worst – I don’t wanna give even 1 star to australia post, i moved at new place and i ordered so many items from different websites and they delivered my parcel through australia post. And every time australia post send me an e-mail that they are unable to deliver my parcel or due to weather they are taking my parcel to nearest post office, Even if i’m at home still they take my parcel to PO. Absolutely Hopeless – Third time using Shopmate (and the last). Four cases opened and still waiting for issue to be resolved. If anything goes wrong don't expect any contact with Shopmate support for at least two days. The website itself can be a minefield for the unwary. Easy hassle free way of shipping from the US to AUS – I ordered some items from Zara USA and had them shipped to my shopmate address hassle free, i then paid for postage and it was shipped to my door within 3 weeks! It did say i would have received it sooner however it was held up in Sydney, not overseas. I was surprisingly pleased with the service after reading the bad reviews and taking the gamble anyway. Good value, item received quickly – The shipping cost ended up being very close to the estimate provided by the calculator on the website. The process was easy enough to navigate. This was a far cheaper option than going with the US seller's $120USD shipping charge. I paid about $106 incl the $50 GST for the Carburettor I ordered. The estimated shipping time of 7 - 12 days seems ambitious given the current delays with mail movements within Australia. Two other packages now waiting in the system. They have given me 50 days of free storage which seems very generous. If I ship them together there is a AUD8 discount on the second package. Rates seems quite reasonable for standard shipping. shipment and 4kg (!!!) package. Called Auspost and was told that "because of dimensions I must pay for 4KG" which was not going to happen. Raised a ticket with them to have it repackaged (actual product would fit in a small parcel ant weighs about just 150g), and had no response for two months. No way to create a repackaging request directly because "this service it not available for this order". Tried to follow up with a phone call but there is no way to speak with ShopMate team. The service is still sending email demanding that i pay for the shipping, still no progress with the support ticket. Most likely will never get resolved, and I have lost my parts that are not available in Australia and 3 months of time. Absolutely horrible, dysfunctional service, the shipping costs look like a lottery and estimates are inaccurate. Highly disappointed, this is by far the worst service i received in Autsralia in a decade.
Dont bother – Ive had an account with them for quite a few years, used sporadically. They have just got worse and worse. Dont ship this dont ship that.. you expect? Ive paid their extortionate fees to get the vitamins I ordered shipped to another provider who WILL ship to Aus at half the cost. Once completed I’ll be closing the account forever. A complete waste of space

Cheap, Reliable + The customer service is STELLAR – Before I discovered Shopmate, I used alot of dodgy carriers that had ALOT of hidden fees. hold is extremelly short, and the customer service is always on point. All these people complaining about how “EXPENSIVE IT IS” forget that there are import tax fees associated with your parcel, so if your item is small but expensive, it is obviously gonna cost heaps because it’s based on multiple factors - not JUST weight and size. People also forget the manual work it takes to take your items, unpack them, repack them together (for you to save money!) and send them off. Maybe stick to your local Kmart if you’re on a tight budget, and only use this service if you EXTREMELLY must buy something from overseas.

Great Service – I read the negative reviews after already submitting payment for postage through shipmate and thought I'm doomed.. I had the opposite experience. My item shipped a day after paying the invoice and took 8 business days to arrive. I think the cost is reasonable, it's the ATO taking their clip that inflates the cost! Yeah... not using it again – UPDATE: The package actually arrived here safe after almost a month in transit. A good way of being able to gauge when your package will arrive in Australia from America is to check passenger flights from Portland to Sydney, as that's the only method the packages are transported. will probably never receive a useful human response regarding the status of my package.
As I am writing, it is the last estimated day for my package to arrive, yet it has not even updated since they "shipped" it 11 days ago. I have called ShopMate themselves and literally all they told me was my own tracking number that I already had, I sent a ticket to AusPost and they told me to CONTACT THE SELLER if my package didn't arrive by a certain date, despite them being the same company.
I must give credit where credit is due however, they did process my order through their warehouse and get $80 out of me very quickly, though the shipping of the product I paid for is not as quick.
The saddest part is that from reading this page, the only way for you to receive any help is to leave a terrible review.

