Ariston BS 1400

Awesome Machine – We have had this washing machine for nearly 10 years with few issues, have not spent a cent on repairs. Machine walks because of drainage slope on floor, fixed by putting on a rubber backed mat. It has just now come up with a f-02 error, finding info on this is impossible. Capacity, value for money, reliability. Finding list of fault codes for this model, how hard can it be to have a website with this basic info, found it for other models.

Don't even consider it!!! – Glad that Ariston took this one off the market…it just won’t stay in the laundry and tries to leave via the door 70% of the time. My constant reminder that I owned this machine is cracked tiles and gouges out of the timber floor boards as it made its way across the laundry on spin cycle. I fought the big fight with Ariston for 2 years and after three replacement machines, which all did exactly the same thing, finally got an 8kg replacement which we use in the shed as I had to purchase another washing machine (not Ariston) or wash clothes by hand for a family of five for the two years it took Ariston to finally decide to replace the machine with another model. For the price I paid I expected much better performance from the machine and from Ariston’s customer service team. I would consider this machine extremely dangerous if you have small children or pets as it will run them down. Initially the size but it was not worth it. It walks and destroys everything in its path...don't let children in the room when it is going!

A large piece of junk! – The only thing I like about this machine is its capacity, which certainly comes in handy when washing numerous towels and/or bed linen. It moves all over the laundy and shakes the whole house when spinning off, thus we now having numerous cracks in our walls. Despite leaving the door open when not in use, the seal is constantly covered in grime and mould. I have had to throw a number of my children's socks in the bin, as small items get stuck between the soap dispenser and door seal and often take a few washes to come free again (staining them with mould and grime).

For the money I spent on this machine I am greatly disappointed and will not be buying any Ariston products ever again! Its capacity Poor design

OK – This machine does a good job of washing clothes and I LOVE the capacity - I can wash all bedding (sheets & pillow cases) from a queen size bed plus 2 single beds plus a cot in ONE load with room to spare for a few extras. However, it doesn't seem to be able to spin out properly all the time and the machine will either walk all over the laundry (we've had it almost smash our sliding glass laundry door), or will not spin enough water out of the clothes leaving them too wet. This does not happen every load, but often enough that I would not recommend it. Ariston have been out several times to repair it and replace parts, but the problem continues. We are presently trying to have it replaced. It's a shame, as it would otherwise be perfect for us. Huge capacity!

Long cylce times - up to 2 hrs for some programs.
