pay callout fee many times the tech said this particular model had this issue. Why design and build a fridge without proper testing and fooling so many customers?

Expected better from a German brand – A relatively well priced fridge, but after 7 years of ownership it's given up. Have had a technician look at the water dispenser and ice maker problem, and though everything works ( solenoid, water pressure etc) no cigar. Some problems – Fridge has served us quiet well. Have had it for 3.5 yrs - so far we had the ice dispensor motor replaced while still under warranty. It has been ok since. It's alright – This fridge is big and very spacious, had it for over 5 years I think? And has no problem with it. I like the super freezer mode, it's quite useful. And since we live in an apartment, we are unable to plug the hose to make the water or ice, but instead I put crushed Oreo on the ice dispenser and now I can have cookies & cream topping when I have my ice cream. ;)  Show details ·  1

had an old Kelvinator before this one, it lasted over 25 years with never a repair and it's still working, this one was more than double the price and didn't make it to 4 years, do I feel ripped off, you bet.

Now, just over 4 years down the track the fridge compartment is quiet warm and food is spoiling. I've emptied the fridge and discovered at the back (2nd draw down) a massive block of ice covering the water tubes and vessel. I've "defrosted" the fridge (even though it's supposed to "auto-defrost") three times now and the vessel keeps freezing over and the fridge continues to be warm.

A fridge should just be plugged in and run for years with little to no maintenance - I'm not at all impressed with the issues experienced with this Bosch fridge and cannot afford to replace a practically new fridge. Help!!!

My previous Fridge that is much cheaper in prize stayed for 10 years without any complaints plus they offered very good customer service. I can't spend more money on getting it fixed and with small kids at home it' becoming hard to store food items (like milk etc.....).I am really disappointed that big brand like BOSCH supply products with faults after reading the review of this model from many people with similar problems.

I expect BOSCH customer service to look into it and provide the solution to ease out this situation. Otherwise, I need to complain at the bigger forum taking all the review in the account from different people here.

Bad Buy – Like everyone else we have now got problems with our Bosch fridge. The water dispenser no longer works and the fridge is not working properly. We should never have purchased this fridge and will not buy Bosch again. They are obviously inferior products. Randomly Dispenses Water – Bought the fridge new and have had no problems with the fridge in 4.5 years until recently. This isn't great considering when you come online you find lots of people have experienced exactly the same thing! So this is clearly a product manufacturing fault. I'm in the process of raising a case with Bosch, but if I have to pay $600 as someone else quoted in here to get it fixed, when the original fridge cost me nearly $2200 I won't be happy. Purchased Bosch expecting quality & longevity. Guess I was wrong!! – Purchased in Jan 2012, but fridge first used in August 2012 after kitchen reno. contractor repairer. Has now been confirmed that the PCB has failed. An expensive repair! We purchased Bosch realizing we would have to pay more for quality, weren't we stupid! I'd expect to get more than 5.5 years trouble free operation out of a $2000 fridge. :-(

After making a submission to Bosch they have now supplied & installed a new comparable fridge under warranty. Good to see some manufacturers abide by their responsibilities under Australian Consumer Law. Very happy.

I just discovered the Fridge compartment is not as cool as it says, the display says 4C and the thermometer says 10C, and food is going off like I left it in the sun. I trusted the brand Bosch, but never again. This unit is made in China, and lasts 5 years. I might as well spend half the money for a much lesser brand and if that only lasts 5 years, then at least I have save over a $1000!!

Short lived joy – This was a great fridge/freezer until the freezer stopped freezing today. I see by other reviews I was stupid to expect it to last as long as 5 years. bosch service person to come out ($180) and that was just to tell me the same thing my family friend told me, that the fridge needs re-gassing. And that was before they even step foot into my home......

Anyway i ask to speak to a supervisor but was told i would get a call back, weeks later i am still waiting but call almost everyday and get told i will get a returned call. Not once have they called me back.........

