Would not buy this brand again, this machine was a replacement after my initial purchase (was an 8 or 9 kg machine) was replaced because it didn't work from the day I bought it, the replacement's control panel broke under warranty so it was fixed, then while still under warranty the drum starting having issues with being really noisy and… Read more

vibrating, because of the previous issues it was replaced with a 10kg machine, but the replacement machine that was delivered was a 2nd hand one. This was picked up and replaced with a new one. I received the new one in November 2016 and for the most part it's been good. I particularly like the duvet cycle. I do not like the child lock on it purely because you can still turn the machine off and on by the power button on the control panel even when the child lock is engaged, if it's turned off you have to restart the whole cycle again. The front of the detergent door has broken off and the metal area around the detergent door has rusted badly. This machine's drum has now suddenly started being really noisy and making grinding noises, it sounds like a ✈ is taking off in my laundry. I'm just waiting for it to die (unless the neighbors complain about the noise of it first). I definitely will not be getting another of this brand.

Similar Knob problem with Aqualtis AQ7L 05 U – It is interesting that we had the same problem, a few years ago now, with the knob freewheeling and computer stalling . My son was able to remove the knob and found that a crack in the knob mounting had been repaired by holding it together with a miniature cable tie - we had purchased the machine new!! He repositioned the dial, returned the knob,… Read more

and it has been washing on the same cycle since. The computer plays up frequently, but we just turn the power off and wait a while ( shades of 'The IT Crowd!) before resuming. At least we haven't paid numerous site visit fees to repair men ... I have always been happy with wash results.

Disappointing Ariston – The machine washes well - I wouldn't say any better than my previous LG. This is my 2nd ariston, the first rusted through at the front within the 3 yr warranty period. More rust and corrosion – I owned an Ariston AQ9F29U and due to rust, paint bubbling and balck mould on the rubber seals I contacted Ariston about my issue. They graciously replaced my machine with a AQ94F49D AUS in 2016. I pride myself on keeping my appliances clean but am very disappointed at the same issues occurring with this machine too. surrounding the detergent dispenser drawer and now there is corrosion. My question is that constantly on the Product Review site the mention of a 5 year warranty but on my Warranty card it states that the warranty only applies for 2 years and that paint work , rust and corrosion is not covered by the warranty. This is why I have never contacted the service division after May 2018. Can someone please enlighten me?

A washing machine that completely fails to clean – I wash my husband's synthetic work shirts on 60-degree wash cycle for synthetics. I used to complain of him smelling of a cattle truck but ignored it until his boss complained of it also. Believing his clothes weren't cleaning properly, he took them out of the Ariston after a long, 60degree cycle and hand-washed them with the same detergent.… Read more

Within 2 minutes, the water turned brown. (see pic) with oil slicks. He emptied the water and repeated the process, turning the water brown another 2 times. Also, our white sheets washed on a hot bed n bath cycle with good detergent are yellow. They never come out white but after handwashing them, they do. I called Harvey Norman, where they were purchased with an extra payment for a product care replacement deal. They wriggled out of it with the technicality of not reporting it the moment we realised it was not washing properly. Bear in mind, it has never washed properly; we just didn't realise it until we decided to handwash the garments to prove this. I recall when the sales consultant was praising the Ariston, saying you could jam it full and it would still wash. Obviously, I have tried various cycles and do not fill it as this sales pitch clearly did not make sense. An ex sales consultant at Harvey Norman told us that Ariston was total rubbish but that they were paid a generous commission to push their sales. Basically, I think the machine just doesn't use enough water. What's the point of water-saving if it doesn't clean? See pics below. Shirt hand-washed after a 60degree synthetic wash almost 2 hours long. Second photo is a second wash with fresh water. Absolutely filthy.

Full of rust – Most disappointed. My machine is 2 years old and the rust in it is incredible. It has stopped working due to the fact you can poke your finger through it where the door mechanism is.

Rusty screws around detergent dispenser – In the 2 and a bit years since purchasing this front load washer we have had 2 replacements under warranty. The screws around the detergent dispenser rust & then it spreads corrosion to the main body of the machine. Ariston have honoured their warranty & replaced the machine twice now. They also on one occasion sent a replacement screw of the same… Read more

material which was useless because it too rusted. The machine itself seems to work well and has a good array of wash cycles and programs. It is a shame that they have used inappropriate screws that corrode. For this reason I have rated the washing machine with a one star and would never buy another Ariston washer again. At this rate we may never have to buy another machine because they will continue to need replacement under warranty!!

FLAGSHIP MODEL, – We do 5-7 loads a week consistently for 5 years, using top quality non-filler added washing detergent & it worked very well. We tend to buy above average QUALITY/ RELIABILITY and not have to worry about minor issues as such as it gets older which is why we chose their premium flagship model washer in 2013. When we purchased it was very quiet on… Read more ·  1

the spin cycle. Then after almost 3 & 1/2 years, the MC started to sound louder and louder on the spin cycle, louder in I mean its noisier than the planes that take off overhead in the inner city ON THE SPIN CYCLE so much so that we have to close the laundry door now and run no higher than a 600rpm spin cycle.

When empty and you move the drum from side to side you can feel that it's a bearing that's starting to wear out. Only time will tell when it goes. So to fix it would've been a $6-700+ outlay.

Anyway, its 1 day to 5 years ago we bought this flagship Premium model MC and at a premium price I must say too from the ever happy to take your hard earned cash money Harvey Norman and no we didn't go for their extended warranty extra dollars that they offer you to pay at the time of purchase.

What gets me is, at the back of the SALES brochure it states 5-year warranty "Total Peace Of Mind" & when you get the machine installed with the paperwork comes a 2-year warranty registration leaflet?

