My car is fully insured! I pay $70 + a month. If car is stolen. What happens when it comes to my contents inside?
Hi Lyn, I hope your car is safely parked in the driveway and you are just enquiring. From our experience and policy wording, this is when you find Youi's policy is absolute CRAP compared to reputable insurers. Comp&TPFT covers a max. of $150 per item and max. $750 per claim. Business items and baby seats are not covered unless you paid extra for "optional cover - business items" and "extra cover - additions to the car".
If you've missed all the recent media coverage, Youi is the only insurer to ever be fined twice within months (Aug & Dec2016) totalling $420,000 for deceptive conduct. To top it off, Youi is being investigated by ASIC. Companies don't get investigated by ASIC unless there is a serious breach of conduct. I think that sais it all. Cheers
Hi Lyn, contents inside your car are covered for up to $150 per item to a maximum of $750 per claim following an insured event. Baby seats aren’t included in contents as they fall under Additions to the car, as do personalised plates, towbars & window tint & this cover is automatically included in your policy. Business items are covered if the optional extra “Business Items” is selected, for damage to or loss of business items whilst they are stored in the insured car & where there is also damage to the car. Each item is covered for its replacement cost of up to $200, to a maximum amount of $1,000 per incident after excess. Hope this helps, cheers Josh
Hi Youi, how do I cancel my policy as I have just bought a new car?
Hey Gem, how exciting, congrats on the new car! We can look to swap the car over in the policy if you’d like to keep cover rolling on the newbie, taking into consideration your tenure with Youi. This along with any cancellation is easiest processed over the recorded line so we can confirm policy info. If you’d email me your policy no/contact info, I’ll organise a call! email@example.com. Cheers. Lauren
Hey Gem, haven’t had any emails pop in yet, all good, you may not have had the chance to. You can give us a call at a time that suits you on 13 9684, we’ll be happy to help you get this sorted. Thanks, Lauren
After what my wife and I went through to cancel our 4 policies with Youi, you will be thinking you need a lawyer. Youi tried every trick known to man, non stop phone calls, harassment, cancelation fees, rubbishing other insurers and all the while, Youi is the only insurer to ever be fined twice within months totalling $420,000. To top it off, Youi is being investigated by ASIC. Companies don't get investigated by ASIC unless there is a serious breach of conduct. I think that sais it all. Cheers
I am on Yui insurance since 2015 (really can't remember when) and I have just bought a new car and will be selling the old one. Can I cancel my insurance right away and get a new one for my current car asap?
Hi Ann, if you no longer need cover on your old car you can simply change the car on your current policy. Send me your policy number & I’ll arrange a call. Cheers Josh
Hi Anne I would keep my old car insured as long as possible just in case anything happens while it's not insured until you have sold it
Hope this helps
BEWARE of Youi's additional $1000 excess for 90 days on your new car if you have driven away from the car yard/seller.
Could you tell me if Youi roadside assist is Australia-wide?
I can tell you this. If you breakdown 2 hours north or South of Sydney, be prepared to wait up to 4 hours and if you breakdown 30 minutes outside Brisbane, forget it. We ended up joining NRMA for NSW and RACQ for QLD as Youi road service is HOPELESS. Besides, Youi only gives you 2 callouts then its $150 each time thereafter. EPIC FAILURE YOUI !.
Great question Lexie, our roadside assist is available throughout Australia mainland, Tasmania & Philip Island that is accessible by a two-wheel drive recovery vehicle. We aim to get someone out within a 60minutes time frame depending on availability. If ever in need give us a bell on 131117, cheers Robyn.

I have noticed a withdrawal from my credit card for Youi, can you please advise me what this is for?
Since Youi cares very little for answering enquiries, lord knows, they have had enough questions to answer in the last two courts cases where they were fined $500,000 and a possible new court case coming up with ASIC, so, can I suggest you call Youi and try and sort it out and if that doesn't work, call the Financial Services Ombudsman on
1800 367 287.
Youi gets you alright, by the short and curlies !.
Thanks for getting in touch Joanne. I can confirm that it was the renewal of a car policy that triggered that transaction. By the sounds of it, this may have been unexpected & I apologise for any inconvenience. We’d also sent your renewal documents late last year advising of the automatic renewal process, including dates & amounts, did you receive these documents? I called the number we have on file to see if this cover was still required & assist with providing you a refund if the cover was no longer required. I’ve left a message & will send an SMS with my details also. Alternatively, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with a different phone number & I’ll call again. Hope to hear from you soon. Cheers, Ian.
