Great built in microwave – Looks very modern and stylish. Best one that I could find to buy. Works extremely well. We have had no problems at all. Only thing you need to change in the menu is the time that it beeps for when food is done. Default was 2 minutes. We changed it to 10 seconds. Love it!  Show details ·  1

Pretty good - does the job – Theres nothing special about this microwave but that doesnt make it a bad item either - it heats food well and doesnt seem to heat in 'pockets' like a lot of microwaves do. The only issue I would have with it is the noise it makes. The beeps from the settings etc are very loud which can be rather grating and irritating.  Show details ·  1

refuse to pay a service man $95 to tell me its out of his league or worse just start replacing stuff from the least expensive up. This can only lead to the actual problem being the $650 bit for a $1200 device.

I have dealt with several companies over the years and if there is a problem that they know about and is within the boundaries of a fair and reasonable issue, then the Companies have been more than willing to intervene.

As this problem seems to be a fairly regular problem both on feeback columns and on youTube sites i would suggest it is a Manufacturing problem more than a normal wear and tear issue.

Anyway i will hold my judgement on the Company until i see their offers or advice.

An authorised technician inspected the MW at our expense and advised that the magnetron was dead. New magnetron ordered and paid for in advance by us [$195 part only]. Technician returns at our expense to install magnetron. On starting MW, fuse repeatedly blows. Diagnosis: oh, the inverter is dead.

So far we have spent nearly $300 and our $1,500 Microwave remains dead in the kitchen wall. Will we spend any more on it or other Bosch products - unlikely, based on all of the reviews we have read and our personal experience.

We paid a premium price for all of these Bosch products, expecting them to last us for many many years in our home. We are very disappointed in this outcome and the lack of interest from Bosch in acknowledging what appears to be a repeat problem, or in maintaining brand integrity: it is completely underwhelming.

Our recommendation on this Bosch microwave is to take a very wide berth.

What a waste. Now a headache – We purchased this unit at the end of 2012 (for around $!300 from memory) = nothing but trouble. Expensive trouble. stop using the wire rack (that was included with the unit?). Every month the globes in the unit blow but we just got used to that. Then we had the rotary motor blow up so the unit stopped working again. So again Bosch came out and replaced the 50 cent motor with a $300 price tag. Now the unit has completely stopped working. It runs for about 30 seconds (without heating) and then resets itself. It seems like this terrible product limps along with $300 Bosch service calls.

So, we are stuck. We want to get far away from Bosch as they are terrible products, but since this unit is integrated, finding a replacement is a headache.

My advice to anyone thinking of an integrated Bosch product... Get a Panasonic microwave with a trim kit and live happily ever after.

completely dead! I rang the service centre back and they denied there was an issue with the model (it would have been recalled if that was the case - so [name removed] advised), but clearly there is a major inherent fault with what was a very expensive MW! (wouldn't have spent that much only that it matched all the other appliances in our new kitchen). Really not prepared to spend $700+ on repairs. Bosch - you should be recalling this model! I note is has been discontinued which is no surprise. Just to add to my woes - I encouraged my daughter to buy the same model. Hers hasn't been installed for as long as mine, so guess it is just a matter of time! I will break it to her gently tonight and warn everyone I know to NOT buy Bosch appliances!

Good but expensive product – we bought this built-in microwave to match with our wall ovens almost 3.5 years ago. it does its job very well as used numerious times everyday. just for investigating the problem I have to pay at least $122, then on top of it, l have to pay a part... as this problem have been raised on the web and YouTube...and obviously it was so common problem for this model no. why the service agent said the engineer needs to investigate the problem? As a big band like Bosh, they have to rectify this problem for their customer as free of charge... call Bosh service department again and explained the situation, but they refused to get involved this issue and refer back to their service partner... so disappointed.

Fixed once and now dead – We moved to our apartment in 2014. Upon moving in the sellers had Bosch personnel fixing the microwave oven because it did not heat properly. They paid around 400 USD to get it fixed. Now, about three years later, it's completely dead. The fuse for the microwave oven went out in our apartment. Same issue here with customer service – I also bought the mentioned microwave and emailed customer services over a year ago to help resolve the issue we had with the appliance. BOSCH ??? NO MORE – Very disappointed in this "BOSCH" microwave oven which is about 6 years old, paid $1240. Now its "stuffed". Very Poor – Purchased a Bosch microwave along with many other Bosch appliances. Another Bosch appliance dies – We bought dishwasher, oven, microwave and cook top when we renovated the kitchen late 2011 First to go was the dishwasher when only 4 years old. Was uneconomical to repair. Replaced with a Miele. Now the microwave has a $750 repair quote after the $130 investigation. New inverter board and magnatron. Pretty major. Do we pay to get it fixed? Disappointed! – I purchased several Bosch products 5 years ago as we were about to start a renovation, renovation was delayed and started using my $1200 microwave 16 months ago. Bosch Products are Crap – I purchase bull Bosch Double oven with inbuilt microwave. Only used Microwave for basics. iIt just stopped heating up one day. ovens replaced twice still look bent! Bosch is not the quality that we are led to believe. The front asher and condensor dryer had to have the drum in the dryer replaced and the washing machine totally replaced. Will NEVER buy Bosch again. They phase out old stock which unsuspectingly you buy and no support for it.

common fault with these models - unbelievable for a unit that cost over $1200.

It is clearly a inherrant fault with this model and Bosch should have recalled and repaired these units.

you never see or hear of a old Bosch microwave still working yet the Japanese ones seem to last forever.

