A journey of frustration- a positive update by Joseph Tan – ASKO Customer Service Officer.contacted me to initiate a resolution. ASKO technician finally came to swiftly and efficiently replaced an electronic controller system part to resolve the problem as stated in Point 5 of original review. No bill to pay as goodwill gesture over the Christmas season. Appreciation - add another star!
disappointment in the extreme – Dealing with this company is an absolute nightmare. When Asko "lost" my purchases that I had paid for two and a half MONTHS previously they couldn't trace where the two products were even within their own system, continually blaming the store (which had not received them) and then the courier company (which they own!) The NSW Manager called me "unsympathetic" and "inconsiderate" because the delivery driver "could have been lying in a gutter somewhere" for the last week. I was told that a replacement was being sent, but a week later I found out that that had not been the case. The NSW Manager then told me he would personally see that it was put on the truck on the Friday and that it would be here on the Monday. Then on the Tuesday, when it still hadn't arrived, I was told it was just being off-loaded from a container. The NSW Manager was then angry that he had to send the Asko truck out with the oven and stovetop - how inconsiderate I was being! His offer as compensation for the month of lies and rudeness was to "throw in the set of saucepans" - which were included in the original package I paid for. I then spoke to the Australian Manager, who said his offer was an extended warranty. It is now over two months since that offer was made, and I am still getting the run-around.
As far as the products go, they are not worth the $5000. I have had two convection microwaves before, and the shoddy/flimsy instruction manuals supplied are REALLY low budget. The oven manual mentions the "turntable", but that has clearly not been updated since they did away with that years ago. It takes ages to get to temperature on the conventional oven setting, and then it cooks unevenly. Buy Miele instead!!
lousy instruction manuals, the oven is inefficient and heats unevenly, customer service is so far off the beam it is non-existent, and the rudeness of the NSW Manager is mind-boggling.
Beware poor ordering system!! – I never actually got to use my induction cooktop/oven/rangehood package that I had ordered 3 mths before, as when we rang to arrange delivery, ASKO were out of stock of this cooktop and had replaced it with a different model, which was quite different and not what we wanted. We had paid over $1200 deposit and the goods were sold to someone else!! Beware when you place an order with this company, their system does not actually allocate your appliance to you. They did reimburse our deposit after some to and fro. We did keep the dishwasher which is fine (although they delivered the wrong model initially!!) I had a previous ASKO dishwasher for 17 years, so was very disappointed with this service. Reading other reviews of their cooking appliances, we are glad it all fell through!! We went and bought Meile oven/cooktop which has been great so far!!
They didn't have the goods to deliver!!
