Asko HI1661 – Generator has failed 3 times twice under warranty very unreliable paid $2399 and expected much better service from a product in this price range. Wrote a letter to Asko they didn't even respond. Would never buy another Asko.
It's now July and despite Asko offer to help back in April to resolve this issue I still have a faulty cooktop which is now reduced to one reliably working element at a time. Now even more disappointed. Service department hand balled to technical department and still no resolution.

Yes, Asko again sent out a technician back on 10th July and despite the technicians recommendation on his report that both generators needed replacing Asko service have failed to follow this up in any way (not even a phone call to discussion options with me) . I can accept that occasionally appliances fail - I just can't accept Asko's appalling customer service. The only time Asko have communicated with me about this issue is in reaction to my comments in this public forum. I have wasted too much of my life on this already whenI can afford it I will be replacing the cooktop with another brand.
Just spent $599 and replaced this cooktop with a Smaklig from IKEA. At that price I'm not expecting it to last forever but at least I can cook with more than one element again!
Two years down the track I'd like to report that my cheap IKEA cooktop has worked flawlessly so far but with a 5 year warranty I still have at least 3 good years left! I will never buy Asko again.
Cooktop has only lasted just over two years – We bought an Asko based on los of reviews but we have had nothing but trouble with it and the other Asko products we bought. THe oven and dishwasher were repaired under warranty but took over 6 months to get fixed. (Last Winter in fact) and now there are no lights on the cooktop and it isn't working. Only lasted two years and warranty service from ASKO in general was woeful
