FALSE Advertising on Wotif.com Says Free Cancellation but they then charge a cancellation fee!

i booked accommodation advertised on Wotif.com as Free cancellation, only to be charged a cancellation fee. When i called the help line, they claim the charge was by the Motel, which is correct, however only Wotif.com had my credit card details! No prior notice. NEVER AGAIN Wotif.com !! Note same org. as lastminute.com.au or Travel.com.au. Stick to Airbnb or go direct.

Incompetent support, will not use them again

Tried to have a hotel booking updated within a few hours of making the booking since I mistyped the date. I contacted the hotel on a couple of occasions with the details and each time the hotel responded to say the change would be accepted and wotif just need sort out their end and on subsequent emails that no one from wotif had contacted them.
Wotif support kept coming back saying the hotel is rejecting the request.

Company doesnt send confirmations emails upon booking accomodation, pretty standard across all other booking websites. Call centre is less than helpful and rude. Avoid at all costs. Never booking with them again

Scams and robbery

I booked a hotel with wotif and was never sent a confirmation. It was a cancellable booking so I suppose if they dont send a confirmation it is harder to cancel. I called the hotel I had booked with to confirm my booking a few days prior- they had no booking. I assumed I had not booked it correctly and so made another booking. The day before my booking wotif sent a message about my original booking. I panicked and called hotel who still had no booking under my name and said they could do nothing. I called wotif who refused to do anything. What a SCAM. Ruined my anniversary.

Wotif charged us $40 for a transfer from airport to our hotel in Penang. We did not realise the actual cost till we booked our selves for the return journey. It cost less than one third of the cost.

October 17th 2019 Update: Money grabbers

They take advantage of you as they know that you will not know anything about the local place. I booked a cab through Wotif from airport to my Double tree Hilton in Penang. Wotif charged me about $40 and convincing me that it was a good deal. When I booked myself from hotel to airport I realised that it costs less than $15.

Hi, so today my boyfriend and i were trying to book return flights from Melbourne to QLD and the total was $500 and once I put my bank details in, it took $54 from my account and proceeded to say that the cost had gone up. It was still wanting approx $500. i knew it was a scam so i didn't pay the money, luckily i have only lost $54 but may this be a warning to others that Cheap flights are not always cheap!

Appalling and fraudulent! Stay away!

STOLE OUR MONEY! We booked accommodation for one price, confirmed and checked all details however were charged over $200 more from our account than listed on the website! We would not have booked it for this price. We have spent hours on the phone chasing it up and the customer service is appalling, rude and completely unhelpful. They have taken no responsibility and refused to give back the extra money that they charged us!
It has been a complete joke. We would never use them again and I would advise anyone against it!! Stay away!!

Unhelpful and uncaring

We were due to go to fiji in October. My wife has been declared medically unfit to travel. We provided the medical certificate as requested by Wotif in order to process a refund on both our flights and hotel. The only response I got is that the airline will follow its non-refundable policy. Not a word about the hotel request and I get the feeling that they didn't even bother calling the airline to request a refund or credit. We have given plenty of notice in order for the airlines to resell the tickets and the hotel to rebook the room. I'm now out of pocket thousands of dollars on top of medical bills for my wife. It's amazing how companies get so big then don't seem to care about their customers.

Terrible Experience!

Using Wotif for the first time, and what a terrible experience! Extremely disappointed with the accommodation upon arrival and tried to cancel my booking. After 3 attempts at calling, and being hung up on 3 times (after being placed on hold for extensive periods), there was no resolution! I have since emailed every single day to request a refund and after 8 days still NOT RESOLVED WITH NO REFUND as promised. I do not recommend!!

I used there APP but at the last minute AFTER you apply your credit card details, the date CHANGED !!
Too late then . ALSO when I rang them to complain and had to rebook , my great deal jumped up 277-00.
AVOID this web site , they are just scammers BUT you will get a lovely apology , example - ‘ We are sorry to hear blah blah blah ...

Do not trust! Don't get the apartment you booked!

We booked three months in advance. We got to our apartment and immediately knew it was definitely not the 'executive' apartment we had booked from their photos. My husband rang and was told that apartment was no longer available and we had been 'upgraded' to a higher floor and that they were surprised nobody had emailed to tell us. Our upgraded apartment was run down and nothing like the one we had paid for. Hugely disappointed. We would have refunded and gone elsewhere if we had have been told. Not good enough. Never again!