It cooks quickly, evenly and is very intuitive to operate. It also looks fantastic above my older Bosch oven.

power, flickering on and off, and then it blew the power module. We had it fixed, warmed one cup of milk and it blew the power model again. In saying this, Bosch will not repair the convection oven again, as they say it wasn't installed correctly, and doesn't have ventilation. The microwave has plenty of ventilation. Friends of ours have theirs installed in an island bench like ours, with NO ventilation, and have NEVER had a problem. I also advised Bosch of [name removed] problem with the arcing, to which they didn't care - all cases are assessed on a case by case basis. When I purchased this oven, I was never advised that it couldn't be put in an island bench - where most others can be. I'm extremely disappointed in this outcome, as I now have a $1200 microwave in a new house/kitchen that doesn't work. Should have kept my Smeg microwave!

All is Revealed – After my previous review I had a visit from the technicians and it appears that the small amounts of arcing that we have noticed with this appliance from new has now resulted in a burnt out major component. Bosch have known of this issue and ceramic racks have been recommended or supplied. Unsure from the repairers if Bosch will come to the party for an obvious manufacturing fault. Awaiting a reply from the repairers who will be taking the issue up with Bosch. If your Bosch microwave is still working highly recommended by the repairers to remove the steel rack altogether and just use the microwave without one.

Same here....slow cooker!! – Totally agree [name removed], I am having the same issue, just doesn't seem to work as well and cook the same as my old much cheaper microwave. Quite disappointing for a company with such a supposedly good reputation. Just had my kitchen reno done, so stuck with this dude for another few years :(.

It takes less button presses than other mw I know. My only problem is that the light bulb keeps blowing very frequently, would give 5 stars if that could be solved. Update: The light problem is solved, but now I have the problem reported by many where the device stops after 20sec and goes into standby. Bosch sent a repair agent, he tried this and that, seemingly clueless, and than pronounced it could be the inverter, left and sent me an estimate over $780 to make me go away. $320 for the inverter that I can buy for $140 elsewhere, and $460 labor, for which I was quoted $270 by his office, when agreeing to the callout. In addition he couldn't guarantee that the repair is successfully because "you never know with this electronic things" as he explained. Completely unprofessional and disinterested. You could say, thats not really Bosch' fault, but they sent the dude. So I called another Bosch repairer by myself and was told that its not worth repairing these things except if you can't find anything else to close the whole in the kitchen. They obviously think it's just cheap throughout junk - they got at least that right. Of course I could also blame Panasonic, after all they make all the components of the device except the name plaque. Makes me shiffer thinking how many Bosch appliences I have. My Bosch wall oven made it 3 month past extended warranty.

Very Disappointing – We bought this microwave, like most, to fit above a built in oven. From the beginning we had uneven heating, cold spots and prolonged heating times. Bosch customer service have been less than helpful. Technically the microwave works but performs very poorly. We are now left with an expensive microwave which we do not trust to cook raw food due to the cold spots. I will not recommend Bosch products.

changed twice, our washing machine has been repaired twice (this has been used since it was purchased and ended up paying for the repair the second time because it was just out of warranty, the dishwasher repaired and replaced. Now my microwave no longer works. If you use the 180/360/600 or 1000 setting after 10 sec it cuts out. We have hardly used this appliance and its already stuffed. I am truly not impressed and since we spent well over $20 000 on these appliances and only got top of the range they should last .

Even worse was the rude and sarcastic response from Bosch customer service when I inquired about purchasing a mounting kit.

Its a good thing that the front of the microwave is all you see, because the shell looks like it was assembled by a one-armed blind person.

Other than that, it's a microwave and it seems ok at re-heating curry.

The price, well yes its extortionate for something that's not even made in Germany

Bosch appliances but it seems as if the microwave is something to beware of - both in terms of reliability and cost of parts.

bosch microwave have a lot of issues – Microwave was replaced within 12 months of purchase. The front control panel replaced on the new replacement microwave but still have problem with the clock. Door repaired because it was not closed properly and now the unit is totally not working. We only use microwave to warm up milk in the morning and reheat left over food. It is very disappointing bosch!

Issue with the door of the microwave – I bought this product since beginning of April, the door is not closing as it should and we are still waiting for the bosch service guy to show up. we cannot even start using it ... so fed up with BOSCH after sales service. The microwave is still in its box. After all these reviews not even interested to use it.

Doesn't heat properly. Noisy! – We purchased this microwave only a month ago and it's starting to make a horrible zappy noise when in use, like it's about to explode! The microwave broke down within six weeks (make that about a month due to the fact it took two weeks to have delivered and installed ) is not at all satisfactory. Hear my words please Bosch. Reliability is what you have built your brand on so can you please assemble a microwave that actually works.

now that it has just been inspected by the warranty repair people and they have submitted a report to Bosch I await some feedback to see what the outcome may be. It says in the warranty conditions that I'm entitled to a refund or replacement for a major failure or for that matter it could just be quality not up to satisfactory standards. I must ask what Major failure stands for ? Whichever way we go I will make sure we let you know the outcome. I'm sure Bosch want this fixed and sure they want to make their products better and oh yeah I would like a Microwave that is working.

Heard from Bosch and they are replacing the Microwave which is a satisfactory result . They do stand behind their product and I must admit are willing to back it, so maybe next time they might have a word to the manufacturer of the component which failed in the microwave so it does not happen again

Terrible Product – I have a two year old model, it has already had one new PCB board fitted at a cost of nearly $400.00. This part hasn't lasted 12 months and the item is again not working. It is not under warranty and I refuse to pay an additional $400.00 to have it repaired yet again. NOT GOOD ENOUGH BOSCH

Takes longer than normal microwaves – I have used this microwave for 12 months and although it has some good functions, eg the low power for defrosting bread and cakes, easy clean and drop down door , it does take almost two thirds longer in cooking time than any other microwave I have used.
