Now that I moved to a place with a different dishwasher, I appreciate it so much more – Bought this a little over a year ago and found it to be pretty great. Each program is actually unique and Extra Dry actually work! I moved into a place with a built in and its just not as good. Show details
Stay away from this machine – I purchased this dishwasher (Bosh SMS50E32AU/44) in August 2016 but it broke 3 times within 4 years. Each time it had a different error code but with the same message: check the water level. Bosh fixed twice, 1 within 2 years warranty period and 1 during the 3rd year of the consumer insurance period. (After many calls and an email before I know… Read more
such insurance exists). During the second repairing, I was told the machine had a factory faulty on one of the parts. I asked for the replacement of the machine but got rejected.
I don’t understand why the machine can’t be replaced due to factory error. But I had no choice other than accepting their repairing. Now just a bit more than a year after the second repairing the machine was broken again. This time I was told that Bosh will come to repair but if it is not the factory error I have to pay all the fees.
How fair this is to the customer? I won’t know whether this time the problem was caused by factory error or by Bosh machine’s poor quality. I think one thing is certain: I won’t repair this poor-quality machine out of my own pocket. After all, it would only last for a year anyway after the repairing.
It is a nightmare to have this machine. Not mention the inconvenience and stress it has caused my family and myself for having to hand washing all the dishes, making phone calls, taking days off from work to wait for the technicians etc. So STAY away from this machine and BOSH products.

Worked great for 2.5 years – We picked up the Bosch SMS50E32AU dishwasher on sale and worked very well for 2.5 years. We love to cook but hate cleaning so we don't pre-rinse the dishes and load it up pretty heavy each night. It was reasonably quiet and the dishes almost always came out sparkling clean. I did maintain the filters, did cleaning cycles, etc. The only issue was… Read more
that 6 months out of warranty an E-15 error appeared. A Bosch service technician was going to take over a week to come and look at it, so I arranged a local appliance tech to come out same day. He said the plastic base had significantly warped causing it to leak and wasn't worth repairing. He also recommended using their German made Series 6 or higher which have stainless steel tubs. I have tried contacting the Bosch service team to get their comment and if the machine was in fact not worth repairing, but after weeks there hasn't been any reply. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the budget end of Bosch and I don't rate their response rate for service. I have since purchased a different brand.
Highly Recommend This Dishwasher – After our 25 year old Kleenmaid died we again looked to trusty ProductReview for guidance. We saw that as long as you did not get a lemon, (like with every brand and every appliance) people were largely happy with this machine. Fortunately we saw it on an end of financial special and placed our order through a company on Ebay. Appliances Online.… Read more · 1
It was delivered quicker than they said and they even took away the old one plus packaging. I did have the fun of installing it but that was pretty easy.
What we have discovered is that our dear Kleenmaid was doing a bad job towards the end and we had gotten used to food stuck on plates etc. This Bosch has yet to disappoint even though we have often just used the quick cycle and no more than the normal cycle.
The layout of the machine is good and we feel that we can fit more in it even though it is the size of the old Kleenmaid. Using it is very simple and the countdown timer is good because it allows you to turn off the dishwasher with thirty minutes to go (normal cycle) and open the door, pull out the racks and let the washed items rapidly air dry. It is extremely and pleasantly quiet.
I was for ever having to clean the filter and spoke arms of the old Kleenmaid but so far have not yet needed to do this with the Bosch.
Therefore and so far, we can recommend the Bosch especially if you see it on special.

unusual (across brands)
New SMS50E32AU is:
- Very quiet when running - (same as old), we put the machine on at night then go to bed.
- Cleans well - although you will need to check & clean the filter in the bottom regularly. I would also run a cleaner regularly, given our previous experience. We mostly use 65 degree wash
- Cutlery container in bottom drawer is still the same – we didn’t use that one either. We kept the one from a previous Westinghouse DW. The Bosch one is difficult to put the cutlery in if the handle is thicker than kmart cutlery (no offence to Kmart)…..
- I think that it actually dries better than the old model as there is less water left on the tops of the mugs, this may also be due to a slightly bigger angle in the top tray.
This model is almost a replica of our old one. The only differences:
- did not come with a knife tray on the top shelf (we added the one from our old Bosch)
inside is Poly not stainless steel for the inside base & a frame around the internal edge, still smells a bit plastic-y but we’ve only run it a few times. Can’t really complain at 2/3 the price of the old machine.
- New machine uses slightly more water & power
While this is a free standing model, we have it under our bench (our benches are higher than normal.
We purposely picked a cheaper machine this time, if dishwashers only last 5 years then it’s not as expensive to replace. My husband wanted the Beko DFN38450W but due to the immediate availability of the Bosch we decided to give them one more opportunity.
Hopefully it will earn the 5 star rating in the long run (i.e. perform well & not die before 5 years)

