Billion BiPAC 7402VGP

Good – It is great piece of equipment by billion. It has surpassed all of my expectations. It is really stable. Just configure it and forget. You would rarely require to restart to get the "power recycle" done as you would have to do with most of the routers periodically and much more frequently in comparison to this one. The lengthiest session lasted for 62 days and 20 hours when I restarted it for a firmware upgrade. Billion router added further delight to my broadband experience
There are a few limitation to the web interface:
1. There is a maximum limit of mac addresses you can include in the wireless access list and neither there is a way to label them, which sometimes becomes a hassle when you have to hunt for the device - mac address mapping
2. The wireless range is average and is good for small home. Stable
2 Voip Ports - highly configurable
simple web interface Price
Wireless range is average
Limited number of hosts which can be added to the mac address list with no option of putting a label to them
Excellent – The billion internet modem is a great modem especially for ADSL2+ internet connections. It can reach enormous download speeds and also has capability of connecting four seperate computers up to the single modem. As well as numerous computers with its wireless connection. This really is a top end product. I have been using this for over 2 years and have had no problems at all. The only bad thing in my opinion, is it costs a fair bit more than other routers. But you get what you pay for. Connecting it is so simple. All you do is connect the phone, ethernet and power chords in and voila! its all ready to go. Easy to connect, fast connection price
OK – This Billion wireless ADSL router has served me well for the past few years. It is not flashy, but it has served adequately. The included VoIP is great and I use it for all my calls through Internode and Pennytel and I have probably saved the cost of the router by now. We run a couple of wired computers, another ATA adapter, and a wireless laptop or two through it. My kids play X-Box live also through it. Best of all, I have never had a problem. Stable, configurable, VoIP adapter integrated. Wireless distance could be better, price is a bit high.
Excellent – I am using 7402VGO model which is the same as the VGP model, except I can VPN into my home network over the internet from any remote location. I am still running with the original firmware since I installed this unit nearly 2 years ago. My motto is, if it's working fine, leave it alone. I am running two VoiP lines (MyNetFone and PennyTel)without any issues. I love the PSTN and VoiP dial plans this router allows me to configure. Way ahead of any other router I have installed for family and friends. I highly recommend the Billion 7402 and newer 7404 routers. I suggest you install this unit in a well ventilated area as it's warm to touch on top, but hot to touch underneath. My desktop is using Netgear NIC and Intel WiFi from 3 Dell laptops without any issues. Well set out configuration pages. Lots of technical parameters to play around with. Easy to read status lights. Two VoiP lines with configurable dial plans. A bit pricey, but you are getting a better router. Wireless LAN signal strength could be better. I had to attach a higher gain antenna to get complete home coverage. At least with this router I was able to attach my own antenna. The unit design looks out dated, but it's functional.
