Usman Khan is the best person, because of him I own my own home. He made my journey to built my own house very easy and explain everything step by step. He also help me to get my finances sorted with the help of Simonds Mortgage Broker Nouman Hameed.
Drummond the the best house plan with 3 big decent size room and 2 living areas. The best house within budget and quick to build(means save money on rent).
Usman Khan is very easy going person, even ask any insane questions, he answers very politely and explain everything many times until you understand. He is sales man from Simonds and even then I was asking him many things during the building the house.
Best person I ever met.

House of my dreams!

I really enjoyed the actual build side of things. Dealing with our site supervisor Anthony from the Bendigo office was the best part of the whole process. He certainly is a credit to your company. He is extremely easy to get along with, what you see is what you get and he was always upfront and honest with us. No matter what our question was, if he didn't know he would find out an answer. The design gallery is a pretty full on day but all the staff down at the Melbourne centre are lovely to deal with. Overall we have loved dealing with Simonds while building our dream home. Very happy and satisfied customers here.

And a shout out for the construction manager at Bendigo too, Craig always a pleasure to deal with.

We have nothing negative to say about our Drummond Express Home. Quality workmanship - management of the build has been on ball since the start! From Sales with Brad and Jessica to ongoing support and customer service from Skie and Mick has been second to none from all accounts! The tiniest and sometimes inane questions we've had on this journey have been met with promptness and professionalism! The express design gives us the choice of a colour palette that we chose that we absolutely love! This team deserves a medal for their outstanding team work and customer relations. Well done! We'll be finished in approximately 3 weeks time, before the time we initially thought

We chose Simonds at Marsden Park NSW and from the start Ly Wong was very professional. Whether suggesting structural changes or listening to our ideas Ly was patient. Prompt on communication and honest about the pricing so far was one of the reason for us going ahead with Simonds.
Now as we have signed the contract, the staff at Baulkham Hills office are good too. Starting with Marcus Williams and Lauren O'Connor (contract presenter). They had done their homework and ready with all the answers we were throwing at them on the contract appointment.
We are scheduled for a studio appointment later this month and hoping to have the same experience. Will keep the readers updated with any changes.
For us, transparency, honesty, and value for money is what we look for in any contract. All the best to everyone for a smooth experience in building their dream home.

Good experience over all. Lyn was our customer service rep & she was very helpful & understanding. She was easily contacted and always responded to emails and calls. We did encounter some difficulties during the build but all problems where resolved reasonably well. The house has a good quality finish to it and am very happy to have built with Simonds.

We had an excellent journey with Simonds building our first home. Starting from Jamie Power our sales representative who directed us to purchase a wonderful land and came up with a good plan for our house based on our needs. The gallery appointments went smoothly even though we made a lot of changes after that, thanks to our customer relationship coordinator Jen Chua at the Springvale office who was really exceptional in promptly replying to us and notifying us. Thanks to our site supervisor Jamie Collins who updated and discussed with us after each construction stages.Overall, we had a blessed and awesome experience building with Simonds.

