Purchased a Zodiac EL-1 chlorinator in August 2017. Failed in 2018. Control box replaced under warranty in 08/2018. in July 2020 the unit failed again. Have tried contacting Zodiac with no response and presume that I am now out of warranty. Thought I'd open the panel anyway to check the fuses and the inner panel had 2/4 screw missing. Was this really a "new replacement" from Warranty or a repaired unit??
Also have a Zodiac MX-8 pool cleaner that has cost me a fortune in spares and repairs.
Surely when I pay this sort of money for products they should last longer than 2 years.
Zodiac won't see me again!

Zodiac EL1-25 failure 2 times in 5 years
Replaced control box and cell after cycling fault codes that could not be fixed without a new board or something - decided on buying exact replacement control box and cell and again just under 3 years failed control box cycling output fault / salt light / no flow issue starting and stopping constantly with flow light blinking on and off - called Zodiac customer support and basically was told it is out of warranty yet again and this model is discontinued - geez wonder why??? I don’t understand how a system that costs $600 can fail so often seriously Zodiac!!! I believe I should get full replacement for simple fact same unit failed twice over same period just outside of warranty........
Zodiac don't like their customers
Purchased a replacement EL1 salt cell (D25) yesterday and tried to register the warranty today on the Zodiac website. What a joke!! When requested for date of birth, a mandatory field, the only way is to select a date from the drop down calendar. Due to my age this would require a total of some 760 mouse clicks to arrive at the appropriate calendar to select a date. Well, Zodiac, I'm not about to waste my time doing this. Pretty typical of other reviews about lousy customer service.
Low performing product and customer service to match
EL1 Cell has failed on just 18 months usage warranty for 24 months.
Contacted Zodiac customer service who took 6 business days to send a replacement unit which will take another 3 business days to arrive. Had to ring every second day to get an update or information on status of replacement.
Company has refused to call me back despite several promises to do so.
Customer service is very poor and below average at its best.
