Perfect fridge great for family of 4 – Easy to clean keeps everything fresh and good to be able to adjust the temperature. Having two teenage boys who are constantly in the fridge the temperature always stays cold and alarms me if the doors are left open. Very quiet too very rarely hear it. Fabulous product – We bought this approx 2 months ago and I still haven't been able to fault it. Having not been fridge shopping for nearly 20 years, I had set the bar very high. Seems ok so far – I wouldn't term this fridge quiet, but I wouldn't say it's noisy either, it just makes different noises regularly, it's definitely quieter than the old 20yo fridge it replaced, but more noticeable because it makes different noises, but appears to work fine regardless. shelves & slots than it does. I love the manual ice cube thingy. It is a big fridge, seems the depth of it is more the issue than the width, had to bring it in through the back door of our house as in the box it didn't fit width ways through the front door and Z shaped hallway. Plenty of space, door/temperature alarms, temperature display.

Fridge/Freezer stopped working. I contacted the Bosch approve repairer as stated on their website to come and have a look. I was told that the compressor is not working and would need to be replaced for the whopping amount of $1984. Yes, this is actually more that I paid for the appliance originally!! I was also told by the technician that this Bosch fridge/freezer is notorious for this issue. Then, I visited the Product Review website and I was appalled by the two star review this product has received from users as well as the number of compressor related issues with this product. Just shocking! I have lodged a complaint with Bosch customer service but was told it could take up to 14 days to resolve. Well is that not grand, I am without a Fridge/Freezer but expected to wait up to 14 days for a reply.

huge shame to throw this out to tip it’s still looks brand new and there are lot of people gone through same experience. At least Bosch should have provided cheaper replacement parts to fix the issues. Their certified technician adviced no point getting repaired. I wish there were reviews for this crap item earlier. very annoyed at the fact we'll have to get it fixed and might have the same problem again! Fridge/freezers from a 'reputable' brand like Bosch should not have such a short usage life.

Freezer problems – My freezer is acting up, not getting cold enough anymore. I replaced the temp. limiter and temp sensor with no luck. The temperature fluctuates. Quite loud with lots of clicks and clunks. Needs a regular vacuum to keep the condenser coil clean, – Similar to other reviewers the Fridge/Freezer has spent most of it's life making odd, loud noises and we nicknamed it Moaning Myrtle. off the service company invoiced me for coming out to check it under warranty when in their opinion it was working fine! I refused to pay the bill. Again similar to others the shelf arrangement doesn't work.

Last week the lights went out and it just died. We were really concerned that would be it and an expensive repair or argument would ensue as it is 2 years out of warranty. After the service person came and spent quite a while on it he found the light bulbs in the Fridge compartment had both blown and the On/Off switch had tripped out. Yes the switch inside the right hand top of the fridge door (a rectangle switch with a circle symbol with an I in it) is an on/off switch and also some sort of overload reset. The serviceman held this in for a while and the fridge came back to life!!! I am going to get some replacement LED bulbs which will hopefully last better and not trip the reset if they ever die. Actually really disappointing the bulbs weren't LED in the first place.

Also beware that the cooling of the condenser coil uses a fan which blows air through the coil. This turns out to be an effective vacuum cleaner and the coil gets badly clogged up with dust (I thought our kitchen was pretty clean). If you unplug the fridge and take off the star screws at the bottom back you can vacuum out the coil and fan which will restore its efficiency. If this was done even once a year it would probably extend the life of the appliance as I believe some of the failures in other reviews could be partly due to the cooling fan and condenser coil being clogged with dust and the unit just running for ages and staying hot/overheating/failing. The service man who came out to check the noises originally should have cleaned the coil but he didn't. It must use way more power when the coil is full of dust.

Somewhat disappointed with the overall quality as the badge is Bosch, so it should be German quality but it is made in China with what look like Chinese parts. So remove a star for that and then remove another due to all the noise it makes.

