Wotif provided an excellent service BUT needs to allow review edits
We had a multiple-day Wotif stay and made a 3-star review of our stay on Day1. However by Day2 it deserved 5-stars BUT Wotif won’t let us edit the review
Do not stay here
Water damaged walls with marks running down walls. Shower curtain half hanging off bar. No chairs. No light covering ceiling globe in bathroom. Chipped/damaged side table. Paid $120, and expected better than this. I think the Swiss should object to their name being associated with this motel.

Wotif will not help after being bitten by bed bugs. Wotif will not review the hotels it books (will not remove even if not fit for human habitation). Wotif are hard to contact. bad company, do not use
Never book with wotif ( actually are owned by Expedia but retaining the name wotif to fool customers)
Impossible. No contact number for wotif can be found on the website or in the booking information. You will never speak to a person just a virtual assistant on that does not understand basic English. Wotif is actually owned by Expedia which has a poor customer service record. Do not book with Wotif ever!

Booked a motel through Whotif, arrived, no room available, That is a problem first up. Tried to contact whotif it is virtually impossible. I will never use this site again,,, Disgusting left in the lurch with no bed after 3.00pm and late for my event.

The most difficult unhelpful booking process ever
I had a very bad experience with the wotif booking system this week when I booked a night in Horsham on my way home and needed a bed for the night .
The dates glitched to April which is in a months time and that is what booked. I saw immediately after the booking came through it was a wrong date and not for the night that I wanted which was that night. I got in contact straightaway with wotif to change the booking to that night.
On the booking page it had said free cancellation so I thought they won’t have any problem as this request to am...
We booked a weekend away including flights and accommodation. Only to have accommodation with no flights.
Wth? Over charged us for the accommodation compared to accommodation website. Then the new airfare cost more again! Ffs.
How does a company offer all getaways without flight! Rip off…..Never again
Booked nights accommodation in a hotel in Philippines. When I turned up I was informed that the accommodation no longer exists, and had not done so for a long time. I tried to call them but got no answer. When I later asked Wotif for a refund and asked to take the hotel down from their website, they stated that they had been unable to contact the hotel for a week, and therefore COULD NOT issues a refund or do anything else. This makes no sense, it just proved the point that the hotel doesnt exist and hence they need to act. The same hotel is still advertised on Wotif, what a disgrace.
Total SCAM, do not ever use Wotif.
Will never again book through Wotif
When I booked the accommodation, it was stated that fully refundable at any time cancellation and I received an email from Stating I will get the the full refund minus $30 service fee. It has been 2 months now, I have been calling Wotif almost every day and stay in he line for nearly one hour, still didn’t get the refund. They are not transparent or help their customers. So frustrated.
Buy a TENT its cheaper.
My wife booked a cottage at Richmond Tasmania in July 2021 for her 50th Birthday in February 2022. The state of the cottage was dusty and unsafe. Smoke alarms and exhaust vent were all hanging from the ceiling. We decided to lay down after a long flight and woke up with bed bug bites all over us. So we packed up and stayed elsewhere. Wotif wont refund, Pathetic.
They were quick to refund.
I had a last minute tour cancellations due to Covid, so I went browsing online at 9pm, to find a replacement tour for 8am the next day. At this point, I already knew that all boats in Cairns were full but Wotif was the only one with availability, so I booked even though I was suspicious it was a glitch in the booking system and that I would have to ask for a refund. My suspicion turned out to be the case and I asked for a refund soon after. The Wotif refunding process appeared a bit suspicious at first (call from overseas and a suspicious expl...anation) as many other reviews here. Long story short, the sketchy explanation turned out to be correct and I received a refund as promised and in timely fashion. I am very satisfied with the refund process and the only reason I didn't give a 5 star review is because of the original glitch in the booking availability system.
False advertising hotels
Despite the hotel advertising city views on Wotif, we were given a room without a city view. The hotel charged us an extra $230 to 'upgrade' to a city view. We asked Wotif for a refund sending them the four photos as evidence as per below. They told us that the Promenade rooms do not guarantee a city view which is contrary to the advertisement. False advertising and no refund!! And trying to reach someone (an actual person) to sort it out was a nightmare.
SYSTEM MODEL IS FAULTY
The Wotif model is based on Wotif using your Credit Card details to take your money immediately when you book.
The problem with this is that the motel operator will not have received payment from Wotif by the time you book out, so you cannot get a Tax Invoice from the motel. In fact, the motelier will only be paid the booking amount less Wotif's commission of about 15%.
All you have is a Booking Confirmation stating the amount taken from your Card at the time of booking, but this is not the equivalent of an actual invoice. In fact the booking...
I booked Tranquility Cottages in Ballarat for weekend of 10 and 11th of December. At arriving at the site, the occupants said they had not been open for two years! Having contacted Wotif awaiting the refund!

I have reserved accommodation for 16-22 December. The Wotif system required a deposit, the amount of which was not declared prior to taking payment. I took a chance (foolishly in hindsight) and found the deposit was not the usual first nights accommodation but almost of third of the total charges). I now have conflicting emails: one from Wotif indicating balance due on check-in or check-out; the second email from VRBO host requiring balance by 18 November. This is obscene on at least three counts: a deposit that is more a part payment than a deposit; want of prior advice of the deposit amount; thirdly, the conflict. Obviously I have no intention of paying any more until at least check-in. Wotif chat only provided me with telephone contact numbers, the first of which was disconnected and then a number which corresponded to the 1800 help number which only dead-ends my calls. Anyone else have this problem? I am unable to find any contact number that gets me to a human, or any email address which responds.
The only contact I have been able to get is through their live chat which is equally unhelpful. You get some person in india who's job it is to lie to you and tell you and email be coming from their ...back of house. This email arrives 2 days later thanking you for your call and advising you that your problem has been fixed - which it never is. I now know this is an offshore company who does not play by Australian rules. You can't even get a tax invoice as they are not registered for GST. It seems you are learning the same lesson I did - they gave me two phone numbers on the chat both of which I rang while I was on there and they were both dead end numbers so they obviously give these out on purpose. When I questioned this I was told it must be a 'system error' and to try again later. I've tried numerous times with the same result. I'm sorry but I think they are a dodgy operator who is happy to take a lot of money from people with no responsibility afterwards. They should be illegal
Update. Someone genius from Wotif thought it was an answer to my query to telephone me at 12:01am last night and... terminate the call before I could answer from my sleep. They then had the gall to ...send an email (at 12:03am) telling me of their efforts and that their call went unanswered. Obviously I replied to the email advising that they not start their mischief with me and telephone during daylight in Australia and to keep trying until I answer. On the upside, found a VRBO support number that a human could be encouraged to answer. They are going to "follow it up and send it to the [appropriate] team". We shall see... At least I now have a VRBO case number and an email address (from the support agent). This doesn't however let Wotif off the hook for their failures.

We are in a similar position with airfares to the UK. Has anyone looked at filing a class action with a law firm?
Can someone please tell me what has happened to this Company and what to do. I was promised refund of hotel accommodation costs which I fully prepaid, and I cancelled mid July 2021 which was 1 month before arrival dates, within hotel cancellation policy. Even received refund receipt number from Wotif. BUT NEVER RECEIVED REFUND. Any suggestions?
