Not very happy – Have this oven as well as the normal oven side by side. Lucky I got the extended 5 year warranty as we have had the repair guy out multiple times. Our steamer oven is rusted and even though it was under warranty the guy just said you should not use salt when you cook in this oven... Um okay, it is an oven, you cook food, you use salt in cooking food? Crazy! So I am stuck with a rusted out combi steamer which cost $5000+ which was not even over the 5 year warranty period while writing this review

Edit. For anyone wondering... AEG has basically ignored this due to being outside the warranty period. From when they contacted me on here... Even though the repair man came out during the warranty period when this issue was raised. Even though this review was left before the warranty period ended.

Added some pictures in my original post. The rust in an area has actually made a hole in the base of the oven. I have been contacted by someone too has had the same thing happen to them. AEG deny any fault. The product is obviously faulty, but they won't admit it. Avoid at all costs!!

Excellent – Love it love it love. The best oven I have ever owned!! Combination steam is the way to go folks. Two ovens in one! Its really easy to use and I've found steam cooking is very forgiving - almost impossible to get a bad result. At over $5000 it isn't the cheapest oven on the market, however I really have no regrets after 6 months.

I loved this oven until it rusted within 5 years of purchase date.

Can't believe such an expensive oven can rust within 5 yrs!!! It got to show expensive ovens are not always the best. What do you think of Swiss made V Zug combi steam ovens?

I am sad to hear about the oven rusting so soon... I am researching both the V Zug combi steam oven and the Fagor combi steam oven however have not found any current reviews. Has anyone tried either of these combi steam ovens?

my folks wipe out their standard steam oven (once cooled:-) ) after each use. Is this necessary, ahat was your maintenance routine? is it really necessary each time?

We loved our AEG steam oven too until ours also corroded just beyond the five year mark. We used it constantly and lit lived up to our expectations. To the best of our knowledge we followed all cooking and cleanig instructions. The unit cannot be fixed and we have to replace the oven. Did not take out the extra warranty and we told by the company that had we done so they would replace the unit. As we did not, tough luck. Given our experience we would be relunctant to consider another reservoir based oven and definitely not an enamel interior.

My second AEG steam oven is no rusted, and the AEG / Electrolux company denies that this ever happened. The onformation on this site was interresting. My first oven had to be returned because of steam forced its way into the electronic system! So, the latest damagged one, being the oven nr 3, it seems to be a case in the Norwegian consumer system, as we have an automatic 5 years garantee for such products.