Poor quality of work and handballing responsibility

- On 7 and 8 Oct 2017 we hear gurgling sounds whenever the shower is used, toilets are flushed, and taps are used. It also took a long time for water to flush and go down the drain.
- On 9 Oct, both our toilets become blocked. In the evening we called a plumber to come and
- On 10 Oct, [name removed] (No Doubt Plumbing) came to our property. He found that there was no ground level access to the sewer, and when he called Barwon Water no sanitary plan has been submitted after the house was built. [name removed] used an equipment to locate the shaft (acccess to sewer) and dug the surface to try and find it. No shaft was found and since his equipment located it within 1.3metres of ground, he provided us with a quote to get an excavator to find the shaft. He informed us that every house should have a ground level access to the sewer, and this is an issue that needs to be rectified by the plumbers who Simonds Home used to do the plumbing work for our house. In the evening, we called [name removed] at Simonds Home Curlewis and left a message to explain the situation. Later on, [name removed] got back to us and told us to call Simonds Home Geelong Office where Brooke will answer the call.
- On 11 Oct in the morning, we called Simonds Home Geelong Office and explain the situation to [name removed]. She then transferred us to [name removed] (Simonds Home Maintenance) and we had to explain the situation again. [name removed] informed us that [name removed] (Simonds Home Maintenance) will contact us to discuss solution. Soon after, [name removed] called us back to clarify our plumbing situation. We provided him with the contact number of [name removed] (No Doubt Plumbing) to provide details about the situation. [name removed] spoke to [name removed] then contacted us back and handballed the responsibility; saying that because the plumbing has worked up to 7 Oct it is now our responsibility to fix the problems and he was only willing to get the plumbers to submit the sanitary plan to Barwon Water.
- Later that day, we got [name removed] from Peachey Plumbing to have a look at our plumbing/sewer issues. [name removed] managed to find access that’s supposed to be at ground level by digging further. He (and I witnessed this myself) found built up household fat that’s stuck in the pipe and unable to go through therefore caused the blockage. [name removed] used an equipment to help them go through and that’s when he found that the pipe hasn’t been installed properly as it doesn’t line up with the junction (which meant blockage can happen easily). He managed to provide us with an interim solution however it could block up again anytime.
- [name removed] informed us that it’s an issue the plumbers used by Simonds Home need to rectify, as they are the people responsible for 1) installing everything correctly, 2) ensuring there’s ground level access (shaft) to sewer, and 3) submitting sanitary plan to Barwon Water.
- We then called Simonds Geelong Office again and informed [name removed] (Simonds Home Maintenance) of the findings. [name removed] informed us that she got in contact with the plumbers and requested for them to come to our house. We followed up and called [name removed] again later that day, she informed us that [name removed] (United Plumbing) will get in contact with us. We continued following up and tried calling [name removed] who ignored our calls but answered to texts. [name removed] mentioned that the person responsible for maintenance will get in touch. We waited until end of business day, and never heard back so we followed up again with [name removed] then soon after we received a call from [name removed] (United Plumbing Maintenance) who said he can come out on the 19th of Oct. We had to explain the situation again, and passed on the contact number of [name removed] from Peachey Plumbing.
- On 12 Oct, [name removed] informed us that he spoke to [name removed] (Peachey Plumbing) to get further details and asked me to contact [name removed] (Simonds Home Maintenance) to ensure that they’re happy for them to come out and fix the issues for us. We then called and spoke to [name removed] again, and forwarded the contact details of [name removed] (Peachey Plumbing) to explain exactly what needed to be done.
- On 17 Oct [name removed] from United Plumbing came to measure our back gate to ensure their equipment would fit.
- On 19 Oct, [name removed] and another person came with an excavator. They re-installed the junction and pipe so they line up and elevate the shaft to ground level.

To summarize, due to the poor quality of work(1. pipe and junction not lining up, 2. no ground level access to sewer, 3. no sanitary plan submitted to Barwon Water) done by the plumbers contracted by Simonds Home (United Plumbing), we were unable to use our toilets due to the blockage for 2 days, had to get two independent plumbers to come to try and solve the problems and spent $500, and had to take 3 unpaid days off work (10, 11, 19 October). We believe it is Simonds Home responsibility to ensure the work done by all your contractors are of acceptable quality. We believe at a very least, reimbursement of plumber fees are more than fair.

Easy, straightforward process

We used Simonds to build our first home, and have had a very easy and pleasant experience. Matthew Gauci, the Sales Consultant, went above and beyond to find a lot and house designs that would meet our needs, particularly given we were building in South Gippsland and he is based in Mernda. He also put us on to a great mortgage broker after we had difficulties with other brokers. We have also had clear and friendly communication from Skie Luke, our Customer Relationship Coordinator at Wonthaggi, and she has been genuinely enthusiastic about the progress of our build, which has been lovely. She has always responded quickly to any questions and has helped us to understand the somewhat complex process of building a first home. Our build has been very straightforward, and James Paterson, our Building Supervisor, has been really helpful throughout. He has been great to deal with, very willing to assist us with any questions or issues, and has been very responsive.

Overall, I have been very impressed with this process and the customer service we have received, as it has made a potentially stressful experience a lot less daunting.

Worst experience ever

It was our biggest mistake to build our first house with Simonds. It was a long journey to finish the house but now there is a big list oh things should be fix first week according to Supervisor but waiting more than three months and nobody cares. We called office every day and they have same excuse that it will be fixed soon. End of the day they just care about money nothing else.

