Poor example of a microwave – A major component of this machine failed with a few months - I recall it was out of warranty, cost something like $200.00 to fix. Now we ca'nrt find the amual and can't find how to set the time!
ASKO - built to last? Absolutely not! – We selected this microwave to fit into our new kitchen and designed cabinetry around it.It was expensive for a microwave but we were tols ASKO is at the premium end and we were able to get he integration kit so we thought it was worth the extra. The first machine stopped working after 3 months and it was replaced under warranty. The replacement machine stopped working within two years and this is where the fight started. Apparently the warranty goes from the date of ORIGINAL purchase.
After several phone calls and follow ups - all on our part - they make lots of promises and NEVER return call - they agreed to repair it under warranty. Then started the saga of technician visits / waiting for parts/ chasing to see what has happened / taking time off work to get the parts fitted to be told oh it needs another part(s). Eight weeks later and we are told that we are eligible to have the machine replaced once again under warranty. But the model has been discontinued (I wonder why???) so we have been offered the option of a) continued repairs on our existing machine which has already had at least four new parts and is still not working;; b) a much larger machine which will not fit and we have to pay for the kitchen alterations or c) a refund. WE have opted for the refund and will never touch ASKO again - the product quality and service are the worst I have seen. The design Where do I start - everything - it doesn't work