So I rang Ariston service, I spoke to Debbie who is the 2 years plus warranty assistant. She was right in as such that it was a 5-year warranty and that I should supply certain items to prove that it was an issue inside the warranty period.

She ploughed my case for me to the technicians/ manager and low and behold I receive a phone call back a day later stating yes it's under warranty and I'll be receiving a new machine @ F.O.C!

Well, this made my day as I was feeling a bit flat that day and to have this good news was a real pep up and a win.

Thankyou Ariston for your decision and we look forward to the new replacement.

It pays to keep receipts and all paperwork sometimes.

Awesome machine. I can not fault it at all – This is a very good machine. I’ve been using this machine for 3years. Really happy with it. Spinning and washing cycles are super silent. Ok-good water rating and good energy ratings. Various technologies in the machine works well. I thought of writing the review since I saw several bad reviews for the machine. I my opinion most people… Read more

either don’t read and understand how the machine works or just don’t follow the instructions and then blame the machine. Doesn’t make sense to me.

I’ve used it for 3 years. No mould at all. I just leave the door open for couple of hrs after eash wash. Run a rub cleaning cycle with white vinegar once a month. That’s it. I don’t baby sit the machine. Just few regular things.

The only issue I have now is a damaged door seal. I’m not sure whether it’s poor materials or physical damage. I’m more inclined towards the latter. I suspect it caught something of a garment and that would have caused it.

However, I got it for close to 1000 bucks thanks to one of my mates who used to work for the company. I know RRP is around double. I’m happy for the money I paid though.

Update: re: the door seal; I called the company just to order the part hoping to pay for it (since I throught it was physical damage plus I couldn’t find the reciept). To my surprise they only asked how old the machine is and sent the part FOC. I admire their customer serivce.

Cycle select knob problem – Purchased 2014 (can't remember, but will put down June until I retrieve the receipt.Everything great until cycle select knob seemed to not be working. They called Ariston, but couldn't make contact beyond… Read more

queue. They emailed them, I got call from them. Helpful customer assistance person. Told most likely the knob was freewheeling (my words), a common fault on this model. All plastic where mounts on the shaft. Said simple to change (pulls straight off), happy to send me one for free and I could likely change it. New knob reinforced with metal. Delivery problem, but got to us.

Knob wouldn't pull off with the force I was prepared to use given it's attached to a much more expensive and sensitive part (or so I reasoned). The new part had lugs that lock on, and would need to be manipulated a bit to remove it (tiny screwdrivers might get to them after the knob cover is levered off easily). Assume the old is similar. Called Ariston, told this time that the warranty doesn't cover knobs and seals, but they would put me through to their technical department for advice. No answer, returned to original person and given assurance they would call me the next day. Silence.

A little disappointed with this. Seals, fair enough. Nice to send me a free knob, but given they are prepared to admit it is a common problem and that the replacement part was improved, I would have expected a 2 minute call to give me the good oil on removal technique.

Will attempt to remove today. Couldn't find any info on internet, other than similar problems, one response to a cry for help describing my experience, but with no removal problem and a different model. Didn't go into technique though. It's still possible that force will get it, but I really don't want to create more problems.

Tried again, but resorted to drilling two series of small holes in the knob, using the new one for guidance, resulting in me being able to remove the outer part of the knob and then being able to release the inner part. Pushed the new knob on, and after clicking into place was ready to go.

Machine still seems to be washing well.

The Best Machine! – I love my Ariston washing machine. For years he has comfortably co-existed with his humans, making hardly a whisper of noise, warming my laundry and chatting quietly to my dryer about his pride in his job. Disappointed Greatly – I have to say that this is not my favourite machine. This is my second 10kg front loader by Ariston and it is WAY SMALLER than our first 10kg machine ( I know all the machines went down in barrel size which was a disappointment to start off with, having 7 people in the house my first machine size was great not only for clothes but for doonas and… Read more

blankets ) and doesn’t wash as much and to no where the standard of my first machine . The Aquiltis I have now I have had for a long while and has rusted in a couple of places, right around the powder dispenser draw area ( some of the rust actually falls into the powder draw ) and around the hole where the door locks in . Just waiting for something to rust enough to fall off . Can’t say I can give much of a rating at all in most areas. Based on this machine alone wouldn’t recommend as poor quality materials used in construction alone has turned my opinion.

Machine failed when warranty expired – Machine was fantastic for the first 5 years. Though would have expected 10 years out of a top brand machine. Now in it's 6th year the selector knob is broken - just freespinning and the electric door lock has failed. Dreadful – Our first one completely died within 2 years. Credit to Harvey Norman, they replaced it with a new one. The machine does not wash well, I often have to rewash things. Rust, mold and lucky I had warranty as it could of been a ride off after 10 months – We bought the machine from Harvey Norman Auburn back in 2010. although the instrument has been leaking at the base for the last 3-4 years and as a result we have had increased in rust developing around the base of the instrument. The rust has eaten away around the legs so we now have to support the base for the machine to remain sturdy. There is rust also around the detergent loader, and the rubber seal is all moldy. It does a reasonable job cleaning although it's not as gentle as promised on purchase. We bought the machine on Harvey Normans recommendation that is would be a good machine, so far it has lasted 7 years and still working to a reasonable standard, although the leaking is enough for us to replace with a new one. The price purchased was at $1100.00 although we were expecting at least 15 years of rust, leaks and fungus free. the biggest issue with the machine is that the ongoing water leak has also dampened our laundry and we are now experiencing items such as doors absorbing the water vapour, eventually this will cause mold growing on the wall if not replaced.