I made mine mobile .... I love it – I purchased my Bosch SMS50E32AU from appliances online in 2018 for $596.00. I couldn't install it so I bought a dolly, tap fittings and a new threaded tap (cost around $100) to hook it up to my tap, wheeling it to the back door to drain. I wash every 1-2 days using the short cycle pots n pans for most washes, never pre-rinsing and unless over… Read more · 1
stacked everything comes out sparkling. I run a dishwasher cleaner through it once every few months and the polytub is easy to keep clean. I haven't had 1 issue and I'm as happy as the day I bought it. Negatives - plastic comes out wet and often overturn filling with water so I use a drying rack for those. Easy to use, great basic dishwasher, would definitely recommend.
Reliable and works well – Have been using this appliance for about 5 years now. It may be older as it was installed when we moved in. Not a single issue, does a great job cleaning the dishes. Easy to use and no fuss at all. I expect it to last a long time. Show reply
Perfect dishwasher – I Have had this dishwasher since the start of the year i had a lg which lasted me about 6 years it was good and big inside until one of the components broke and i ended up buying a bosch dishwasher which i am very happy with i like that the racks are high and you can put plates in the bottom rack and it wont hit the water spray. also the vario… Read more · 1

Never buying Bosch again – Purchased in August 2015. Died approximately four years later. Error message E-09 - heat pump or pc board error. Both are expensive repairs. Repairmen tell me not to bother, just buy a new one. Absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention, this dishwasher was never that great to start with. The "finish powerball" recommended product NEVER dissolved… Read more
fully. Constantly running out of rinse aid. Washes were extremely long. Forget Bosch. This dishwasher dying within four years of purchase has put me off the brand for life.
Water Heater – We've had this dishwasher for just over 2 years, no problems until a few days ago an error message E:09 appeared and now it no longer heats the water. For the cost of the replacement part and repairman it feels like we would be better off buying a brand new machine which feels ridiculous for a machine that is only 2 years old. Show details

Often have to rewash dishes – Replaced our fabulous old BOSCH dishwasher with this one - a similar model - and it’s been really disappointing. Every wash, quite a few plates still have debris on them and have to go back in again. Any plates that even slightly hang through the bottom rack impede the bottom rotating spray arm, which partly explains the debris on the plates, but… Read more
not fully: we are now pretty vigilant about making sure nothing hangs below, and we still get debris. The old dishwasher would perfectly wash even an over-packed dishwasher. This one, we underload. This, combined with rewashing plates, means we are using more water. Sad face.

Great dishwasher but quick program does not dry dishes sufficiently – Coming from an older bosch which gave up after 10 years of service. Good cleaning, inexpensive, easy to use, not ever clogged. In the standard program works perfect. Took one star out as the quick program does not dry the dishes sufficiently Show details · 1
Compact dishwasher – I bought this for my rental property...it consumes less water therefore it will help me to save money on my rental income the long term...i haven't used it yet but the extensive warranty gives me piece of mind... Show reply

Best Dishwasher I’ve ever owned! – After spending over $1000 each time I needed to replace my dishwasher, I thought I would get on here and give you all a great tip. This is just the greatest! Family of 6 and I can honestly say that I have only ever used the Quick cycle and EVERYTHING cleans perfectly! I also only use the cheap Shine tablets from Woolworths, so I’m a bit excited… Read more · 1
about this purchase! Hope this review saves you all from wasting more big dollars on yet another appliance that fails to perform! Nothing worse!
Reliable and excellent – I've owned this dishwasher for 5.5 years and really like it. It's reliable and washes well. It's also easy to set up and use. I find the quick wash cycle is good enough for most regular washes so it's fast and economical. Show details · 1
Best Dishwasher – We purchased the White Bosch SMS50E32A Dishwasher from Retravision in May 2017 We were looking for a replacement for our previous dishwasher. The quality of this machine was not a surprise, it is very easy to use and has very clear instructions. You have the choice of long and short cycles which is quite ideal, we mainly use the quick option… Read more · 1
which cleans excellent. We have only ever had one bad run but that was due to incorrect stacking.
This dishwasher is very water and energy efficient, if we ever need a replacement we will be replacing it again with a Bosch system.
This system is very quiet compared to our previous machine.
You do have the choice of either white or silver at time of purchase
A quiet and quality dishwasher – We had this dishwasher since 2016 and it is one of the most used appliance in our household. The one hour cycle does the job well if you are time poor, otherwise the standard cycle is 2 hours and 20 minutes. The only cons is that on a rare occasion, for some reason the soap isn't washed off completely and the glass feels slippery but that's only happened about a handful times since we bought it. Fantastic dishwasher – I bought this dishwasher about a year ago. What a fantastic dishwasher. It is so quiet. Washes very well. We are on tank water, so water usage was important. Cleans properly the first time. Show details · 1
QUALITY BOSCH - REASONABLE PRICE – We scrap most food scraps from dishes before loading and the machine cleans the dishes extremely well. Never any food residue on the crockery. Leaves glasses shiny and clean. Easy to load and unload. The cutlery basket is well designed. Do find it fairly noisy though, can make strange sucking sounds which can be somewhat disconcerting. Water Heater has died – This has been a great machine for the last five years but now only washes cold (not nice) and displays the E09 error at the end of the cycle. Google advises that it probably needs a new water heater but finding a technician who doesn't charge the earth or buying spare parts is challenging. Show details · 1
Great Value Machine – I really like this dishwasher. It's quieter than the last Bosch we had and it has a display screen to indicate the time left. The vario setting does a pretty impressive job of reducing the cycle time. My only issue is that it does not have a pause button (the last one did). I guess you just open the door but I preferred the option to pause first.… Read more · 1
The door also is much quieter to open and close than the last one (which is great if you have a sleeping baby).
Quality at a budget price – A Bellini brand dishwasher was installed when we bought our house, a horrible machine so when it died 2 months out of warranty replaced it with the Bosch. My daughter had the top of the line model, and this is certainly a budget version but it works flawlessly. Extremely quiet, does a perfect job on the dishes and has enough programs for us. Love that we can have wine glasses in top rack and still fit large dinner plates on lower rack. Show details · 1

