Ejection chute always gets blocked when doing greens or celery

1 out of 5, reviewed on Jun 01, 2018

I am so disappointed with my juicer. I paid top dollar for a quality product and it has seriously failed. If all you want to make is single soft fruit juice eg: watermelon then its fine. However you do not have to pay nearly $700 for the privilege. I did a lot of research before I bought this juicer and felt I had made a good choice. I have had this juicer for a couple of years now and have gone back to my old cheaper juicers as has everyone else in my family. My problems are
Will not grab the the fruit and vegetables about 30% of the time when I drop into feed chute so they just keep churning around and around never being caught by the auger to go through and be juiced which means pulling everything apart and starting again. It helps if I chop everything really small however not what was promoted in the info video and does not always work.
The eject chute .... what a nightmare!!!! If I want to juice any fibrous plant material such as herbs, kale, spinach and worst of all celery it will block up unless I assist is out constantly with a pointed sharp knife to keep it moving.
Its a hassle to clean but all juicers are. I really thought that I would be able to juice 2-3 liters of juice with my $700 juicer without having to stop and dismantle several times, probe out the pulp constantly and I would completely forget this juicer if you are wanting to make medicinal juices such as anything green. Wish I paid the extra and went with the Greenstar. I have a kogan cold press juicer which I paid $70 for and although i is a lot louder it does the same job with less hassle and I would have saved a fortune. Over all I am completely disappointed in my juicer as it has certainly never functioned the way I would have expected. Why am I writing this when my warranty has expired you may ask? I just got it out again to try and see if it was my imagination and felt compelled to warn serious juicers away from this product save your money!!! Also my juicer is the Optimum 700 $698 including postage (19.95) I really wanted this to work I was trying to support an Australian company.

This is my first juicer and it is perfect.

5 out of 5, reviewed on Feb 06, 2018

The optimum juice is amazing and easy to use.The inlet is huge and you can chuck the whole apple in without cutting. The machines is very quiet when running and I am very impressed. Cleaning just a piece of cake. I take around 2min to disassemble and clean it. Best juicer to buy in the market if you are going to invest one.

Excellent juicer and a great company to buy from

5 out of 5, reviewed on Jan 29, 2018

I purchased the Optimum 700 for my wife for christmas and she loves it! When I purchased the juicer, I debated between the Kevin's B6000/C7000 and the Optimum 700. I pored over so many reviews - written and video - and decided on the Optimum. The constant quality of the juice and it's ability to handle whole fruit were the primary decision makers.

When I purchased it, I was given the opportunity to upgrade to the version 2 of the juicer (which I did). This version has an issue with the hopper jamming on some fruit. We experienced the issue twice the first week (on a half beetroot and a small, whole apple). I reported the issue to Froothie (where I purchased from), and they acknowledged that some units have this issue and sent out a replacement hopper and centre spiral "juicer" part. I received the replacements within a couple of days (they sent it out the first week of January no less).

After using the juicer daily using the same recipes (whole apples, beetroot, carrots, oranges etc.) we have not had the issue at all.

To say that we are thrilled with the purchase is an understatement. My wife produces a few litres of juice and it stores for several days at a time. The quality of juice is fantastic. The juicer is quiet (although you should expect the normal noise from tougher fruits).

I can't say enough good about Froothie too who were very helpful and quick to respond to the issue. Don't be put off by the hopper on version 2, just contact them to ensure that the unit you purchase will have the improved hopper and you'll be thankful that you decided on the Optimum 700!

Jammed after only a few months of use!

1 out of 5, reviewed on Jan 21, 2018

Very disappointed in this expensive product- bought just a few months ago, and suddenly jammed during normal blending (lime and carrots).

Now the bottom half now out of alignment with the top and no amount of force will fix it, and my team has no juice at all.

I truly do NOT recommend to buy this at all

Terrible! Can't handle leafy greens, especially celery & kale. Terrible to cleaning & fibres clog the spinning section. This machine only lasted 2 months before it stopped working. Juicer was used weekly. We've used several & this one is by far the worst. Buyer beware! If your looking for quality, you'll be disappointed.

I wish I hadn't bought this junk!!