Very Slow service from Shopmate and expensive – Let's just start off with the shipping price which has jumped up, I had to pay for a few more kgs than the actual weight of the item and it wasn't possible to repackage where normally it used to be around $60. so gave them a call 2nd August, got an update to tracking the next day all the way to it being processed in a facility South West Sydney, usually any other delivery I have gotten recently takes only a day or 2 after this stage of being processed in a facility, it has been 2 weeks and is still saying it has been delayed. I put in an enquiry with Shopmate today and they said it should still be on schedule and they will look into it. Being very close in proximity to the facility it was processed in, I don't see why this package hasn't been delivered and others have. The only difference is that this is going to a Parcel Locker, which I thought would be easier considering the current situation.
I don't think I will continue to use Shopmate or a Parcel Locker.
While I have had a good experience with Australia Post shipping domestically, they really need to step up their game on these International Parcels, especially with the high price tag of shipping and the sheer quantity of bad reviews they are accumulating here.

The slowest and most expensive way to ship from the USA – I purchased three items from different sellers in the USA. It too 3 months to get my packages, and probably 50 emails to shop mate, because they don't do anything unless you hassle them. service. You think you are doing the right thing by using the Aus Post service, but they do not care, they are slow, their system is garbage, they take zero responsibility and to cap it off they are the most expensive.
I notice someone from Aus Post has been responding to all these reviews. Perhaps their time would be better spent working to get peoples packages through the system and you wouldn't be so busy responding to the hundreds of terrible reviews.

Then is marked dangerous and they refuse to ship to AU without further confirmation. Confirmation was provided instantly & case goes under review.
AU post says they will respond within 2 business days, 10 days pass, 4 phone calls and still nothing! Finally at the 2 week mark they refuse to forward it but agree to send it back to the seller in the US, verbally quoted $10-15 to send it… Wait another 4 days and finally receive an invoice for $75 AUD to return it. Long story short, I WILL NEVER ever use Shopmate again, this is an absolute disgrace.
I just wish I had read these reviews before proceeding as each of the negative reviews are basically a carbon copy of the horrendous experience I endured.

Shame you can’t rate it 0 stars – This service is the worst I’ve ever had. I had a parcel arrive in the USA destined for Australia. Because the Parcel was $1,100 USD they required more information. I sent 3 emails over 4 weeks and none were answered until I called.
The email does say that there is delays and that they are human too, so don’t abuse them. Clearly this is a known issue.
Cannot believe I didn’t get a reply after 4 weeks. This service is an absolute joke and I will never use it again. Hopefully my parcel turns up before the end of the year, considering they slogged me $400 postage for a small Vacuum.

a tracking update from ShopMate. It has now been 13 business days and has been sitting at my local facility for a week. (15 minutes from my house) I have had two other local parcels pass through the same facility and arrive already. I have called three times and although the staff were helpful enough all they could say is I will have to wait longer. This experience has held me off on completing a job for 7 weeks and I still havn’t received the parcel. Absolutely terrible and $50? You’re joking mate! Never again.
23/8/21 Update: To date I have received zero information from Australia Post regarding my lost parcel. At this stage it has been sitting at a facility 15 minutes from my house for 12 business days. Not once has Australia Post Shop Mate tried to contact me or answer my questions other than to notify me via email they will be closing the cases open. I am currently pursuing a refund and reporting to ACCC.

Great if you want to get ripped a new one! – Got charged $180 for parcel forwarding from the US for this package (2 litre bottle for size reference). Despite weighing 2.5kgs was charged at a rate of 12.5kgs due to cubic size. An absolute rip off. than that, it’s good to have a service where you can order things that only shipped to the US, and mine was only late by a day or two, given lockdowns in Sydney that’s not too bad. Would use again for cheaper items.