Youi are liars and auto renew all policies behind any customers back so that they can get the money and run.
Youi always apologise but then nothing is done.
Good luck in getting your money back !
I use public transport to go to work and only use my car on the weekend. If I've chosen "leave car home" option from YOUI, what will happen if I have to drive my car to work one day and happen to have an accident? Is this situation not covered because I have chosen "leave car at home"?
All I can say is, ring GIO or AAMI if you want really good insurance at a fair price or Woolworths for bucket shop insurance. If your are on a Centrelink or any other benefit, call Essentials By AAI on 1800429598
Thanks for the question Kat. We get that sometimes, something out of the ordinary happens so all we ask is that you answer the quote questions honestly about your normal usage etc. We’re here to pay claims, that’s what we do! :) Thanks, Jen
Do you offer car hire insurance? I am 81 years of age and have a current driving licence.
I am interested in hiring a small car (Yaris) from 16 February to 24th February 2017.
Can you provide a quote please? Many thanks in anticipation Margaret Philpott
I think you need to take the insurance provided by the hire or rental car company. If the excess is really high which most are ($2000) call Tripcover on 1300 725 154 and for about $25 per week, you can reduce the excess to $0 or close, depending on your choices and situation.
Hi Maragretoz, sadly we don't do insurance for hire cars. The best bet is to speak to the hire car company directly. Cheers for your post. Koppo
Can you tell me how much it will cost to insure my holden rodeo for $20.000 dollars?
Go online or phone a real insurance company that's not up their eyeballs in court fines and convictions for deceptive conduct and dodgy sales tactics as Youi is.
Youi is currently being investigated by ASIC and that's big when ASIC gets involved !.
How do i make a complaint that YOUI Insurance made
Hi Gioluina, I’m here to help, please email me your contact details to email@example.com & I’ll be in touch. Keen to understand what’s happened, if you’d prefer you can call me on 07) 3852 7868. Cheers, Lauren

Hi Youi. How do i cancel my car insurance policy as I have just sold my car?
Cancellations are processed over the recorded line. You can either call 13YOUI or email firstname.lastname@example.org your details & I’ll be in touch, cheers Robyn.

Do we get lower premiums bases upon policy holder age? I'm over 40.
Thanks for getting in touch Sukram. Every question we ask contributes to the premium you pay & we certainly do love experienced drivers! I can arrange for one of our team to call you or you can call us on 139684 to see what we can offer? Thanks :) Jen
Do u do policy for ride share seperately or you do it in private use? Plz let me knw
Hi Arron, I think we’re talking about Uber or similar services; we can insure for this on your existing policy, just need to switch it to business use which may affect the premium. Are you able to PM me your details? I’ll call today & see if it’ll make a difference :)
Hi Arron, I’ve not heard anything just yet so let me know if you’d still like a call. Otherwise you’re welcome to dial 13 9684 (13 YOUI) & one of our advisors will be able to go through the changes. Hope this helps & have a great day!
Don't risk it Arron.
When you are an Uber partner/driver or ride-share driver, it pays to use an insurance broker as you have a professional person on your side protecting your interests against claims by customers and insurers that wont pay.
As a suggestion, try http://www.insuremyuber.com.au/
Is there a max limit of how many kilometres Youi covers a year?
A straight answer here ?. Product Review and Youi are best mates !.
Hi Elyse, we don’t limit the kilometres you drive in your car so if you’ve got a big road trip coming up you don’t have to call & increase them or anything . There are some km limits for cover, for example, our roadside service limits towing to 20kms in metro areas & 50kms in regional areas. I hope that helps, if you had any specifics I can answer just send me a pm with your details & I’ll give you a call! - Ella
Any one have any good experience with claims process with Youi ? I am with NRMA at the moment shopping around.
Sorry Kayne we haven't had to make any claims (touch wood) :)
We have some fabulous feedback from many of our clients who claim, from the surveys we send & the running feed on our Youi wall (https://www.youi.com.au/wall). The Wall gives us the opportunity to see what’s working for our client’s & gives us the opportunity to address/resolve areas where we’ve got it wrong. We’re not out to expose your liability or catch you out, every Insurer differs with their inclusions/exclusions, our PDS is available via our website & we encourage all to read through the documents to ensure the product works for you. Either way you decide, I wish you all the best. Happy to discuss further, if you’d welcome a call, please email your details to email@example.com Thanks, Lauren
Daughter had a minor bingle(not her fault);seamless and easy fix arranged straight away.