1 out of 5, reviewed on Nov 06, 2017

I'm so disappointed with this juicer I could cry. Initially the problems were how loud it is, it can't handle green leafy plants and extremely difficult to clean. Now it just stops working half way through juicing, gets really hot and makes burning smell. Also things get stuck between the screw and the sieve. To make it even worse froothie have THE WORST customer service, they really could not care less that this junk they sold me does not do what its supposed to. One of the worst purchases I've made, and I'm going to go to ACCC!!! I would not but this or anything from them again!

Bad Design!

1 out of 5, reviewed on Nov 05, 2017

I don't recommend this product, juicer jams, i received replacement top part, but the problem is ongoing. Do yourself a favour don't buy this juicer. It juices the apples fine, carrots to much pulp and pulp feels wet, Forget about juicing beetroots, it can't cope, the angle of the pulp chute is very poorly designed, all the pulp gets stuck there.

Sadly...I'm very disappointed.

2 out of 5, reviewed on Nov 03, 2017

We received our machine about 3 weeks ago and were hanging out for its delivery! On the positive side it can produce beautiful juices BUT there are serious issues with it jamming with some vegetables...mostly from our experience, beetroot. We understand that it must be cut into small pieces, which we did. It has jammed with us in its short life 5 times... 4 off them have been rectified with 2 of us holding the machine and applying a lot of force to unlock the lid. Now our machine is jammed again and even with 2 people with maximum force there's no way we can unlock..rendering our machine redundant for the time being. Not good and not happy..

Very unhappy that juicer unable to cope with celery. Gets clogged every time and very difficult to clear. Also doesn’t do that well with spinach leaves. Takes a lot of time to clean, bits of vegetables everywhere, quite messy. On the positive side it is a quiet machine but wont be used much. Expensive mistake.

Unit jams together every time

1 out of 5, reviewed on Oct 29, 2017

It was both a relief and saddening to see these reviews. Mine jammed together every single time I tried (about 12) since I took it out of the box after waiting for a long time to receive the newest model for my birthday from my family only two weeks ago.
If anybody is interested I looked hard at what was happening and the auger begins to move the whole top of the unit from side to side after about sixty seconds. When it really moves too far the jamming happens. Others have tried putting unit together in case I'm just an idiot including brother who has previous model he loves and the exact same result. Putting in a warranty claim tomorrow but I don't think I want this brand again based on others experiences of same.
Really disappointed, this is the first review I have ever done on internet.
Hopefully it can be replaced or refunded

Optimum 700 Cold Press Juicer

4 out of 5, reviewed on Oct 29, 2017

Took delivery of our optimum700 direct from Froothie early Oct.2017 It was a real problem from the first day.
The wiper would stop rotating and the screw would clog up with pulp. The whole unit would then
pop of the drive shaft. However its not all doom and gloom.. We contacted Froothie and after two weeks of
back and forth with e mails , videos , photos etc. They decided it was an inherent design or manufacturing
problem in a small number of cases with this model. We were given a new re designed screw and main body.
So far (2 weeks) it hardly missed a beat. But you need to cut things up the 25mm length and not very thick.
Beet root, celery & even apple will make it work and produce loud grinding noises. I must say the response we
received from Froothie was prompt and helpful. trust this machine now will keep producing for years to come.
Keep you posted.
Papa Smerf.

Works great until you add pre-cut beetroot.

3 out of 5, reviewed on Oct 14, 2017

Machine has been great for the first two weeks - used daily, great juice and easy to maintain.

All was fine until we added pre-cut beetroot and the machine jammed the compartments together. Motor has ceased functioning so can’t follow the website directions to unlock the compartments. Hopefully warranty support is better than claimed on other reviews on this site.

Jammed

1 out of 5, reviewed on Oct 10, 2017

The machine started off fine - managed to juice apples, carrots and a lemon just fine. However, after adding a beetroot to the mix, it jammed the juicer straight away. The top of the machine twisted in the wrong direction, past the little lock symbol. We tried spent a good couple hours trying to get it unstuck - nothing worked. Extremely disappointed. In addition, noticed the juice that was made was a bit pulpy. Perhaps it was just this one machine, perhaps not. All I know is I won't be buying again.