Too Noisy - Do Not Buy!! even for Bosch Technicians this normal :( – Please stay away from This product or related product. The product is too noisy when in operation. ago, the freezer stopped freezing, then the fridge stopped working. The repairman said we will need to buy a new fridge, of which we can't afford. I am so disappointed Bosch. It seems from these reviews that this was a common fault in the 2012 model. I thought I'd have this fridge for 15 years, not five years. :-(

variety of STUPID and Uneccessary - INTRUSIVE sounds.

High pitched whirring / grumbling / creaking / motor noises / Terrible fan noises - Fridges are not meant to be noisy bosch.

It has driven me so wild with rage that I'm literally giving it away to some slimy 2nd hand dealer for $300 - PAID 2400!!!!

I gave it the benefit of the doubt for the first 3 months. After 18 months and moving it out of the kitchen into two other cooler rooms, now in the coldest room of the house - I live in TASMANIA and it still makes so much unneeded intrustive noise

The one who designed and oka'd this thing for the production line should come to my house and REMOVE the thing while bowing and walking backwards ... Not happy - BOSCH are DEAD to me now.

Breakdown within 5 years – I bought this two door fridge/freezer in November 2012 based on Bosch German quality. However, in less than five years, the top half of the freezer compartment has stopped cooling. The ice has turned into water and all frozen food is destroyed. From the first month when we had it in January 2013, we were disappointed at this fridge because in those summer hot days it made such a loud noise that everyone in the family were shocked and it sounded as if an aeroplane were to take off beside you! We thought we must have put too many food into it and it was working so hard to cool the temperature down in the fridge so we reduced the amount of stuff in the fridge by half and our aircon was there to help to cool the temperature as well. However, it did not work at all! And we thought it probably was because of the hot weather.

When winter arrived, our fridge still made the same noise as it did in summer and the only difference was the frequency was decreased as the weather became cooler and cooler. We then were told by a friend that not all Bosch products were the same good quality: some of Bosch appliances were very badly designed and my husband googled our fridge model and its noise problem and he found this model was heatedly complained by so many people! We were so shocked but we still hoped it would be at least as reliable as other Bosch probucts, making believe that the extraordinary loud noise could be ignored.

In April 2017, we found the food on the top shelf of the fridge became spoiled very easily and the second drawer (for fruit and vegetable) from the bottom had gathered thick layer of ice at its backside. We thought we should reduce the amount of food stored in the fridge so the cool air could circulate in the fridge more evenly. It did not work at all. We defrost the fridge and it accumulated 2cm ice on the back of the fruit and vegetable drawer in 2 weeks. I left my cooking thermometer in the fridge and found the top shelf at 22 degree celcuis, hotter than our room tempreature setting for our heating now in the winter!

I called the Bosch service number and was told to call our local agent and the local agent said they would charge $150 for coming to my place to check the fridge and other costs were to be decided. I found other people who had the similar problem had spent $1000 on trying to repair it in vain and we would like to warn people who trust Bosch blindly like us, do your investigation throughly before you buy their appliance!

The worst of this fridge is it only lasts for four years! My parent's old fridge never had any problem before 15 years old! However this German brand fridge only has a third of other "unreliable" brands product life, which made us very disappointed!

We will never buy Bosch fridge again.

and this piece was the most expensive piece of household item we purchased and we purchased everything Bosch made. I think 5 years is really a short life for such an expensive fridge, knwoing that my in laws paid half this price for theirs and it's still working great after 12 years. I don't have enough money to buy a new fridge/freezer now and can't carry all my shoppings to my friend's house! I think this is the problem with this model as almost every review here is from the products being purchased around the same time and the problem is the same. Bosch should really reconsider the quality of their products! Now I am afraid the rest of my household item from Bosch would stop working soon! I really liked my fridge and was wondering if it's worth fixing this?? Or if it's too expensive?

sometimes one might receive a "dodgy" unit every now and then but to get two inside 4 years is terrible. I will never buy another Bosch product. Perhaps best leave them to their power tools!!

So, not ideal. I'd love to know from Bosch if this is a design fault and if they're prepared to fix it, because so many people have this issue. Otherwise perhaps it's just that the unit is not suited to a high humidity climate.