Easiest builder to deal with as a First Home Buyer

From start to finish, everyone we dealt with at Simonds was extremely helpful. Vanessa Wessling, our Sales Consultant went above and beyond and can honestly say, the best customer service I have ever received from anyone. Maria Lozano, our Customer Relationship Coordinator was lovely and pleasant and always willing to answer any questions. Luke Peterson, our Site Supervisor, though lacked some communication and had to get onto him for every single appointment, was nice and informative. And to Alistair Grayling, our Construction Manager was onto it and just made things happen.
The build quality for the most part was excellent. The worst part was probably our tiler who just couldn't seem to get things right in our kitchen. He had to get sent back more than 3 times to fix up one issue after another... though I don't think this is anyway reflective of Simonds, but maybe more of a quality check as things happen would've been helpful.
As first home buyers, we felt that everything from the initial appointment to pricing to colour selection was transparent and there were no hidden surprises. We felt that everyone was helpful enough to explain every stage of the build if we had any questions and this makes things a lot easier when you don't know what you're doing.
Would be easily quite happy to build with Simonds again.

perfect house for me.

98%good build just a few screws dropping from ceiling in living area near ceiling fan.
The build was managed excellently i would highly recommend Warren, he listens and cares about his sites. From my experience Simonds homes were prompt, understanding and the build was done before due date which i was very please with.
Customer support was also very good, Sarah was helpful and pleasant to talk too!

We would like to mention a highly professional Interior Consultant Rhonda Nicholson from Masterpiece Simonds who made every effort to make the process as easy as possible right from the very start . Choosing your colours, and Interior Design etc., was very organised. She was always pleasant, calm, easily contactable and kept us informed of what was happening , responded to questions promptly efficiently.
Also we would like to mention Dianne Buchanan who help us in very professional manners , going out of her ways to make sure we are happy with final results.

We built our family home with Simonds 3 years ago. I first met Soney Chau, senior sales consultant, currently working at Harpley display office. He explained all the steps how we can purchase and built our home and continuously offered us lots of his time over numerous consultations. He was always very straight up and honest with us. I still remember when we left our first meeting, how excited and confident we were to achieve our dream home after meeting Soney! We ended up with a great design that met all of our family needs.

Simonds and Soney made building our house a joy! Simonds' paper work is held at a very high standard and we were kept informed every step of the way. We appreciate both Tamara F (our customer relations coordinator at Point Cook office) and Soney for always being available to answer any questions that we had.

Soney was wonderful with all the finer details that we wouldn't have thought of and even now that we live in our house...it still feels like our dream home! Thanks to Soney's architectural knowledge :)

We would highly recommend building with Simonds home and make sure you contact Soney as he would give 100% to his clients so that they can achieve their unique home design, today and into the future.

Not enough room for me to write how extremely disappointed and frustrated I have been with Simonds home. This has been the most terrible experience in my life.

I started my quote preparation with Simonds’s Sale consultant in end of June 2017 at Simonds Homes Geelong sales office (Mount dunned). I made it very clear for the sale consultant at the beginning that my maximum budget to build my home could not exceed a certain amount. He confirmed that it will never exceed and every change made in the design the costing was included the quote and he had received approval for the final quote, from his Building Manager and Draftsman and that there would not be any hidden cost or extra costs. I have also paid more for the fixed site cost (including the retaining wall and etc) because I was going to make sure that I am not paying anything and be surprised afterwards. I had gone through every details with the Sales Consultant and ensured that every additional costing was included in the final quote before signing the final quote and he assured me that every cost have been approved by Building Manager and Draftsman and already included. After two months I signed the final quotation and payed the full deposit and my gallery appointments were booked. Only few days before my gallery appointments I was emailed by Simonds Geelong and been informed that the tender is not ready and I should wait more for the final tender including the house design before going to gallery appointment which was very weird for me. The result was cancelling my gallery appointment and postponing the final contract signing day to one month later.

After one month’s frustration and waiting, I was shocked and disappointed with the content of the 'tender' document. Not only is the tender document totally different to the initial quote, it contains additional new cost that I was reassured I would not be charged.
The tender document contains information and new costing about the design alternation (opposed to what we agreed on and signed in the final quote) and in addition to that the tender document mentions new things which has never even been discussed or raised with me, by Sale consultant or any representative of Simonds Homes. I found there to be approximately 10 errors and an additional $ 13,000 plus in costs which was shocking even before going to gallery appointment.

