Seriously, would I buy Bosch again? – I bought this cooktop with other Bosch appliances in Dec 2012 after the Brisbane floods and was happy with it for a number of years. The power on left-back zone has not been stable for about over a year (generally lower and can't do high heat frying). I finally got around to calling Extended Warranty Product Care who came to assess on 6/11/2017, and they came to fix it on 17/11/2017 after receiving parts. That fix made it worse - the whole cooktop no longer worked. They came again to test on 20/11/2017 and decided that they needed to order more parts. I was given offer of $1249 instead of fixing it - no thank you, I paid over $2000 for this cooktop so can you please fix it.
Now still waiting for more parts to arrive from Bosch HOPEFULLY later this week, in which case they will come to fix early next week. I have no confidence that it will be fixed if and when they come; was told that Bosch are difficult to deal with takes a long time for parts to arrive, and their appliances are hard to fix as well.
Well, I would have been without a cooktop for over 3 weeks by then - just using my camping stove.
I am also currently without my Bosch Combi Oven (another story).
Not happy.

Amazing cooktop – I recently built a house and decided to supply my own appliances so I could shop around and choose what I wanted - which was primarily and induction cooktop, but I also wanted Bosch appliances to match my dishwasher & fridge I found this model cooktop at my local Harvey Norman for a great deal as an ex-display model, and, Bosch were offereing a free cookware deal - how could I refuse?
Using this cooktop is so fantastic, I'm actually enjoying cooking again - the power control is superb, with something like 18 power levels to choose from and the flex zone is great for long roasting dishes etc.
Water is quick to boil on the boost setting (so quick I sometimes forget and walk off to change TV channel etc and its already rapid boiling in seconds) and, as mentioned above, the flexibility for temperature control means you can always get the exact setting you want - including melting chocolate straight in the saucepan on 1.
My only gripe with the unit (and a very minor one) is that with the flex zone, I would prefer it to default to half/half, then select the whole zone if I wanted it (the opposite to now) - but hey, it's only a single button press to change it.
My other gripe is the bonus cookware set I mentioned above.. the one I don't have... because the cooktop was store stock, it was ordered before the promotion, which meant Bosch didn't send a set with that cooktop... so the store told me to call Bosch, Bosch told me to call the store.. no-one knew what was happening and I gave up, which is disappointing given the amount of moeny I have spent on Bosch appliances (and powertools!) over the years.
Nearly a year since we installed this cooktop and i can't imagine not having it - going induction is the best thing I ever did in the kitchen.
Never received the cookware, or heard back from Bosch about it, but the cooktop was still worth it

Induction cooktops - briliant! – we purchased this back in September 2013 , these have to be hard wired when installed , so installation not cheap (around $400) and you also need pans that have magnetic bottoms , so we bought the Jamie Oliver Induction pans , this cooktop is amazing , induction cooking is very fast , very responsive , like cooking with gas ,the minute you change the temperature controls , you can hear the response , it has a boost function which boils water very quickly , the multi function zone is great too, super easy to clean , looks fantastic , the only concern is the bigger ring on the right hand side at the front is very fussy when accepting pans , it will accept the largest pan , and smaller ones , but won't take the saucepan which matches the ring exactly , which can be really frustrating! fast , responsive , easy to clean front ring a bit fussy with size of pans

Check the bottom of your Jamie Oliver cookware. Although the pan may appear to fit the zone exactly the actual magnetic area on the base is smaller than the overall diameter of the pot/pan. Also, some cookware has small ridges on the bottom which isn't the best design for induction (totally flat base is the best).

Update: the technician visited for the 3rd time on 12/12/2017, talked to the Bosch technician directly and was told the part sent was incorrect and was informed what the correct part should be. Technician returned again today 20/12/2017, wrong part again, and my cooktop has not worked at all for the last 4 weeks and 5 days.
