Not smart at all
I have been used multiple robot vacuums for years, iRobot 530, Xiaomi, and the latest S6.
The normal vacuum works well. However, the software and mop feature is quote disappointing. Once set up the no-mop zone. the machine with water tank cannot start work at all as the charger is in the carpet room. the machine cannot adapt itself with the defined zone. Once we setup the no-mop zone, it must work in mop mode and cannot work in vacuum mode any more. in another words, it cannot mop in floor area and vacuum in carpet room in one go. you have t...

Can't live without
Absolutely love this! I own an s5 and bought an s6 for MIL. It's slightly quieter but otherwise equally as efficient and good.
Use it for floorboards.
Does the job cleaning up crumbs and mess from toddlers after dry meals.
Otherwise it runs everyday and keeps the house clean. I barely hand vacuum now.
It's Not the best for dark colour carpets as the sensor gets confuse and goes in circle.
Mop function is average. But make do.
Bought this as a gift for the misses and she loves it, named it WALL-E. Mop feature comes in handy on the floor boards.
Use it on carpet and floor boards, needed as her hair gets everywhere. Also mops the floor boards sometimes have to go over for a spot wash.
Very good except for some stronger stains.
Very pleased to date (review is on 2nd Gen S6)
We decided to buy a robot vacuum after the daily grind of vacuuming dog hair was getting tiring.
So we started doing some research and discovered that the Xaomi Roborock series kept coming up with positive results in many of the comparative websites.
Ultimately we decided to go for the (S6 Pure 2nd Gen) before the S5 Max was announced.
Upon receiving the Roborock we found setup quick and simple. The Roborock got straight to work and began mapping the environment. The first couple of runs were slow as it got use to the location of all the objects around the house, but after that it is now very quick and effective.
We run the Roborock everyday and have not had to worry about vacuuming dog hair since.

Head and shoulders above the competition! Extremely intelligent, good value for money and also MOPS!
I've recently got the S6 Black Edition as a replacement for my ailing Samsung robot vacuum and it is worlds apart in intelligence. When I bought the Samsung 2 years ago it was probably the "most" intelligent midpriced vacuum as it at least went in straight lines rather than bumping around like a hockey puck but other than that it was noisy, was useless on carpet, often got stuck, couldn't climb a 2cm threshold out of laundry/bathrooms and you couldn't tell it where to go so it often missed rooms. It would have bouts of craziness and would crash...into things and finally gave up the ghost after damaging its brush bar. Luckily I had the extended warranty! After reading reviews on here and on YouTube about the Roborock S5 I was prepared to go with that as it was in the $700s price bracket I had available after refunding the Samsung. But luckily after looking at the top of the line $1000 S6 model, I noticed there was a 25% CNY sale on their website that brought it down to $750 which I added $75 for an extended warranty! Which I now can say really adds to the value for money equation. It uses LIDAR and instantly maps the room as seen on the smartphone app. I let it run through the entire house to map it, which it did perfectly. Unlike the Samsung, or even worse the hockey-puck Roombas, it is satisfying to glance at it and see it cleaning like a human would, row by row, room by room, rather than pinging off surfaces missing obvious bits of dust. I could then save the map and divide the floorplan into rooms, which I'll admit was a bit frustrating as the line markings took many go's to save but my advice is after doing basic division of the rooms (you have to do this after the first run to prevent the map from starting from scratch the next time; just mark an arbitrary room division) is to let it run again a few more times with all the doors open as it gains information each time and adds to the map. I learnt many of these tips from the Facebook owner's group, so if you get one, highly recommend you check them out. The battery life is crazy long and it recharges if the battery is low and finishes where it last left off if it didn't clean the entire house on one charge (I have carpeted rooms so it switches to Max which probably depletes the battery faster than usual but still way better than my old one) It easily climbs thresholds and unlike my Samsung as it is rounds, it can do a 180 twist on the spot to get out of any tight spot. Once it's all set up its a breeze to use as you can tell it which rooms to clean, on what days and which power level to use out of the 4 available. Like my old Samsung, it ramps up to max power on carpet which is handy. The app has a lot of features but the software design can be a bit rough around the edges. The reason it works so well is that it goes systematically so no area is missed. It does a good surface level clean on carpets, but I don't expect it to deep clean like my fullsize Dyson barrel. On tile floors its brilliant, the side brush only speeds up when it's needed so it doesn't flick dust away. You can follow it on the map using the phone app so you know where its cleaning and it shows trails of where its been (also handy if it tells you its gotten stuck on the occasional footrug). It's really smart and I love how it doesn't beep at you but actually speaks coherent voice prompts to notify you of anything. Then bin is easy to empty, dishwashing liquid does wonders in removing waxy kitchen dust. The HEPA filter is washable, the brush bar doesn't entangle with hair easily and the side brush is silicone so it doesn't fray like regular nylon brushes. The best part is that it is relatively quiet so it doesn't drown out the TV/conversation and also that it mops! I use the included reusable mop cloths and the adjustable-flow water tank and chuck the cloth in the wash after cleaning. I assume it isn't as amazing as a separate mopper but I doubt many of us would want to pay another $700 to get something to mop the floors. Even then the mop cloth is well designed and has a slide locking mechanism so the corners don't curl up. So for that this does it quite well and pairs in with the app where you can (unlike other brands which would gladly sell you a virtual wall) draw virtual no-go zones from the app for the living room rug and easily just select hard-floor rooms and exclude carpeted ones when you want to mop. All up its really worth it as it does everything well and is so versatile. What's the point of a robovac if it only can do your living room because it's useless in carpeted bedrooms and gets stuck on bathroom/laundry thresholds. This one does the whole house and not to mention mops for the price of a midrange regular vacuum-only device. I would highly recommend it to anyone as I find the current range of vacuums being sold in most retailers to be either woefully unintelligent in this price range or cost $2000 to do most of what this does for $750 (and still doesn't mop). Kudos to the company for actually still innovating on robovacs as everyone else seems to still sell years-old finicky tech for the same price.

I have a bad back so cleaning floors would take me a whole day just for one area and be very painful. This is awesome. I have ordered another for my lower level and my folks have orderes 2 s6.
App was a bit fiddly and frustrating at 1st but once set up you dont really have to touch it again. I have carpet and tiles. The mopping function is ok but not as good as the real thing.
I have had errors where it got stuck in same spot of my bathroom in a very tight corner where it just fits in. Easy fix was to put a toilet roll holder there so it doesn't go into corner so far to get stuck or i could have just blocked off that corner bit on app.
Support has been excellent so far...very prompt in answering emails.
Recommend this to anyone
