Customer service pretty shocking, rude on the phone – Customer service poor, rude and abrupt on the phone, not what you expect when your trying to use their services you would think they would be polite and courteous prior to hiring

Beware of toll penalties if rent form Balmain Rentals – I had bitter experience with Balmain rentals. They gave extremely rundown Ute and now I had to pay toll infringement because they didn’t even update me about that. that toll pay is my responsibility. I am happy to pay toll but why to pay 22+20 for toll administration whereas the actual toll amount is only nearly $8. Such a loss...

was just sent a toll infringement to my address but in another customers name. I rang them to get this sorted and the staff were extremely impolite even though this was their issue and wasted my precious time. I'll never rent from this company again.

unpaid tolls, both times they lied and we have the paper work to prove it. Do not give these people your credit card details. They keep them on file and debit the card a couple of months later falsely claiming they are for unpaid tolls. Also not possible. Credit cards have a 3 digit number secret number on the back they cannot access.

scared to drive it. The van was given to me without fuel, As soon as I realised I headed to the nearest service station, but didn't make it, so was left stranded on the roadside. They did send someone out to get it going, but they were sarcastic and implied it was my fault. The whole attitude of the staff is take or or leave it, they couldn't care less.

They actually debit your credit card $300 as a deposit, so not just a hold on your account, like most hire companies. Then they refund you the difference on your return. The debit goes through immediately, the refund takes 5 days. And they tell you that's the banks fault, not their shoddy business practices.

If you value your life and property don't hire from this mob!

hour one van appeared. To my surprise I was given the van with an empty tank. Horrible customer service. Save yourself the hassle and pay 10 dollars more somewhere else. Not worth it.The place is a dump.

A terrible experience – Renting a truck from Balmain rentals was terrible. The rear roller door was broken and would not close unless my mate stood inside and manually fed the links through with a screwdriver. Truck gearbox was faulty, would not downshift, very dangerous to drive in Sydney CBD. Not to mention very poor performance, took over a minute to reach 60 kph, making for dangerous merges. Buy some new trucks guys!

Definitely a hiring experience – I have dealt with Balmain Rentals on numerous occasions over the past couple of years. The price for hire is extremely reasonable at $49.50 for 4 hours if you replace the fuel at the end of your journey. Throughout the week I don't think you will have much of a problem with walking in and being able to hire what you're after but I recommend booking if you are hiring for the weekend. The line quickly grows on the weekend so I recommend getting in there nice and early as the booking process can take quite some time due to all of the required paperwork.

The staff have always been a friendly bunch, and you will soon see that they definitely know what they are doing as they process your booking in a timely fashion.

Handy to see they also sell boxes at a reasonable price and even supply blankets etc for protecting furniture at no extra cost. Affordable, friendly staff, big range to choose from Some of the hire utes / trucks can be a bit difficult to steer and change gear.

Never need to book, excellent rates, friendly staff – I have used Balmain Rentals at least 10 times in the past two years. Their range of utes and trucks for hire is extensive, and you never need to worry about booking in advance. For $50 you can hire a ute or a small truck for 4 hours which really is a great rate.
