Great service of Clarendon Homes
I have been impressed by the services that Clarendon Homes has offered. Very professional and provided me customised design in order to fulfil my requirements. Look forward for the house to be completed. Show detailsUntrustworthy
Clarendon homes took our $27k deposit as our tender expired as land delayed and we refused to pay the ridiculous price increase $86k for nothing extra and we didn't trust them to hit as with more variations though out the build also, we haven't even done selections. We found them really unprofessional, the way they handled it we lost trust with them. There was no communication and negotiation on price increase. We tried to organise see if we could build a different house in the range, we were getting help from sales office but head office couldn't care less and we weren't allowed to use all of our deposit which floored us. Stear clear at all costs only care about signing up as many people as possible and take there deposits. Professional and approachable
[Name Removed] was our Concrete Site Manager during our slab stage with Clarendon Homes. [Name Removed] was very professional and accessible via telephone contact and kept me up to date on planning and progress during this stage. [Name Removed] was approachable and knowledgeable answering any technical questions I had. Show detailsIncredible price increase - pre construction
We decided to knockdown and rebuild crestmead design house with Clarendon in Brisbane. This was a fixed price contract for 6 months. After 6 months Clarendon increased price to $54k due to land not ready and then again $6k increase. Lots of communication occur with manager, customer service team but Clarendon is not easy to negotiate. Pre construction $60k price increase is incredible....not sure what more unexpected surprise waiting during & post construction. I have no other choice to cancel the contract which will cost us $20k!In conclusion our decision to choose Clarendon homes has proven to be a worst choice. Show details
Hi RI Brisbane. We are sorry to read about your land being delayed and a corresponding price increase. So that we may review the decision, would you be kind enough to forward us your contact details and file number to productreview@clarendon.com.au
Amazing Customer Care after handover
I had an amazing customer service from Claredon Customer Care. Especially [Name Removed], my MIV, has been excellent. He is very attentive to the list of defects I had and their priorities. One of them was a safety hazard and it was addressed straightway. The others were scheduled and attended to relatively quickly. He has done above and beyond my expectations. the built time took longer than the contract period. But the customer care after handover has been really good. I am looking to build again and Claredon is still my preferred builder. Show detailsGood build with a good builder
Site Manager was excellent with good communication and accommodating of all thingsSite was managed well with construction and subcontractor issues
Disappointed chipboard flooring was left exposed to the elements for many months, reluctance to rectify at the time and now quality issues are evident at 3 month inspection.
Build quality was excellent, final finish was good, only minor issues still to be rectified from PCI
Customer Service Consultant is non existent throughout the build. Only communication was to get the review, Inform me of construction commencement (earth works started before the site fence was erected), Only 1 phone call received from CSC throughout the build. Show details
Excellent CSC
We have been extremely happy with the build process of our beautiful Clarendon Home. This was also because of our designated Customer Service Consultant (CSC) who was always available to help with any concerns or questions. Excellent communication and response times on any issues or questions we had. Show detailsConfidents in the Pre Construction stage
We are very happy with the momentum the pre construction stage has taken going from step to step, with ease and transparency! Our Costumer Service Consultant was very accessible and answered all our questions in a timely manner. Show detailsCustomer care and warranty 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
[Name Removed] and [Name Removed] from the after sales customer care and warranty team were amazing nothing was a problem for them guys. They rang when they said they were going to and turned up on time every time 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all round for them Show detailsPoorly Managed company
The post construction team were absolutely amazing and would give them nothing but 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Nothing was a problem for them and all issues were resolved in a very professional and timely manner. But the rest of the build was absolutely terrible 98 weeks for a 48 week build with 7 site supervisors and 2 area managers and just a whole lot of excuses, that I could publish a book from.
Poor communication from site supervisor/managers I would definitely never recommend Clarendon to anyone that asks how my build was.
At times there was nothing happening at my house from weeks/months
My frame windows and everything sat in the weather for at least 9 months and no progress in work
One very disappointed customer Show details

We are currently at the process of final checks before the construction commenced. The overall experience with Clarendon was good so far.The new home consultant was amazing - always respond to enquiries and/or requests timely, very professional and helpful.
The Customer Service Consult was also lovely to work with. She has wonderful communication skills, very friendly, responsive and considerate.

The team at Clarendon where great to deal with in finalizing the approval process for this challenging build, navigating the change in the BASIX requirements as well as the Heritage requirements. Client umber 29916583 Show detailsExtremely unprofessional
We are building through Clarendon in Medowie. The build has been very slow, even though the weather has been great this past year. The communication on timelines for each step of the build, and overall completion, is non-existent. It's impossible to do any planning or budgeting based on a completion date.In mid-November they had a site inspection with the next step to get plasterers in. Since then, there has been not one trade on site, for even a day! The building is in the exact state it was in during the site inspection over 3 months ago.
... Read moreCommunication has been atrocious. When you start the build, the Construction Communication document states: "your site manager will phone you each week with an update". This has not occurred at all and in fact we have called our Site Manager once or twice a week since the end of the their break period and so far we have one call back with empty promises and no timeframes. In frustration, we rang our customer service consultant who was going to follow up and get back to us on the following Monday. After no response by the agreed date, I had to call again (12/02/2024) and was told they would now follow up on the task agreed the week prior. Still yet to hear anything. I then called the Hunter office and spoke with one of the managers who said "she can't see why our build is not moving" and would get a supervisor to drop out to the site. We received an email stating we would hear something by the end of the week. Again, another week has passed, and nothing has been done at the site and we got no response from Clarendon. In our experience Clarendon has very unclear communication leaving you frustrated and stressed. When things aren’t going well, the only one doing the contacting is the owner ringing all levels trying to find anyone willing to pick up a phone which, as we’ve found, does not guarantee anyone doing what they said they would. Building with Clarendon has turned us off building a new home altogether and given our experience we would avoid building with Clarendon at all costs.

Kind regardsQuestions & Answers
Has Peter Campbell divorced himself from the reality of his building works in the Hunter region? Or, in my opinion, is he fully aware and endorsing this conduct. We are 29915636. I know a number of Bowral builders in the Hunter who would be more than happy to meet him at one of our builds and we can educate him on the state of his business. We ourselves are at end of contract and facing another 3 months of work if the rubbish trades can turn up and not be rubbish.
There are multiple properties that have gone over time on the contracts some by over 50%. We were charged extra to secure trades and then they didnt turn up for 20 weeks. Now area manager appears to be MIA and sending emails to Clarendon is an exercise in futility unless Peter wants to receive them from the NSW Sherrifs office as we get tired of chasing them.
The trades employed by Clarendon are basically unsupervised and as a result the trades are allowed to do rubbish work. We are tired of disappointment after disappointment.
Hello Grakat Thank you for your feedback. We understand the importance of your concerns and are currently reviewing with our Construction Team to address them.
Kind regards
Is there any one person at Clarendon that will take responsibility for my Son and his family of three girls having to live on the streets if they don't receive the keys to their new Clarendon home this week?
Months and months overdue.
No they will not take any responsibility. Once your build is in trouble for delivery delays they no longer make money so you become the lowest priority. I got ghosted for months.
I would like to know why we put up a review over one month ago and have STILL not heard from anyone at Clarendon. It has not even been acknowledged on the site, just one more disappointment.
Regards
Simon and Fiona
Hello Fiona and Simon, We will escalate and have a member of the team contact you by 5pm Friday. Regards, Clarendon Homes.
You should not assume they care. They treat everyone as a once in a life time client.