Either way, I've emptied the fridge, turned the unit off and allowed all the ice to melt and now it's functioning again. For how long I am not sure.

If it is an actual fault then I guess it's with the defrost circuit or timer. I did run diagnostics on the unit and it came back with no errors, so that confuses things a bit.

Poor – Brought from good guys 5 years ago exactly ,extended warranty out ,fridge warm at top frozen at bottom and today is 39 degrees great time to start problems throw all the food out ,thought would be top brand and last. Seems a lot have the same problems wouldn't buy another one.  Show details

perceived the brand as superior, I really am regretting my purchase. A fridge should last for at least 10 years with no trouble. Also the digital temperature changes from Celsius to Fahrenheit by itself. I'm starting to think it'll be cheaper to replace the fridge with something more reliable instead of throwing good money after bad with the Bosch.

So have rung Retravision and was given a number to call as it's "out of warranty" so Tuesday will see what happens stay tuned. 1st of Jan and the fridge has now completely stopped. which is where we purchased the fridge and they arranged for a repair company to give us a call and we then arranged with the repair company for a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. The technician pulled the inside of the freezer apart and said there was ice around the top of the coil and that is a very bad thing. It turns out that there is a gas leak in the system. That's not what you want to hear about a fridge that you have owned for only 4 years. So I got my warranty booklet out and called Bosch to find out where we go from here. We were told that Bosch would pay for the parts to fix the problem and that we would have to pay for the labour and that the fridge will need to be taken (either by us or by a removal company) to the repair company workshop to be fixed.

It's Christmas time at the moment and we've got hundreds of dollars worth of food in our fridge and freezer, some of which we have just thrown out. It's a time when you don't want anything to go wrong with your fridge, especially after only 4 years. We bought this Bosch fridge because it looks great for our kitchen and it it is made by a good brand, well at least we thought Bosch was a good brand. I'm sure they are good at making mens shavers but perhaps they should stay away from making fridges. I know I wouldn't buy another Bosch fridge and I would not recommend anyone buy a Bosch fridge. According to the other reviews on this website, (which unfortunately we did not see back in 2012 when we purchased our Bosch), they tend to have a self destruct mode built in at 3 or 4 years.

The previous fridge that we owned was an Lg fridge and we owned that for 9 years before we sold it as we were moving house. My parents have owned their fridge for some 15 years and my in-laws have owned their fridge for 13 years and they are Whirlpools.

4 years is not a reasonable amount of time to own a fridge before it gets a gas leak.

Even though Bosch has offered to pay for the cost of the parts, I am currently out of pocket for the initial visit by the repair technician to diagnose the problem ($170) plus the $50 or $60 worth of Christmas food that we have thrown away up until this point. I will also be out of pocket for the cost of the labour involved in fixing the leak ($90 minimum charge, may well go up to $150 depending on how long it takes to fix) and getting a removalist to transport the broken fridge to the repair shop ($80, or transport it ourselves in our trailer for the cost of the inconvenience, a couple of hours of our time and the heavy lifting). Hopefully it doesn't cost me too much more $$$ and inconvenience, otherwise I will wonder whether it is worth investing much more in this fridge.

Works okay but cannot last the distant. Yup thought I was purchasing a bosch reputred product. Sadly – its a well thought out design and is relatively quiet. I was wondering why my butter was soft and milk not very cold. I feel completely let down by Bosch after only 3 years. Worked well for 2 years, then defrosting issues – Generally worked well for the 2 and bit years, but recently had issues with de frosting due to which upper sections of the fridge did not cool . Disappointing not only because we purchased Bosch thinking it was a superior brand but the environmental impact of this huge piece of machinery to go into landfill because the freezer doesn't work!!. at almost 4 years to the day, the freezer compartment stopped working. I had a technician come and look and he showed me the ice build up on the workings pronouncing the problem as a gas leak. He advised that a gas leak is almost impossible to detect and fix due to the construction. Of course as soon as the ice melted the gas completely leaked and neither freezer nor fridge are working now and the food has spoiled.

Fortunately I have an extended product warranty. I will contact them tomorrow as today is Sunday and see what they say.