I am a single parent that has a daughter who suffers a life threatening condition and requires a fridge to keep her medication in (i also told bosch this ) and have endless medical bills as well as general living expences to pay and still have no fridge and have no money spare to buy another fridge. If i did have money to buy another fridge it definitely wouldt be a bosch fridge thats for sure. I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER RECOMEND BOSCH OR EVEN THIS FRIDGE TO A SINGLE PERSON. I would never buy a Bosch fridge again in this lifetime – I would never buy a Bosch fridge again, I have to turn this fridge off nearly every two months for it to work properly again, as the water stops working, it freezes the veges and fruit in the bottom and the top three shelves are not cold and then trips the safety after a few hours of turning it back on and no one seems to how to fix it. Ice maker not working – Fridge ice maker only lasts 5 years then need to spend $600 for new ice maker. Looks like they only last for 5 years. Not sure if I would buy any Bosch products again. This has been a great fridge/ freezer the past 5 years but now we have water leaking into our freezer at the back from the ice maker, making my frost free freezer very frosty & the fan has become so loud its like a rocket taking off. I have contacted Bosch & am awaited a technician to visit. Hopefully it will not cost me an arm & a leg. I will post the outcome when its resolved.

normal, ran through the self test program as detailed in the manual and there are no fault codes reported, however there is absolutely no cooling. Rang HN as I couldn't find my paperwork straightaway. They provided all the details of the purchase, extended warranty, etc. which was great. Rang Product Care to lodge a claim. A day later received an obscure SMS "With regard Service on your BOSCH appliance, please ring XX XXXX XXXX and quote job XXXXXX to arrange a technician to fit the part......." Not sure what part they intend fitting as it hasn't even been looked at yet! Not sure why they couldn't just call rather than SMS for efficiency? Rang repairer and the earliest they can even have a look at the fridge is Friday, 24th March (10 DAYS after it failed). This is unacceptable. I rang Product Care again and they found someone else who can look at it Tuesday, 21st March (7 DAYS after it failed). Still unacceptable, but it is what it is. What is the average person supposed to do without fridge and/or freezer for what will be around 1-2 weeks if it is even fixed on first visit, which I would be very surprised. We have an Electrolux (Kelvinator) Pigeon Pair in the garage as beer fridge and overflow. Lucky we had those to use in the interim along with a couple of Waeco's, however we still have to throw away a few hundred dollars worth of food as a result of the Bosch Fridge Freezer failure.

This isn't the first time the Bosch Fridge Freezer had the issue. The same occurred 12-18 months ago. I was advised at the time that if there was no fault found, I would be charged for the service call, etc. In between when the failure occurred and the appointment to assess, the Bosch Fridge Freezer started working again, so I cancelled the claim. I would expect a lot more longevity from a brand like Bosch but it seems quite a few have issues around the 4 year mark.

The only reason we bought the Bosch at the time was because it fitted perfectly in the space provided in the house we bought at that time and loved the Ice Maker and Water Dispenser facilities. Even after this failure I would still consider the current model which I believe is the KAD92AI20A, however am now very hesitant given the failure of my last purchase. I notice there are no reviews on this site for the current model, however there is a 5 star review on the BOSCH website. Also when I popped into HN this afternoon to check on their understanding of the extended warranty and view on the whole situation, they were not impressed with the delays, etc. I looked around the floor for the current BOSCH model but was advised that HN no longer stock...... I ended up having to leave the store while the poor salesman was still on hold with Product Care.

What should I do Mr BOSCH if I need to order a replacement? Can you justify me sticking with BOSCH or should I look elsewhere. My expectation would be for a reputable brand appliance of that type to last me at least 10 years, as a minimum (2 middle aged, with kids grown and gone) so little wear and tear.

Water turns on automatically .Impossible to contact Product Care Claims – Have rung numerous times as water is flooding the kitchen. Always the same message, "Higher than expected volume of calls etc" Tried lodging claim online. I completed the form except for serial number as I don't know where to locate that. Very frustrating. We have Bosch dishwasher ,cooktop, and oven which are hassle free and will not recommend a Bosch fridge

after owning one, for such a large kitchen investment we are very disappointed in this product.

At cross roads now , spend couple of hundred to fix this one or bite the bullet and spend thousands on a new /other brand fridge.

I loved this fridge... we are not talking now – We have exactly the same problem as everyone else here, i.e. Freezer will not get colder than -7degC.