As good as my Optimum 9400 blender

5 out of 5, reviewed on Jul 20, 2017

I researched before I bought my Optimum 9400 blender, loved it. There was no decision to be made when I wanted to buy a juicer to primarily make soy milk and juices. Research showed me the Optimum 700 Juicer, It arrived today, I have been playing with it all evening, love it, trying the three juicing screens was exciting, so quiet, easy to clean and easy to use. Buying three more will be a great 2017 Christmas presents for my three Sons. Thank you.

Questions & Answers

Does the Optimum 700 3rd gen make nut butters and sorbet? If it does, does it come with the attachments for the sale price of $429 as currently advertised? Thanks Victoria

vic asked on Dec 30, 2017

Answer this

Hello Victoria, thank you for your message. We can confirm that the Optimum 700 2nd Generation can be used to make nut butters and sorbets as it comes with a blank strainer. However if you are referring to the Optimum 600 3rd Generation, it comes with a fine strainer for juices and a coarse strainer for smoothies but does not have a blank strainer. We hope this helps but please contact us directly at support@froothie.com.au if you have any questions :)

It states that it does make these products but i have no personal experience of making them. I have an ice cream machine and a Thermomix. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Theres a Froothie TV video for the optimum 400 showing how to make almond butter....I tried it but not sure if it was my almonds...but felt it was dry and I needed to add some oil to make it smoother. And I had soaked it for more than 12hrs

Can you explain me for what I use coarse straner, fine strainer and homogenising strainer blank plate .because I never use things like this. Kind regards Bob

Bob asked on Oct 31, 2017

Answer this

Hi Bob
Sorry I cannot give you an answer from experience .. as we only use the fine strainer for juicing.
But if you read through the instruction manual I believe it gives you instructions as to what they are for.
You know that booklet we all red after all else fails :) :)
Regards Papa Smerf

Hello Bob, thank you for your question. You can use the fine strainer to make clear natural juices. The coarse strainer allows more pulp into the juice to make delicious smoothies and the blank strainer can be used to make nut milks, sorbets and much much more :) Please visit our YouTube channel for plenty of recipe ideas - https://www.youtube.com/user/FroothieTV. We hope this helps :)

Hi, I am looking at either the Optimum 600 or 700 and I am undecided. In your opinion, which is the best option? I have been using slow juicer for a number of years for both juicing and making various nut milks. Thanks Dot

Dot asked on Aug 28, 2017

Answer this

Hi Dot
Don't purchase the Optimum 700 series. I purchased one last November 2017 and during the first use with apple and one celery it jammed. No one could prise the jamming. The machine had twisted and moved the top section that I after successive attempts (being 115kg ) finally got it undone. I sent a message to Froothie immediately and they replied they did not know what the problem is. I had to video tape the machine showing what the trouble was. I did this and sent it in. Waiting a few weeks before they replied "they know about the problem as they were having the problem with only a select amount of products. I asked for my money back but they told it was a design fault and then sent out a new improved design replacement. This jammed after 5 uses which we then cut fruit and vegetables into miniscule pieces so it would not get jammed. This achieved nothing as the 7th use the container made this awful noise and when I looked it had split in a spiral crack. I was over this product by now. My new life transition and my family's new transition was being hampered by this inadequate product. $700 dollars of fruit and veges had been laid to waste in my fridge as we could not use the juicer! This occurred on two occasions of product failure. I asked for my money back and they informed me that I had to ask for my money back within the 30day period. Despite their product being flawed. They have since offered me the outdated 600A 3rd Generation which retails for a lot less than the 700A 2nd generation juicer. I asked them what will happen if this one breaks down! Will I be entitled to my money back so I can purchase a reliable juicer! No answer we are awaiting the arrival of the 600A 3rd generation juicer so I can keep you posted. To let you know I am not a robot nor am I some rival company My name is Dr Derek Chong! I am a Doctor specializing in mental health. You can see me on the internet! or LinkedIn. Juicing is important and so beneficial for mental health and health in general, but I'm so disappointed with my journey so far with juicing with this product, I just hope in my next review I can report something positive. As I speak to so many forums about this lifestyle change I cannot verify my own results as it has been hampered by these occurrences. My brother in law bought a commercial cold press juicer and he makes it for his company and will be purchasing another one for their staff. I'm deliberating what my next step will be when I've trialed this product 600A 3rd Generation Froothie Juicer.
