not great at all

1 out of 5, reviewed on Mar 29, 2017

After doing much research I decided to give ozhead a go. I've had my straightener for only 2-3 months and I didn't feel like it was doing a good job and I never like to complain, but my hair would frizz out fairly quickly and it felt dried out. Today I turned the straightener on and the plate popped out and burnt me and I needed to turn the straightener off! I'm horrified after this exprience and don't want a replacement. Not happy with the quality and would steer clear

Did not like it

1 out of 5, reviewed on Sep 19, 2016

I bought ozhead after reading great reviews here as it sounded amazing. I received the straightener and wasn't too impressed I straightened my hair and it took longer than my other no name brand straightener. I tried the vibrating function and just thought it was a gimmick to be honest. Finally finished straightening my hair and went out and started to frizz out like crazy. Not happy with it and have given it away now.

Seriously?

1 out of 5, reviewed on Jul 18, 2015

My husband bought this as a surprise gift for me, as I've always had a cheap straightener and never wanted to spend a lot of money on one. I can't believe what a waste of money this turned out to be. My $30 one does a much much better job than the ozhead. It also feels very cheaply made and not good quality. My hair does not stay straight with this straightener at all. I would honestly say it's the worst one I've ever used, not sure why there are good reviews on this product? Going back to my cheaper one I have, does a far better job

Not good at all

1 out of 5, reviewed on Dec 14, 2014

I received this as a birthday present from my mum. And I was shocked as to how bad this straightener was. It didn't do a good job straightening my hair it would start to frizz out fairly quickly. And my hair is fairly straight normally. I had to ask my mum to return it and get her money back as it was a complete waste of money. Better stick with my $20 straightener.

Terrible!

1 out of 5, reviewed on Nov 26, 2014

Seriously this product is shocking, i have no idea who is writing good reviews but its not good at all! I listened to the reviews and got this product and its not good at all. Im a professional hair dresser for about 15 years now and i would have to say one of the worst and cheapest quality hair straighteners i have ever used. It struggles to straighten hair and it takes a lot longer than just a standard hair straightener. People save your self the time and effort and just avoid it.

Absolute rubbish

1 out of 5, reviewed on Nov 13, 2014

The ozhead hair straightener is the worst hair straightener I've ever owned. It doesn't even keep my fairly straight hair straight it actually frizzes. The quality is so poor and cheap. I've had a Kmart hair straightener that does a much better job. Best advice don't waste by our money.

Fraud item

1 out of 5, reviewed on Jul 24, 2013

Ok, I received the mini straightener today and I must say I am so disappointed in this item. It is ridiculously small and I don't understand how you people can say it heats up to 210. I was in my bathroom for 1 hour and this straightener is a total joke, as it does not straighten and does not heat up to 210, otherwise it would work better. This item is like a silly toy and I wasted $22 for absolutely no good reason. I definitely now would not trust your larger straighteners and there is no way in hell you people can even compare this fraud bul l [censored word removed] item to be better than GHD and other competitive straighteners. Also, you people claim there is a 3 year warranty on the straighteners, so why is it not included in the packaging like all other manufactured electrical appliances ( WHERE IS THE WARRANTY). Further more this tiny straightener is over priced because it's bull [censored word removed], no mini straightener in the stores are that small and also the ones in the stores work 10 times better than this one you have sent me. I am so narked off that once again I have been stooged into buying a fraud item that does not stand up to its websites description, it makes me wonder if any of the reviews are even real. There will NOT be any good reviews coming from me and I will make sure everyone on facebook is aware that the mini straightener is rubbish and a fraud and a waste of money as it is not even worth $5.

- way too small and did not straighten my hair properly.. Does not heat up to 210 and thank god i didnt buy the big one and waste $140. Extremely disapointed and angry.

Not so Great

2 out of 5, reviewed on Jul 18, 2017

Bought this after reading positive reviews. Unfortunately for me, it hasn't been very good. My GHD, which my daughter now uses all the time, is far better. The OzHead takes longer to straighten my hair, the straightener becomes so hot it easily burns your fingers and ears and I have no idea what the vibration is supposed to achieve it didn't do a thing for me. In comparison when I use my GHD my hair is shinier and smoother and it doesn't become so extremely hot on the outside. On the positive side, they did send my out a free one after sending me the incorrect colour ordered, which was unexpected and very nice.

