Pros: ASUS are becoming a major company selling computer components, and their computer monitors are actually a very nice monitor. this model uses a set of modes called "Splendid" which adjust the colour and the screen size to make the best possible picture. using windows vista and a decent graphics card, you can display 2 windows simultaneously, and with the DVI Input as well, you can obtain an exceptional image from a standard half decent computer. the speakers included on the monitor are also decent, and the monitor, unlike some has actually been finished very nicely. when i opened the box, i found the aus. power cord, the VGA and the DVI cables, but also found 2 foreign power cables. you would think that a company would include only the cable for the country which it is being shipped to, but they include more than one cable. this is fantastic if you choose to move overseas, as you can just take the new cord and not worry about power convertors etc.
Cons: when you look directly at a section of the monitor from a distane of approximately 35-40cm which is about normal text reading distance, you will notice that the monitor has a slight sort of flicker in it, but with a decent graphics card, not the internal motherboard ones, this problem vanishes. another weird problem is the splendid modes do not take effect instantly, but can take up to 5 seconds to take effect, which makes it difficult to assess which mode is the best if you are in a hurry.
Overall: generally, ASUS are a very nice manufacturer of computer parts which a built very sturdy and have been finished very well. with having all of the inputs on the back, plus the excellent Splendid modes, a very nice monitor if you are looking to make your computer look and perform execptionally!
