I am loving it! – I purchased my Belling 3 months ago from Harvey Norman having put up with an electric cooker for 3 years (purchased by the husband) that was born faulty and a nightmare to do business with. Now I am in heaven! Cooking for up to 12 at a sitting 3 times a day and baking all our own bread daily, this cooker has performed like a champion. You can choose whether or not to use the fan forced option in the main oven and having the 2 separate ovens is extremely useful. The grill works very quickly too. Having the main oven door open sideways is a very nice feature which allows for a larger oven capacity. I find the cook top very easy to wipe clean as is the glass lid/splash guard. I even put me bread in the oven with the light on to prove, works a treat. Couldn't be happier.

So far, so good – We were looking for a stylish, inexpensive, natural gas stove that had reasonable reviews from Australian buyers. After much online searching, we came up with the Belling 60cm gas stove which looked reasonably good and could either be bought online through Prestige Appliances(PA) or through Harvey Norman (HN)Brisbane stores. We couldn't find any reviews of this stove on Australian websites including Product Review. However as this stove is made in the UK, there were lots of UK reviews and all in all, people seemed to review it quite positively. PA had the stove on sale (I think it must have been a model runout sale)but after a few negotiations with HN, they almost matched the price. If you combined their price, cheaper delivery and 4 year's extra extended warranty instead of the 3 years from PA, HN worked out to $19 more expensive. We've only been using the stove for a month and so far so good. The oven doesn't seem to be as hot as what the dial would suggest but I have now come to grips with that and if I want a 180 degree oven I set the dial to 220 etc. Things seem to cook well and in a reasonable time now that I've figured out the temperature variations. All in all it is a stylish little stove that is working well - so far. Uncommonly for a European appliance this stove has a separate grill which is a huge bonus. One thing about this model is that neither PA or HN supplied the stove with its glass lid, which is popped up when you are cooking and this becomes the splashback. In the UK the glass lid is a standard feature and on this model there are side slots which are obviously designed to take the glass lid. I see that PA are now offering a newer version of the Belling Gas Stove with the glass lid as part of the package. It would have been helpful to know this when we were purchasing, but the newer version is listed on sale at $1350 which is $100 more expensive than what we paid for ours and our price included delivery plus 4 years extended warranty. Stylish; separate grilling chamber which can also be used as a mini oven for small bakes; energy efficient natural gas Oven temperature discrepancies; stove did not come with glass lid which is part of UK package; stove does not feature a fan forced oven but I was aware of this when I purchased it

Has anyone had a problem with how low the oven is? Also the door opening sideways?

As an old fossil, I have trouble bending and kneeling down, we purchased this stove because of the ease of access due to the clever sideways opening door. We also had our unit placed on a 2" timber base just to make it even easier to get the goodies in and out of the oven. I highly recommend this product!

The glass lid is supposedly more of a hindrance than an asset according to the sales people who ALL steered me away from buying the appliance with the glass lid.!

Recently bought one of these ovens from Harvey Norman Dubbo (don't buy off these people they are hopeless), the product has turned up and was missing parts, i.e fan control button missing and leveling foot, not a good start for a packed and sealed new oven, QC controls musn't exsist within this company, when we receive and fit the new oven I will report further about the oven but now I don't really want to stick with this oven.

Can anyone else who bought this stove tell me if they can see the legs of the stove when looking at it front on. I never saw this stove on the floor at Harvey Norman, but the more I look at it in situ at home, the more I'm convinced it's missing a piece of panel or something from the front which would hide the levelling legs? Can someone let me know if they can see the levelling legs as well???

I want a side opening door but my family are sure that it will come back on me as a burn hazzard, any comments from someone who has used this stove?

After 12 months of using this unit....... I have had no issues with the door (or anything else for that matter). I guess to be sure it doesn't "come back on you" would be to make certain it is level when it is installed.

the knobs eventually fall to pieces and crack, and the Black Paint is a darn buggar to clean also constant smudging and stains very badly too. =( We were extremely disappointed with Our Belling oven, and wished to God we had bought another Brand Of oven, would never recommend it to Anyone.

our stove is coloured white so no issues with cleaning black paint. We have had one knob crack and eventually break. Haven't tried to get a replacement yet. Hope it isn't too stressful trying to get a replacement knob! I still don't know if I am missing a part as I can see the legs of the stove under the oven - can anyone tell me if there is some sort of panel that goes across this area??

there is a metal plate that covers the bottom of the oven, I had mine installed a few days ago and now that I look at it you can see the feet, you could fix this by covering it with brushed stainless laminate kick board cut down to fit. That's what I will be using when I get my cupboards installed, it will blend as I have used this method before. I am not happy that the knobs are plastic! very disappointing considering I paid 8.5k for this cooker. My oven is stainless.
