certificate of insurance.
Therefore I was not provided both of the two types of cover that I paid for. Legally, I p...
The veterinary provider texts me to advise the claim had been electronically sent. Woolworth's also advised the claim was received fifteen days later I was still waiting for my claim to be paid. I don't find that acceptable. I took out insurance to make certain I could provide care for my pet without putting myself in financial stress. The problem as I see it is that most people will use a card to pay the initial invoice and then rely on a prompt approval and rebate to cover that credit debt in this event the slow rebate meant I had to find tha...t money to pay my card and that was very difficult. The rebate did arrive after my cards due date and the rebate was as expected and I was relieved about that. If the process can speed up I would happily award 5 stars!
Dodgy with paying out claims
Been a customer of Woolworths Pet Insurance for over 5 years and every claim has always been paid out with no issues. My dog then had a skin and eye infection that we had to take to get medications. Total vet bill was $166. However put the claim in, Woolworths decides to split up the claim in two spots and as there is a $100 excess they decided to split the claim and therefore as they have done 2 different claims and halved the amount they are not not paying anything as below $100 and I am out of pocket. $70 per month and the only thing I get reimbursed for is my council fees and the yearly vaccinations. Starting to feel this is not worth it.
Had my policy for 2 years and when I tried to make a claim, it was rejected. Woolworths pet insurance will find any way possible to not pay your claim!! They advised me that my claim for an ear infection for my dog is a pre existing condition because he had an ear infection 3 years ago???? This insurer is only after your money and will avoid paying your claim at all costs, so do yourself a favour and save your money.
Excellent customer service & Fast claim
My dog was diagnosed with final stage kidney failure and undergone a lot of treatment. Woolworths insurance helped us with the fast claims without any delays. It was just a peace of mind. Even after my poor little boy passed away and I had to call up to cancel the policy, the customer service team really showed the sympathy and caring and helped us to put the last claim through. I don’t usually leave any reviews but had to let people know that this is the company really help you out. Highly recommend Woolworths for sure!
Shonky, designed to avoid paying claims. Customer service is terrible, ruthless & have no compassion. Stay away.
Policy 2 years. Attempted to make a claim, and it was rejected unreasonably before even having all of the information. They didn't even bother picking up the phone to discuss.
Struggling to get reimbursed for our single claim.
For the amount you pay its ridiculous what they put you through to get a refund!!
We have made only this claim that is under $200 for our pet dog in 2 years of being with this company only to get the run around with excuses. I even contacted my vet to email them the history, the very little he has, only to be told again they are still waiting for an email... 19 days later still not a word or update.
Absolute rubbish service especially for a first claim with no ongoing or prior related history.
If I pay my bills on time I expect you treat my claim on time!
Through experience I recommend you shop around when looking to insure your furry loved ones.
This mob do not fairly make the cut and are a fail for pet insurance.
A week before christmas they took $700 out of my account for a renewal I was not notified of. I called to have it rectified and was put on hold for 20 minutes so I asked to be called back urgently. An hour later and still no return call.
Have had my policy for Woolworths Pet insurance for the past 6 years and never made a claim (tried to make a claim for Kennel Cough and it was rejected as it was a vaccinatable condition, my dog was vaccinated yet he still got it at puppy daycare), the premiums were climbing so asked to go down to basic cover from comprehensive cover, emailed with the quote I was given and said please go ahead with this new payment. New renewal has just come in going from $34 to $42 a FORTNIGHT and they kept me on the same payment last year when I had emailed...to ask to go down to basic cover... they said we tried to ring you once and it has to be over the phone to change the policy? I asked to cancel my policy as from renewal they played me a tape recorded statement saying they will cancel my policy immediately when it ends in a month!!! BEWARE

READ THE FINE PRINT
I took out the basic accident and illness for the "what if" moments..... It literally only covers certain ways of receiving accidental injury or illness.. and no consultation fees.... thats the biggest expense half the time... what a joke!! After paying $1000's in premiums they pay me $25 of a $300+ claim.. we will be canceling both of my two dogs policies.. RIP OFF! Save your money!

Honestly, I can't fault them
We got Woolworths Pet Insurance for our Golden Retriever puppy in January 2019. And, I can guarantee to you we have more than recouped our costs.
As luck would have it, our bouncy puppy has skin allergies that require a monthly $165 injection. Plus he's a bit stupid (bless his soul) so he's often injuring himself - just 2 weeks ago we were in for a throat infection because he'd stuck his snoot in a pile of grass clippings and got some lodged in his airways. Sedation + flush + antibiotics + steroids later he's back to his bouncy stupid self.
E...very time we're at the vet, they submit the claim for us, I get a text message, and within approx 5 working days the money is back in my account. We have saved thousands of $$ and only had the policy 11 months! Reading some of these reviews I honestly think some people have about as much sense as my Golden. Read the PDS. Know the rules. Follow them, and you won't be disappointed. If your dog has had a related illness before you took out the policy (even if it's barely related an not re-occurring), you won't get covered. It says so quite clearly.
Woolworths Pet Insurance buyer Beware!
Cost me over 600 bucks in the last year for this policy. Made 2 claims the first I received $100 bucks and the 2nd none as there is an excess per claim. So therefore out of pocket $500. When you sign up they tell you they will process claims within 10 days. Not so. After 3 phone calls and 5 weeks of waiting the call centre girl told me that I will be getting nothing back due to the excess and that it was being processed by the claims department. I immediately cancelled my policy. Better off putting that money into a savings account. So annoyed...that it took 3 phone calls and 5 weeks to find out that my claim is nil. Service is dreadful. Buyer BEWARE! Worse insurance company I have ever dealt with. Bye bye Woolworths pet insurance. Youll get no more money from this sucker!
Poor claims process.
It took 12 weeks to process a claim. Two out of three claims were denied as being 'not covered'. Poor communication. They promise to ring back within 5 working days but never do.
Total waste of $$
Read the PDS before buying this. You will then realise it barely covers you for anything. Youre better off putting $70 aside each week and saving for any unexpected pet expenses. Scores 0/10 from me.
