Over priced and can’t map only for mopping
I have carpet, tiles and floorboards. Want to map the area only for mopping but it doesn’t allow. If I forget to take the water cabin and say clean, it will damp all the carpet area too. No option to select only mop or vacuum.
Purchased in November 2020 for $640.00.

Stops working after 12 months, poor customer service
It was great when it was working (first 12 months) then wifi stopped connecting. I emailed customer support many times but no response. It’s not worth the price for working 12 months only, I could have got a cleaner.
Purchased in May 2019.

Needs constant babysitting - therefore pointless
We bought this vacuum to try and make our lives easier and save time. So far neither of those objectives has been achieved. On the plus side the suction is okay and I like the concept of the app. It's just a shame that the mapping is rubbish and I have to babysit the vacuum every time we use it.
The biggest issue is that the vacuum gets confused by mirrors and windows. We have quite a few sliding glass doors and the vacuum doesn't understand that these are a hard barrier and tries perpetually to find a way to get behind them because it thinks ...
Read moreit needs to vacuum in this magic mystery space. We also have mirrored sliding doors on the wardrobes and it cannot understand these either. This means that it cannot map the house properly and therefore goes into a constant cycle of going from room to room trying to get 'behind' the glass and mirrors. For example, if I set it to vacuum my daughter's bedroom it does that and once it bumps the mirrored robe door it then goes to my son's bedroom (on the other side of the mirrored robes) to try and get into my daughter's robe from the other side. When it realises it can't get there it then returns to the first bedroom and tries again. And so continues to do this in an endless loop until the battery runs out. The same with all of the glass sliding doors in our lounge, dining room, master bedroom - you get the picture. So I basically have to babysit the vacuum cleaner in every job that it does which is highly annoying when it was meant to be a time saving device. I've tried zoning the house into rooms but the mapping - which they describe as being at 'beta stage' is very fiddly and even with rooms defined, no-go zones and invisible walls set up linke a crazy labyrinth the vacuum can't be trusted to just vacuum and go back to base. For $700 I expect the app not to be in the 'beta stage' - I expect it to work. And for $700 I expect to be able to tell the vacuum to do something and to be able to leave it safe in the knowledge that it will do the simple task of vacuuming a room and returning to base. Right now we are better off just manually vacuuming using our old $100 vacuum cleaner and using the $700 Roborock as a very expensive piece of artwork mounted on the wall. Disappointing.Purchased in June 2020 for $679.00.

Very poorly made!
I have spent more time fiddling around with the robot than I would vacuuming my house! It constantly gets lost and doesn't map out the house very well! I cannot put it on and leave the house as it literally needs a babysitter.

Life is much better now...
Even if it aint perfect, its a robot vac - it cleans the floor while I play with the kids - a little luxury for every homekeeper. App works fine, easy to connect to wifi, easy to empty dust collector, long battery - its worth the $$$, even if you do still need to pick up lego and unravel long hair from the roller occasionally.

Is the Roborock any good for vacuuming and mopping on slate tile floors?
1 answer
Purchased our Roborock a few weeks ago, our house is completely slate tiles - vacuums no problem, mop function works fairly well, but where the slate is really uneven it won't get into all the grooves, if that makes sense. Still 100% happy with it - we soak the mop pads with a bit of floor cleaner as you can't put chemicals in the mop itself and it does a great job.
