Very happy – Purchased many years ago 2011 perhaps and im only Needing to replace the oven light now.. I haven’t had any issues with glass door breakage, we bought this as we had young family. No trouble with the self cleaning either and so remove the trays and racks inside before cleaning. I have recommended and would buy Bosch for our kitchen again! Show details

Happy Customer – When we were building our new house ten years ago we bought Bosch induction cook top, the pyrolytic oven (H A73B550A) and the classic electronic dishwasher. In those ten years I have recommended all of these appliances to countless family and friends. The only reason I looked at this web site was to check that I had the correct model number for… Read more ·  1

ordering a new oven bulb. After all this time I don’t mind having to replace the bulb. The glass cover appears to be fine as does the oven door glass. I use my oven almost every day and have used the self cleaning function at least thirty times (roughly three times a year). The instructions in my handbook are always followed to the letter. I wonder if some of your dissatisfied customers neglect to remove the racks? If they didn’t take them out would this cause arcing and affect the glass? By the way, I also just LOVE the induction cook top - so fast and so easy to look after. Mine still looks like new. We have always had Bosch dishwashers and this one has never missed a beat either, the same as our previous ones. We also bought a Bosch stick vacuum cleaner that we did have a problem with just out of warranty but Bosch said they would cover the cost of the repair anyway. Great service and products Bosch!!

Good but don't use pyro – Good oven but the pyrolytic function burnt out the circuit board costing $470 to replace. We are going to buy a new over - not pyrolytic. The repair person said this was vey common Show details

Great oven..troublesome glass breaking – I absolutely love this oven. The self clean was a feature that attracted me to it. I was happy to pay extra for this feature but had no idea it would cost me in the end like so many other users of this oven. At the end of the self clean, I heard a strange noise and hoped it wasnt what I had suspected. Yep, the glass had cracked along the base oven… Read more

door on the inside. It seems this glass was never really tough enough for the high heat on the self clean, going by the amount of customers that have had the same problem. I contacted Bosche. As the oven is out of warranty, I am now up for the $300+ to replace it. Nothing more was offered. Doesnt seem right. The glass put in these ovens is faulty, but I have to pay for it.

Disappointed in customer service and quality – Like so many users, after using the self-cleaning function, the oven’s light holder cracked and broke, the light bulb is off and most importantly the front glass door has cracked from one end to the other. Having done my research prior to the purchase BOSCH’s ‘quadruple glass/ best pyrolytic / safe oven self-clean’ was promising but obviously… Read more

does not deliver. Is this 'false advertisement' claim?

Googling that particular model and the breaking glass and light holder issues I came across other customer complaints and description of their experiencing the same issue. Not only that but the way that the customer service dealt with the issue is very similar. I've written and called and no one bothered to answer.

I too cleaned my oven using the 'self-clean' function (not even the intensive one), and like the other customers I found on the internet, not only the glass door but also the light holder crack and break.

The issue is not due to me using the oven wrongly but to the ‘quadruple glass’ and ‘self-cleaning’ feature not doing what they are promised to do: withstand the heat. The cracking and breakage happened due to the glass not withstanding the heat and not due to misuse and therefore I find it unfortunate and unfair for the customer support to ask us to pay for repair. Very disappointing.

I have a young family and use my oven to cook and bake. Today, I opened the oven door to show my son why I say that it is not safe for him to be in the kitchen when mummy is cooking: the glass door is in two pieces.

love my bosch oven – bought this oven 4 years ago. researched it and liked the quadruple glass and best of all being pyrolitic and able do an oven clean. Awesome. lots of programs and still finding a new program for drying foods or cooking a dish better, even now. Have replaced a globe and a centre element but use it heaps. So approx. $300 in repairs And ok with that. Great service in Tasmania.  Show reply

Disappointed in quality - another cracked glass door – I experienced the same issue as Peter C (23 Dec 14). I too cleaned my oven just prior to Christmas ready to cook my Christmas ham. After the self cleaning had finished two cracks appeared one on either side of the glass door. I called Bosch customer service and was advised that I would have to pay a call out fee and for a replacement door. My… Read more

oven had only been installed for approx 14 months, however I purchased it during the end of FY sales and left in sitting in boxes in my garage for 6 months until my new kitchen was installed. Therefore it was technically out of the warranty period. Very disappointing as it was only used for a period of 14 months and not a great deal.

Today, I opened the oven door to show my mother in-law my oven (as she is in the market for new one) and a large piece of glass fell out. I guess that probably wasn't a good advertisement for Bosch products.

I will be lodging a formal compliant tomorrow during business hours. I will let everyone know the outcome including my mother in-law as that will clearly influence her decision to purchase Bosch products for her new kitchen

Surely Not Another Crack In The Glass Cover ? Take Note Bosch Official – Having spent over $2000.00 on our Bosch pyrolytic oven plus a further $3000.00 for the dishwasher and Induction cooktop nearly three years ago, I have been very happy with our purchases UP TO NOW. Yesterday, the light did not come on in the oven, after reading the manual (yes, Bosch Official, I always follow the manual's instructions), on removing… Read more

the glass light cover, I found that it was cracked which must have in turn blown the bulb. I rang Bosch and was told that as it has passed two years, I am liable for the call out charge of service rep and replacement part. I can complete a "Resolution Form" and after the service check, depending on the outcome, Bosch MAY consider my complaint, but cracking of a glass cover had never happened before and was very strange.