After a few days I have been called by Simonds general manager and been told that if I cannot pay this extra money I better to go and build with another builder. He did not even care that I have lost 4 months of my life waiting for them to build my home. This was not a good start, this was due to the unprofessional and incompetent behaviour by Simonds team. I have even sent a complaint to the head office and asked them to rectify the issue but have not been contacted from head office or even complaint department at all so far. This proves to me how incompetent the Simonds Homes are.

This is the way Simonds dealing with customers. I have been deceived and misled by their sale consultant to pay the deposit, sign with them and waste my four months time and they don’t even care about the rest because this is how they make money.

I am deeply disappointed now more than ever that I have chosen to build with your company and cannot wait for this pain staking experience to end.

I hope this gives other customers an insight as to how this company operates and treats its valued customers. Save yourself the stress, time and money and build with quality builders.

As I have not heard back from head office or complaint department, this has left me no choice other than lodging a formal complaint to Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria soon.

Really good experience so far

After searching through builders for months we decided to go through Simonds at Bellbird Park where we dealt with Rod during the initial sales and sign up stage. Rod was very honest and professional and easy to deal with. He gave us good advice on land and the best way to position the home for best outcome. We have had a couple of hiccups on the way and even though we are now dealing with a CRC with simonds Rod will still answer all my questions and has even supported us when Simonds originally said no to the positioning of our driveway. we are now at the contract signing stage and our CRC Maria has also been really easy to deal with. We were in dispute about the driveway for about 2 weeks and in the end she gave us great options so we can have the driveway where we want it. As first time builders I am really happy with the amount of support we are receiving. I will do another review during build but so far the experience has been great - Sarah

Amazing experience, service and support

Our experience from the very beginning was excellent the salesman offered us the perfect home in the perfect position. Everything that was promised was fulfilled, our home was finished earlier than expected , the build quality is excellent , our home is very solid and comfortable. We had absolutely zero issues with the entire process from the beginning to the end, absolutely no problems at all with the build or the process, really amazing.The whole team at Bendigo really looked after us and we have nothing but admiration and gratitude for the way they treated us throughout the entire process.Our Building Supervisor Anthony was absolutely excellent, he always made sure everything was running efficiently and was completed to a high standard. The customer service and support has continued to be nothing short of excellent even after our home was completed. Any questions or concerns we have had since our home has been completed has been very quickly addressed . I can truly recommend Simonds as they deliver everything that is promised and are always excellent and prompt in addressing any concern you may have prior, during and after your home is built. So a big thank you from us for building our beautiful home we are very comfortable and love the experience of living in our Simonds home.

Our Simonds experience began with Utam who was amazing, he answered all of our questions, and being first home buyers we had lots. We then went to gallery with Jess who was also really helpful and helped us to put everything we wanted into our home on budget.
Jessica is our CRC and has been there every step of the way updating us on every stage and what is to come next. Cayde is our site supervisor and has kept us well informed all the way through the build. Our house is almost at completion stage, we have only noticed two slight things that were either wrong or not as to plan but this was rectified immediately. Overall we have had a great experience and would look to build with Simonds QLD again.

Hi I recently built a house in Point cook with Simonds . The contract said that Blinds will be installed to all the windows. My question is our loan didn't happen the bank didn't lend us the money we put $2500 dollars deposit, we contacted the sales consultant in regards of getting our deposit back. This is their reply to us, Please remember that the deposit paid for the build of the home was only refundable up until we put your file into head office. A lot of work has gone into preparing your build up until this point in time, and this is where your $2500 would have already been absorbed. I don't understand, what work? , so we get penalized by simonds for not getting the loan from the bank, we're told varies of time we will get our deposit back if the loan was not approved, I even try to postponed the day selecting seccion. Cause at that stage we haven't hear from the bank regarding of the loan. Now who do I contact to get my deposit back? The head office Accurent affair or Australia fair trade.

Simons sale consultant has two number my Number and my nephews Alan we will appreciate if they can contact my nephew, I was trying to help him to buy his first home is getting harder and harder to buy a house and sadly the loan was not approved, with his low income he will not be able to ever buy a house. I don't have a build number but what I got is the a number on the receipt of the deposit Key #Q3629.

Has anyone build in upper point cook with Simonds or dealt with them? What are your thoughts? I'm not so happy with the customer service at the moment.