Not hot enough for my hair

2 out of 5, reviewed on May 17, 2017

17.5.17 Unfortunately this straightener doesn't do a good job on my hair even at the top temperature and using tiny sections of hair. I used the serum they sent but with this straightener my hair is all plumped out again the next day.
I ordered it on 25.4.17 but it didn't arrive for about 10 working days. I have left a message on the 1800 694 323 number which went to the message bank of someone named Dave.

My old GHD was better!

2 out of 5, reviewed on Jan 03, 2014

Received this Ozhead straightener as a gift a couple months back. Was looking forward to using it as my old GHD eventually broke after several years. Well what a disappointment :( it doesn't straighten as well as my old GHD, and secondly the vibrating plates stop working every time I use it :( really disappointed with this straightener, I'd rather go back and use a GHD anyday!

I've used many straighteners & this was as another reviewer stated, clunky & the plates didnt float right. I've had mine just over 2 years & a plate finally disconnected. I'm back to plain old Remmington, $50 & works as well. It has a 3 year service warranty which I'llI try (only broke this week) but if it costs money I'll have to consider if its worth it 9postage). will let you know about the service side.

+ Heated quick, long warranty, very pretty box

- Cord too long, not a great plate fixture, no auto cut off, expensive

Its a year old this month. Prob should have insisted my husband by the ghd i wanted since all these products are overpriced and it was a xmas pressie that im now not happy with.

Mixed feelings

3 out of 5, reviewed on Oct 24, 2013

Been using the OzHead for about 6 months now. Initially it was really amazing and now the vibration function only works occasionally. It does still heat up quickly and I think it's good value for money.

As many others have said, customer service was amazing. If only the quality of the product is also as good I'd happily pay more to get another one.

+ Value for money, Customer service, Performance is OK.

- Don't expect top of the line quality

Not sold!

3 out of 5, reviewed on Sep 22, 2013

I bought this and a Halo ceramic at the same time, used each on either half of my head. The Halo left my hair slightly silkier but only just so I thought I'll wait and see how long each last. I have a lot of hair longish and very curly. I straighten once a week as my hair is quite dry and my ghd just stopped working after 8 years. I tried this both in vibrating mode and not. Didn't really see any difference. A couple hours later I looked in a mirror and the Ozhead side had gone all poofy and back to wavy. Had to straighten it all over again. V ery disappointed! I had been inside my house and it wasn't humid weather or anything. After reading all these reviews I'm shocked and disappointed that this didn't work for me considering the price was great, I love that it's made in oz and the company seems to be very customer focused. I will be returning this as its within the 14 day money back period, shame it'll cost me another $20 or so in shipping though :(

+ Great sleek looking machine, good design with quite a few functions.

- Did not work for my hair.

Good straightener for the price

4 out of 5, reviewed on Jul 10, 2017

I bought the Ozhead because the reputation of the GHD was going down after they switched manufacturers. This is a great alternative, although sometimes I feel like it needs tiny sections of hair to really straighten well. Still, for the price it's a great straightener.

Hi Lee
I can't give you any feedback on the SAS sorry don't even know anyone who has one.

My Ozhead - I've had I a few weeks now and I can honestly say my old GHD that this replaceyd was NEVER anywhere near as good as my Ozhead. The Ozhead leaves my hair dead straight and it stays that way all day. I have a fringe that curls up as soon as I leave the bathroom. Not with my Ozhead.

If I use the hair serum with the straightner. My hair stays straight for up to 3 days. Well that's as long as I was prepared to test It. I have always had to wash my hair every single day up until I started with the Ozhead. It's awesome waking up to straight hair and not having to wash dry and style it every single day.

Everyone's hair is different of course. But my experience on my hair is fantastic and I'd highly recommend the straightner and the serum.

Hi a few days ago you had a deal for $189.95 whivh included a mini straightener, heat mat, serum etc. I cannot see that on the website anymore. Do you still have that or when is it coming back ?

Puneet asked on Mar 27, 2017

Hi, I am looking to replace my current straightener (a GHD). After 3 years it has become much weaker and I am no longer satisfied with the way my hair looks after I straighten it no matter how long I spend doing it. I have really thick, curly hair and was looking for something that would work well for my hair. I also straighten my hair every week and was looking for something that wouldn't damage it too much. Is there a specific hair straightener that you think may work best for me ? Also wondering what the material of the plates are and if you guys do any student discounts at all? Thanks, Marlin

Marlin asked on Mar 25, 2017

Marlin, I also have thick wavy hair, did you end up getting a OZhead? If so how was it with your hair?
