My partner had a great flight – My partner had a great flight to sydney and will do it more often. He loved the view coming low into sydney airport. Took lots of photos as well. This flight was smooth all the way Show details

Terrible delays.Faster by car – I have been waiting for 3.5 hours in the airport and expected to wait another 90 minutes for a flight from Newcastle to Dubbo. Initial flight departure was scheduled at 630. This was changed to 830. At 835 we were told to go and grab a 7 dollars voucher as the flight is further delayed until 10. No Alternative routes can be planned. They can… Read more

only offer a 7 dollar voucher and an apology. Not convenient at all. Much faster to drive instead of flying with this 20 seater sofa single engine aircraft. I can only hope to arrive safely.

Poor on time performance – I regularly fly aeropelican on the Sydney Narrabri route. I have had multiple incidents of late departures sometimes up to 10 hours. My recent experience says it all. The scheduled Monday morning flight was delayed for over an hour because the ore flight inspection discovered ball spots on the tyres. Now as an aircraft owner and operator myself… Read more

I know that ball spots do no occur overnight. They would have been a work in progress. To suddenly decide the aircraft is unworthy on a Monday morning speaks volumes about the airlines incompetence. This should have already been flagged and replaced.

Expensive and unreliable. Poor on time performance for narrabri route although I notice Cobar always departs on time

Poor customer service – The almost first time, and definitely last time I fly Aeropelican. The flight was cancelled and we weren't even notified. The re-scheduled time was 10 hrs later. When we asked for a full refund because we'd need to make alternative arrangements to make it to our destination in time, they only agreed to refund the leg that they rescheduled. … Read more

Nevermind that we couldn't fly to our destination to begin with, we were still supposed to fly home!

The situation was escalated to the manager, and although she eventually agreed to provide a full refund - getting to this point was painful. Rules of customer services, common curtesy and respect have been forgotten at Aeropelican.

Terrible – Terrible customer service - have just been left standed in Sydney because they have cancelled the flight without letting me know. They say they tried to call, but I think I would remember being told there would be no flight tonight (for no apparent reason - perhaps they just do this when they aren't fully booked). I would have arranged an… Read more

alternative but instead I'm left at Kingsford Smith with no option but to catch a train to Central and then another (pretty horrible City Rail) train to Newcastle. I'll never use them again. It flies from Sydney to Newcastle (when they don't cancel your flight without notice that is!) They cancel flights without notice leaving you stranded

Don't rely on Aeropelican to make a connecting flight – The flight to Sydney today was cancelled after passengers had checked in. We were told the planes were both 'out of service'. Staff member was polite and professional, but no apology was offered. The staff member suggested to all passengers that they hire a car and drive to Sydney. My husband missed his flight from Sydney to Jakarta, car trip… Read more

took significantly longer than the time given by the Aeropelican staff member.

Plane was unable to leave the ground.

Terrifying! – Without a doubt, the scariest thing I have ever done in my life! I have been on many different planes, of all different shapes and sizes, but have never before been so sure that the damn thing was going to drop out of the sky! The whole plane swung from side to side as it flew! It arrived.... Scary as all hell!

Good – Aeropelican Airlines is a great regional airline with a lot to offer. Their aircraft are well maintained and the staff are very friendly. Their fares are low and they have a good frequency of flights between Sydney and Newcastle. Their pilots are professional and have always been helpful to myself and my fellow passengers - remembering there is no… Read more

Flight Attendant on their aircraft. While they are great in the air and on the ground, they really need to improve their customer contact options. If you email a company with questions, you expect a reply. I have never received an email reply from Aeropelican for any of my questions, but while disappointing, at the end of the day, they do have a phone number you can call. Overall a great regional airline with many positive aspects. Reliable and friendly staff, clean and well maintained aircraft, good range of flights on the Sydney - Newcastle - Sydney route and low fares I have found that Aeropelican do not answer emails about bookings and current reservations. I have emailed them on a number of occasions after booking asking questions regarding upcoming travel - yet received nothing in response

Excellent – This is a fast and convenient way to get from Newcastle to Sydney and vice versa. The ashtrays in the back of the seats are a bit disconcerting (no you can't use them!) and I suppose for the uninitiated looking through the front window over the pilots shoulders can be unnerving but I like it. Also the planes are small but I have been in a thunder… Read more

storm onboard and it was all fine. On time, friendly staff- very personable and helpful, they will move your flight for free if there is room and you are early (and even offer to do this before you ave the chance to ask!). If you haven't flown Aeropelican before you might not quite get told where to go to get on the flight. Not that you'll be left behind, just htat they kind of assume you know that you have to go downstairs and get on a bus to take you to the plane. This is generally okay thought because many of the passengers are regulars and they'll let you know what to do.

OK – I think this is a great option as it makes it very easy to have face to face meetings without the train or car option. However the train is really easy and by the time you have gotten to the airport in time for check in and then departed you are not saving a huge amount of time. I have also found some of the flights cancelled without sufficient… Read more

warning to make other arrangements. It is fantastic to have a flight between Sydney and Newcastle, especially for business meetings I haven't found the customer service as reliable as I'd like, especially with cancelled flights