After two hours when I still had not received this form via email, I went onto this review site and read that it had indeed occurred previously and a Bosch official had responded on line. I rang Bosch again and spoke to another person (very different to the initial lady, thank you [name removed] for your polite and professional attitude) where it seemed that no action or record of my complaint had been made by the previous consultant. It seems that I am caught between a rock and a hard place. I can either spend $45 or so on a new glass cover or ask for a call out ($80 +) plus the cost of the cover and in all probability, Bosch will not refund me (I have since been told not to waste my time as they rarely assist after the end of a warranty).

I decided to just buy a new cover and hope that it will not happen again rather than risk a long drawn out battle with Bosch. I need to make the point to Bosch, that there must be a inherent defect within the glass cover which means it is unable to withstand the high temp of the pyrolytic cleaning system. Let me reassure Bosch, that their instructions are followed to the letter and I find it deeply insulting when it is inferred that their customers do not. Take note Bosch, I bought a Miele washing machine and their service and response after the life of the warranty was impressive, so customers, if after sales service is important to you, perhaps you should re consider purchasing Bosch products.

Great Oven – We were rebuilding our house 18 months ago and for the kitchen we had selected Electrolux appliances. I wanted a wide rather than high oven. After reading some negative reviews at the last minute, we cancelled the order and opted for Bosch appliances. (Built in Oven also wide, and Bosch cooktop) We have not regretted this and I am extremely… Read more ·  1

happy with the oven and cooktop. I did have to read the manual carefully but once I was used to the settings, it was great. The oven cooks faster than my old Westinghouse in about 2/3 of the time and I am no longer worried about cleaning it. It cleans itself. I was a bit wary about trying it out but on a winter evening I turned the function on as recommended and it took a bit over an hour or so. I did not open it till next morning. A spotless oven with a bit of ash in the bottom was all there was. The baking trays supplied with this model are very good and wide and the manual recommends these are used for roasting as well since they heat better and the meat and vegs cook faster on the iron than stainless steel trays. The oven door remains cold throughout baking as it is supposed to have 4 glass panels. The grill functions is very good, had to get used to keeping the door closed as always had a separate griller but this oven does it very well and the spatters are no problem with the self-clean function. The control knobs are a bit of challenge as I need my glasses to read them but are managable. Love the timer, clock and automatic functions. Nice wide oven, solid and easy controls once I read the manual. Quick to bake and grill. Does not get hot and self cleans Need glasses to read temperature settings,

Poor value – Unfortunately this model has some inherent design & manufacturing faults that Bosch relies on its name to sell the production run anyway Bit sad really as I purchased it on Boschs reputation. I had a long discussion with the service centre they agree that the reverse running circulating fan cannot be fixed. Their suggestion was to use vapour… Read more

Pyrolytic function is brilliant – I delayed using the pyrolytic function as I was worried about subjecting my new kitchen to 500 degrees for over an hour - consider what could go wrong. Consequently it needed a really good clean so we did the 2 hour clean to fully test it. Once I opened the door there was only a bit of ash on the bottom and a brilliantly clean oven and glass… Read more

door. I'm so impressed. Otherwise the oven is great although it does need to be set at a higher temperature if there's a lot of food cooking at once. Availability of telescopic trays as they make the oven easier to use when it's under the benchtop.

Confusing confusing – This oven is a pain. I have only just started using it and so far lasagne has been browned but has been cold in centre, cake has also had the same problem as did the fruit crumble. I cannot for thE life of me figure out what I am doing wrong. I follow the instructions in the book but nothing seems to work out. Everything so far

Excellent – This oven is brilliant !! Have had it for about 6 weeks and have cooked a wide variety of things. Cakes,Pastries, roasts, home made pizza, gratins, grilled chops. Lots of settings that you actually use. Instruction booklet is very detailed and has been a great help to learn about my new oven. Pyrolitic function is fantastic. Everything !! Telespoic rails should come with it. Not as an optional extra.

So happy with this oven, I love it – This oven has been just great since we purchased it in 2010. I had previously had a St.George oven that we also loved, although we had to replace it as it died, and they don't make them any more. The Bosch is smaller internally than my old St. George, but I have gotten used the new one, so not really a problem. I really would not buy an oven now… Read more

without the pyrolitic function, it's great to clean the oven on a more regular basis than once a year!

The oven does great pizzas, with a crisp base. I do a lot of baking, cakes, slices etc and have had no problems with cooking times, the only thing is my pavlovas just haven't come out quite the same yet. Still working on that.

I did a lot of research on ovens before making my decision on purchasing the Bosch, but I found that with the functions it had for the price I could buy it at, it left all its competitors for dead. Great looking, value for money

Great but they need to do something with the electronic timer! – So far I am very happy with this oven. It has cooked pizzas, roasts, garlic bread, fish and chips very well. It is much smaller than previous StGeorge oven but still manages to cook what I need for a family. It comes with griller tray and universal tray as well as the usual racks. I have found fan forced to be the easiest setting to use as I… Read more

am used to this whereas trials with other settings have sometimes been too hot or I have cooked the items for too long. The glass is very easy to see through when cooking, always stays cool and easy to clean. The entire oven remains cool to the touch on the outside and will not affect surrounding cupboard doors with any heat. I have yet to use the self cleaning cycle. It looks good but stainless steel surround can leave streaks after cleaning. The first time I used it I was also a bit freaked out that the cooling fan kept blowing air for the next hour until the oven had cooled down. I kept thinking that the oven was still cooking but it was only cooling down which is a relief. It is very quiet as well. Stays cool to touch, cooks well and is easy cleaning. Setting the timer is very annoying. It only has a '+' and '-' touch screen rather than a dial or number keypad and to get it to stop on the right time is very difficult. It either goes under or over what you want so can take 5 minutes to get it right! Also, sometimes the touchpad doesn't register and you have to keep pressing it.