Hi youi how do I cancel my policy? I can not find any info on how to do this

You can give us a call on 13 9684 @ a time that suits between 6am-6pm Mon-Fri AEST & 8am-4pm AEST Saturday. Alternatively, of you’d please email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) your policy no/details, I’ll call to assist. Cheers, Lauren
Hey Mel, Haven’t heard back from you as yet. Just checking in to ensure you’re all good. If you’d like my help, you’ve got my details above. Will leave it with you to contact when you can. Thanks, Lauren
How did you go Mel ? Cancel the policy ok ?
I'm curious as we had a nightmare cancelling our insurance
Hey Youi, Are you going to treat Aussies like the same way you did to our Kiwi neighbours? Google it and read up on it people - fraud, high pressure sales tactics, dishonest conduct...
That’s a fair question Mel, thank you.
Importantly, we don’t currently, nor have we ever, condoned or accepted the behaviour you refer to. There have been mistakes made by individuals in the past, which we don’t deny, and have apologised for, to anyone involved. We’re committed to providing a professional and complete service and, as we always have, will continue to improve and adapt to ensure our Clients are satisfied and happy.
If you’ve have any concerns about dealings you’ve had with Youi in the past, please let me know and I’m happy to help in any way I can. Alternatively, if there’s anything you’d like to discuss further, please respond with your contact information, and I’ll give you a call.
Thanks again Mel. Cheers, Ian.
YOUI is all SMOKE & MIRRORS
Definition = Where there is SMOKE there is fire &
Where there are MIRRORS there is deception
You need to contact ASIC not ACCC.
Hi Youi team, I have 3 policies with you, 2 car and one contents, whilst i am very happy with the service, I am not as happy with the price I'm paying in comparison to other insurance companies.
When I first changed over to you guys from Suncorp I was saving a nice sum of money, now 8 months later and a couple of moves, I'm now paying more then what i was with Suncorp.
Its frustrating and I feel like renewing my policy elsewhere, if only to save some money. I understand there is a major difference between your company and some of the cheapest companies, but when i got a quote for one of my cars at my current address, I was quoted a price several hundred dollars cheaper then what we currently pay.
I would like to give you guys a 5/5 but I'm currently sitting at a 3 1/2 due to price. Any assistance with this would be welcomed. Cheers
Thanks for taking my call today Chris & I wished I was offering better news. We’d love to see you stay so we could continue to look after you for years to come. Still, from the research you’ve done, it sounds like our pricing isn’t competitive & we understand that you need to do what’s best for your situation. I appreciate your time & honesty this morning Chris & I’m here to help if there’s anything else you need. Cheers, Ian.
Why has my policy gone up twice in consecutive years (having only had the car 2 years) when: I haven't made a claim and I was under 25 when I initially got the policy and now that I am over 25? My policy has gone up 20% in one year!
Perhaps Youi's slogan - "AT YOUI, WE GET YOU" explains it ?.
There’s many reasons the price may increase Mitchell. Whilst you may have had no claims, a combination of the many factors that influence price could have contributed to this, like, area risk, weather patterns, part/repair cost, payment history, etc. I’d love to look into this for you, if you’d please email me your policy number/details to email@example.com I’ll get on it asap. Thanks, Lauren
Hey Mitchell, Haven’t heard back as yet, I get you might be busy. Would really like to check this out for you. You’ve got my email & you can call me direct on 07) 3852 7868 or you can also contact the Renewals section on 13 9684 option 3, then option 2. Will leave it with you to contact when you’re ready. Cheers, Lauren
I have a " Grey Import " 1996 Toyota Celicia convertible which, is the only one I'm aware of this year and body type in Victoria. It has a full body kit. T.V.Screens, and in the next two weeks I'm having a $800 alarm fitted. It is parked in a secure garage, this is my show car, and I'm 73 years old.The car will be limited to show n' shine use as I have other vehicles for daily use. I would do less than 20,000 k's in the vehicle in a year and the car is in immaculate condition as it has only done 100,000 k.S. Replaced value would be $12,000.Would you be prepared to provide me with a quote for this vehicle?? If you need further details my phone no. Is 0458282611.
Thanks for taking with me today. I’ve sent you an email & once I have your reply with all the information, I’ll follow up on my end. Talk soon, Lauren
Shannons Insurance would be best for your car.
