Easy Bosch Oven Door Fix – Have had the same issues with the failed hinges on the Bosch oven door, as I was reluctant to spend $$$ on new hinges which would have a limited life, I purchased a two pack of magnets from Bunnings. With a chrome surround and centre hole, I unscrewed the handle fixing screw on the inside top of the over door and fix the magnet using the same… Read more

screw. Did this on both sides and it seems to have worked. The magnets need to be reasonably heavy duty and the surround not more than about 5mm. Have been using this method quite successfully for a few months with no issues.

perfect and fast – Me and my coworkers bought this for our office about a month ago and we love it. When the description says "Extra Large" it's not kidding, the capacity of this machine is huge. We use it all the time to cook our lunches, bake cinnamon rolls for breakfast, and cookies for our fellow workers. It cooks evenly and efficiently, and the turbo convection… Read more ·  1

feature will speed that up even more. My only downside is how the door is constructed. The design is such that the door stops when the handle touches the counter, it will go far passed 90 degrees if you have narrow counters or have it sitting on top of a microwave like we do. This hasn't caused an issue, it just put extra stress on the door and glass.

Hinges - HELP – Hi there We bought the same oven four years ago - love the oven but our door in the past 6 months slowly but surely wouldn't shut. Same hinges different ending! – New Bosch purchased about 5 years ago - as usual had to wait a few months for delivery after payment. After a year or 3 my door wouldn't seal properly. Being lazy i didn't get around to having it looked at - just used a stool to hold it shut when using. Finally went to store where it was bought to find out who could repair it. Had the… Read more ·  1

shock of my life while it was being repaired - came home from work to find my kitchen all on the deck and bits of my wonderful Bosch stove all over the place - poor man had to practically dismantle the whole stove to get to the hinges to replace them!

Large bill followed and we phoned Bosch NZ. to discuss this. The service could not be faulted - very nice man who obviously new what he was talking about told us to take account back to the serviceman and that they should phone Bosch NZ and ask for "support services" and that "the least they could do was pay for the parts".

Was also assured that the new hinges were superior to the old ones and should last.

Terrible product. Should have been recalled – I paid good money for this as I have always bought Bosch in the past. I expected to get at least 15 years out of it. The hinges and the rubber oven seal failed within the first few years. I replaced them at a cost of about $600.00 a couple of years ago. Now the hinges have failed again. I logged a call with Bosch, and they say they can’t do… Read more

anything about it. So instead of paying another $500.00 to replace the hinges again, which will fail after a couple of years, I’ve decided to dump it and buy another brand. I am so annoyed that I’ve decided that I will never buy Bosch again. I’ve just gone out to Miele and ordered a new dishwasher as well to replace the Bosch unit I have. I will NEVER have Bosch again.

Figuratively 'burned' by this bad oven choice – When we first experienced troubles with this oven, the only information I could find online was that the faulty door hinges were a known problem but there was no remedy offered by Bosch. Now I see that people have had their ovens fixed and I feel like I have really been burned by this oven (pardon the bad pun!). My cooker is now about 7 years old… Read more

and looks brand new top to bottom because we have barely used it! When we do wish to use the oven, we need to prop a stool against it to keep the door closed. Also, 80% of the time, the burners do not auto-light. Often we need to use a match. We have had wonderful experience with Bosch fridges, rangehood, dishwasher, washing machine and power tools. This oven was an absolute lemon and because of the expense and inconvenience I highly doubt I will buy any Bosch products again.

Bosch HSB745256A Rubbish Hinges – Hinges replaced and have now failed for the 2nd time. Bosch is completely unwilling to help so we are up for another $400 or so to replace the hinges. Made an offer that we could purchase a new Bosch oven for 55% discount. Sure thing based on the experience to date with this Bosch oven we are sure to purchase another one. Don't ever purchase Bosch kitchen products, they are junk. Show details

Bosch slow to take responsibility for defective product – The hinges failed on my oven with very limited use like most people here. acceptable quality (https://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/buying-products-and-services/repairs,-replacements-and-refunds). After applying some pressure the Bosch rep assured me someone would call me back in 1-2 days but, unsurprisingly, this has not happened.

It is one thing for Bosch to discontinue a bad oven but to not take responsibility for the bad line they sold and pretend they don't have responsibility for a bad product if you don't have a receipt is bad for their whole image as well as being against the law. Of course, smart of Bosch to discontinue this oven so fewer people read their reviews but I think I will go looking for a site that allows me to review their customer service and compliance with Australian Consumer Law guarantees.