Love this product – Very satisfied, super quiet cleans well...although I always rinse dishes before loading. only issue is the time it takes for water to evaporate after cycle is completed, yes I do leave the door ajar. The 45minute cycle is great when I only have cups and plates, very economical. Easy to use A1 product. Show details · 1
Bosch stand behind their products – My Bosch Dishwasher broke down. it wasn’t heating or washing. Contacted Bosch re the above problem and it was fixed in no time at all. I was very pleased with their after sales service and l would not hesitate to recommend the Bosch Brand to anyone. I Would also not hesitate to purchase Bosch products again. Show details · 1
Fine so far! – Simple basic machine not yet had any issues at all! It works and fairly well. I prefer the smeg I had before because the glasses and cups bottoms seem to not collect water on top as much with the smeg. But I do like the simple control panel on this model. Cleans well but does make weird sounds but so does my friends older Bosch Show details · 1
It’s a great dishwasher – It cleans sparkly Clean and is super super super quiet - I find the door heavy and hard to open but it is a great unit for the money and with no bells and whistles does the job well - extra dry gesture hard to work out but not really needed - also doesn’t dry on the quick cycle Shelves can be adjusted but. Ot really needed Show details · 1
Very quiet dish washer – I bought this dish washer to replace my old very noisy one. It is very good price just $545 includes delivery to door. Before when I buy the dish washer, I tried to look for Bosh, but it was higher price compared with Westinghouse, now is different :). It is really quiet and look very nice. Show details · 1
Good and economical – Bought it as it was the second economical Bosch machine in terms of the price.. I wouldn’t say it’s the best but does what it supposed to do. The little screen is good enough to know where the cycle is up to wheres fancy big screen which you’d have to pay extra for with same functionality. Would buy again. Show details · 1
My favourite appliance – I have had this for about 4 years now, and it is easy to use, does an excellent job, and reasonably quiet during operation. There are fancier and more expensive machines, but this one does everything admirably. I have tried a number of dishwashing tablets and Finish do seem to be the best although the cheaper ALDI ones work also. It does seem to go through the rinse aid a bit fast, but possibly they all do? Lemon – Replaced my 10year old bosh dishwasher with this model. Bad choice!! Really bad stink coming out of top part of the dishwasher and no, it’s not a new machine smell. Bought it at Harvey Norman less than 3 weeks ago. Rep coming to inspect it next week even though I was hoping for an exchange or refund.Hopefully there’ll be a good outcome next week. So disappointed. Show details

A Great Choice – After much deliberation, we chose this unit to replace our old dishwasher. The top rack slides out completely and can be lowered (there's a choice of 2 slots) and I had concerns this might be tricky, but even if it's loaded with dishes it's a smooth transition between the two. It's reasonably quiet, and does a great job of cleaning, although on… Read more · 1
the odd occasion it will leave remnants of the tablet behind, but this may be a tablet issue and not a dishwasher one. All in all, I would buy this again.
first time user – Being my first ever dishwasher So I was disappointed when the dishes came out with debris still on them. Bosch technician had the answer and the remedy is to use Aldi rinse aid, and 2 teaspoons of Aldi blue pack dishwasher powder and now I have shining clean dishes using every cycle. Dishwasher is very quiet and I set it to go on during the… Read more · 1
night using off peak electricity and really reliable.I would recommend it to anyone buying a new dishjwasher.
Excellent Dishwasher – The Bosch dishwasher is so quiet, I have to listen carefully to make sure it is working, the dishes are super clean and there is so much more room in it compared to my previous dishwasher and yet they are the same size. Using it is very easy, well worth the money. Check out their little videos on U Tube on the best way to stack and use. Show details · 1
Very happy – It is quiet and she's a good job. We only use the normal wash cycle on the express function, do takes about forty minutes to clean. We make sure we Clean the filter each week and haven't had any troubles whatsoever. Some of the plastic feels flimsy but this machine has been awesome! Show details · 1
Excellent dishwasher, quiet and very clean result – This dishwasher is phenomenal. It cleans and dries the dishes very effectively (in around 1 hour mark). Operation is very quiet as well. There is not much sound other than splashing of water. Overall a very good machine! One negative is it's price is higher than others but worth the price in my opinion. Show details · 1
