Excellent replacement for my 30 year old natural gas unit – We had a (I'm guessing coz I bought it secondhand) 30 year old pilot light version which finally died. The heater core had corroded through in an awkward spot making it irreparable. Looking for a way out that wouldn't mean having to rebuild the laundry we had this one installed. Quite apprehensive from all the negative feedback on product… Read more

review. Many of those reviews describe complaints that show they haven't read the manual. We really like the new unit it performs well produces stable temperature hot water. As the unit uses Hydropower to light the burner, ignition time is slightly longer. Plumbing to kitchen and shower is short so loss of water is minimal. We like our unit. With it's digital technology will give you an error code should there be a problem.

Bad connection, fixed as advised by stu's review – Stopped working after a week of it being installed had 3-5 days of cold showers and than it miraculously fixed itself. A year later it happened again Followed the instructions as per Stu's review and it started working again. Show details

Awful replacement for much older heater – After 30 years of service our old water heater died. It was a Bosch, so we replaced it with similar characteristics Bosch product, thinking that we'll get similar quality. This is what happens - there is continual fight between amount of hot water and temperature. Especially in winter, if we want hot water, it slows down to a trickle. If we want… Read more

more hot water - water temperature drops.

We had plumbers here who were associated with Bosch, independent plumbers, but nobody can help us.

How is it that possible that very old product worked without above mentioned problem and its replacement is so much worse??? Would you not think that the replacement, especially where we talking 30 years, would be at least equal to its older model??

I fixed a problem that might help others – I have the bosch ci13 internal instant hot water system. A while back it started not lighting often. I had to turn taps on and off, on and off. Then one day it just would not light no matter what. Got a hot water guy to come look at it, and he didn't do much and then said I need a new system. He couldn't tell me what was wrong with it… Read more

though....typical.....throw and spend a heap for a new one when there is one part probably causing it.....the real problem is nobody wants too, or knows how to work out what is wrong with stuff new days. Anyway, I decided to poke around with it. After a lot of stuffing around, I discovered a poor earth problem. If you look at the ignition unit...thats the grey box with the LCD and the button on it......you will see a black wire with a ring connector fixed under the screw that holds the unit to the frame......that is an earth wire That screws into the central body which is made of a die cast ally crap. This gives a poor earth. I added another wire with a ring, put it under the there with the other one.....and ran the other end of the wire to the metal backing plate that the whole hot water system is screwed to on the wall. Presto....my dead HWS fired up first time turned the tap on and hasn't missed a beat since.

Terrible product and appaling after sales service – I will never buy anything from Bosch after the dreadful experience we had with their internal compact Ci16 LP Gas hot water unit and appalling after sales service. My Strata Managers had 6 of them installed at our units in Queanbeyan in 2013 and experienced recurring problems with no hot water for days on end and/or fluctuating temperatures. When… Read more

these systems don't work a computer screen indicates an error code (a number). The plumber has to ring Bosch to find out what it means. Bosch say that it could mean a number of things and this leaves the plumber guessing what the problem is. The only way to fix the system is to book a Bosch Service Agent to come out to the property. My Strata Managers contacted Bosch a number of times to organise this.

The Bosch Regional Service Agent took weeks to contact me only to say that he could not fit the job in for another couple of weeks! Meanwhile the tenants of 6 units were suffering from a lack of hot water in minus degree temperatures. Finally the Service Agent turns up and says that there is a problem with the old gas line and the initial installation and declared that the hot water units could not be fixed under warranty because of this. However, he never articulated or detailed the installation problems either verbally or in writing. We (Strata Managers and I) disagreed that the installation wasn't correct as the units were installed by a reputable licensed plumber who taught plumbing at the Canberra Institute of Technology. However, we agreed to install a new gas line. Bosh then fixed the units under warranty.

A few months later some tenants experienced no hot water again. More calls were made to Bosch by the Strata Managers and these were not well received and the complaint had to be escalated internally to get Bosch to address it. Following these calls and agreement from Bosch to fix the problem, the Regional Service Agent would not call us or return our calls to arrange a time to meet on site. When he finally did take my call he stood me up three times by not turning up at the agreed time. Each time I chased him he would make excuses that something "came up". It was clear that he had no intention of calling me to cancel on the day. I politely questioned his intention to commit to this task and his poor communication and he stated that there was no point fixing or replacing the system as he disagreed with the initial installation - despite being instructed by Bosch to replace the unit.

He went on to admit that he just didn't want to do the job as he was situated in the ACT and didn't want to travel over the border to Queanbeyan - despite it being in his Region to service. I persisted with him and eventually he replaced the unit. A few months later I had wildly fluctuating hot water temperatures and eventually no hot water. Our (strata) plumber rang Bosch with the error code and again they just fobbed him off. After putting up with unprofessional and rude after sales service from Bosch and their local Service Agent over an 18 month period we decided to cut our losses and replace the Bosch hot water unit (at considerable cost) with a Rinnai system...it works beautifully!! Bosch has lost the respect and business of many people out of this situation.

Absoulute Rubbish! – Not worth the money and warranty offerd for the unit. Had problems with it since it was installed and has broken down regulary ever since to the point now that the unit shows no signs of life even when the hot water taps are turned on. Unit is not even 3 years old. Very expensive wall hanging ornament. I will not recommend buying a bosch… Read more

hotwater unit. Quality of unit is bad and not worthy of the reputation of what I would have expected of bosch.

Disappointing – Installed 6 months ago worked fine, all of the sudden stopped working. An error 'FO' showed up on the screen. Tried to call Bosch ( Sat morning ) Not open until Monday 8am and Monday is public holiday so now I'll have to wait to Tuesday. 3 days without hot water. Not good enough Bosch! Service should be availiable weekends as well Continuous hot water Showing 'FO' on the screen and simply not working

Never run out! – Had the water service replaced with this model gas water heater only to have it cut out within ten minutes of use in the shower, so would have to turn it off an back on again to Finnish washing myself, how an why does this do that straight from the box, only couple months old