$150 plus $100 per hour, this is prohibitive to having the door fixed!! Having read the many reviews posted on this site, I am reluctant to go ahead and replace the hinges, as it seems that the chance of the hinges failing again is high. I would have thought that Bosch would offer the hinges at a more reasonable cost, as the hinges were obviously a fault with this model. I can only imagine the profit that Bosch has made from supplying all the new hinges for this oven...staggering! Dilemma, replace the hinges and risk them failing again or buy another cooker?

Terrible Quality! Not Fit to use the Bosch Name! – Bought this dual fuel range cooker in 2012. By early 2016, the door hinge has failed completely. This was with domestic light use of the oven. This time it cost me close to $500 (parts and labour) to get the element replaced. It was expensive fix and it needed two people to get the oven out to replace the element. Two major faults in less than 5 years !

We bought this range because of our previous good experience with Bosch 60cm oven and dishwasher. Caveat emptor, this range cooker is actually made in Italy (under OEM) if you look carefully and not by Bosch Germany. Stay away from Bosch range cooker !

Poor quality from Bosch – I've bought a lot of Bosch appliances over the years because I don't mind paying a premium for quality. Unfortunately I'm not sure Bosch makes quality appliances any more. issues.

I've already had to replace the hinges like most here...clearly this is a known issue and rather than leaving consumers to fend for themselves Bosch should come to the party and address the issues through a service notice or simply helping those who ask (rather than offering to sell them parts).

I also have a failing door seal. The fan element has been replaced once (and when it was being replaced the insulation had also become brittle to the point of falling apart), the rotisserie motor has failed, and now the fan element has failed again.

Not a great experience for a 'quality' appliance.

Poor hinge design, poor seal design, oven stopped working after 6 years – My parents renovated their kitchen in 2011 and decided to go with "quality" Bosch appliances. What a mistake that turned out to be. Within the first 2 years the hinges become loose, but the tech insisted it was normal. Then the door seal broke but this was a simple replacement job. However, now the oven won't power on at all. Their previous oven lasted four times as long and wasn't even a well-known "premium" brand. Go figure!  Show details

it stays open a good couple of inches. I contacted Bosch recently and asked about replacement hinges and was told that it would cost me $180 to replace!! I stated that this is a design malfunction with inferior hinges, which the salesperson insistently denied to be the cause, therefore implying that I was to blame?? Well how rude is that? Reading previous reviews about this faulty component, it seems I'm not the only dissatisfied customer. Bosch needs to lift their game and HONOUR it's unhappy customers by offering FREE replacement hinges. This is not good kudos and a sure way of leaving us customers with a bad resentment to their blatant lack of respect.

Don't buy a Bosch Oven – DON'T BUY BOSCH. I read a number of reviews worldwide about this safety and dangerous fault. Not happy with our Bosch HSB745256A. Same as Annette's review ".... use, 3 years later and it now fails completely.

It seems it is a known safety concern, yet this morning in talking with Bosch, they claim they do not know about any real fault. However some appliance sales sites now claim the part is no longer available and the Bosch sale agent noted "they have a new part", but could not tell me that if it was due to a recall on safety?, or the sheer number of faults, complaints they're had? But the sales person noted that there is an apparent new part..Mmmm???. Why is that because the other parts fail?. I can only hope that this part has been re-designed to resolve the issue. As I stated that "I don't want to face the same issue, failure of the part to perform its task and hold up and seal the oven door, if I'm to purchase it."

".....Shame on you Bosch! If you are aware that the hinges for this model are not up to par, you should be replacing the hinges free of charge." If you are still unaware after 5-6 years of complaints... then god help those who are injured due to your lack of customer care. Even with my skills to replace a known faulty part I'll be slugged $179.00 for parts. Learn to address your faults and you wouldn't lose customers, put customer safety first. Regards Mark Robinson.

October 19th 2017 Update: Defective product

Back in February of this year, I complained about the hinges of my oven. Bosch sent someone in May of this year to fix the problem. Last night as I was cooking and the oven got hot, it opened and this time the hinges came off. We were extremely lucky that my two year old was not near by. I just wonder when will Bosch start listening to the clients and replace their defective products. Why do they keep using the same cheap hinges that do not work. Now I have a wide open oven in the house which I can’t use. It’s a safety hazard in the house. I can’t remove it because it has a gas cooktop that we need. I am asking Bosch to just do the right thing and replace it with a safe oven.

the hinges for the oven door are sub par quality.

My wife and I were newlyweds when we bought our house and renovated our kitchen to customise this oven to slot right in. I am the main cook at home so i wanted a quality product that suited my cooking needs.

So we thought we contact Bosch directly to get this fixed only to be told it's a chargeable repair, which frankly is even more disappointing to hear. For a long time I stood behind quality german products (Including Bosch) even convincing my wife only to now find out that you are opting to repair this faulty product but charge me for it.
