It broke, but gave 15 years of good service – Our 15yo Bosch has now failed, but gave years of good service since its purchase in 2009. It has been used every second day and washed clothes very well. Power and water consumption were minimal. The only problem with it over the years was the electronic push button sometimes had a mind of its own, and skipped through more than one button push. … Read more
I put too many clothes into it a couple of months ago and overloaded it, which I think lead to premature bearing failure, which caused the drum to hit the heater and damage it - warm or hot washes not possible anymore. And now the bearings are very noisy and the drum is squeaky when it rotates. So it's time for a new machine.
Given the good service from this machine, I'll be replacing it with another Bosch.
LOVE IT!!! – Bought 9 years ago.Outstanding machine in every respect. I just wish it wouldnt do the reminder beeps at the end of each cycle. It has now developed its first ever fault, So I will see if they can disconnect the beeper while they are repairing in. I am definitely sold on Bosch. My Bosch condensor dryer is awesome too Show details · 1
Cleans well – I'm very happy with my front loader my clothes come out squeakyclean on the economical setting . I can fit in my 7kg Bosh , A fitted sheet, doona cover, 4 pillowcases all from a king bed, it does fit but it is jampacked in there, so I do you prefer to do them separately, I feel if they move around in the machine they will wash better, but… Read more · 1
they still wash fine all together..
One of the great things about this machine if someone leaves a tissue in their pocket it usually ends up sitting in the rubber seal, still intact not in 1 million pieces all over the place.
Do not use fabric softener in this machine,it makes it stink, it must stick to the inside and go all smelly, also leave the door open so it can dry out.
Occasionally the buttons play up on me, but it is still under warranty it hasn't done enough to call someone out .
Is it really 7kg? Seems like 4kg! – My 7kg Bosch front loader cannot take as many clothes as my old FP 5.5kg???? I find the drum very small, wish I had a look before purchase. Also it takes a long time to wash clothes, even on s 30 minutewuick wash it barely spun try the towels, I had to select spin dry, (another 12 minutes!!??) slightly frustrated. Show details
Disappointing machine – After having had a Maytag for 12 years I bought this now discontinued Bosch a month ago. It washes normal clothes Ok. However I am very disappointed it doesn't get my husband's greasy work clothes clean like the Maytag did even when using the longest setting plus the intense or prewash settings. Do I have any redress? I feel let down. Show details

Hate this machine – I bought this machine 1 month ago and I am so disappointed with it. I love soft fluffy towels and my other machines always left them fluffy but with this Bosch my towels are hard and rough. I've done everything by using 1/2 the recommended liquid washing product , fluffy softener and even putting them through a cycle with no powder just… Read more
softener. I'm thinking of selling the machine and getting a top loader. Also it says you can stop/pause the wash and add clothes but you can't. You have to put it on drain first then you can. I do NOT recommend this machine.

Grey stains on ALL white fabrics Wae 22462AU discontinued, not surprised – It has taken me three years to finally realize that the cause of grey stains and spots all over my white garments is not washing powder but a machine fault. It is even shown on the Q and A section. I called Bosch and was told I had to run the machine through 3 cycles on 90 degs. No apology, no mention in the handbook. Never buy Bosch again.
Still happening despite putting it through empty at 90 degrees, another 2 tops wrecked today, furious.
Good washer – We bought this from Harvey Norman for $699 a couple of months ago. All working good so far. It's quiet and sturdy and seems to be doing a good job of washing the clothes. The only really annoying thing is the analogue dial and end of cycle beeping. For starters it sounds like a truck backing up, and it doesn't just ring once, it seems to… Read more
continually ring every minute or two until you go in and manually turn the dial to the "off" position. This is unlike our old Fisher & Pykel that had a digital switch, so it was able to turn itself off after washing. Not a major deal breaker but none the less very annoying, this machine expects you to haul in and turn it off immediately at the end of cycle and if not, it's going to nag the hell out of you until you do. Sturdy, quiet, good washing. Analogue dial & end of cycle beeping
Washes my clothes well! – I chose this Bosch washing machine because it had a four star rating for both electricity and water. It does a great job of washing my clothes, they come out clean, smelling fresh and aren't too wet. It's simple to use and there are quite a lot of programmes to choose from. It's relatively quiet and the spin function works well (my last machine… Read more
made the windows shake when it was on spin).
On the downside, why can't Bosch make products that turn themselves off??? When it's done, it stays on and beeps about every minute - it's so annoying (my Bosch dishwasher also stays on when it's finished). The instruction booklet is not detailed at all and not laid out well. And the rubber door seal always has a mouldy smell - since day one. Reliable, efficient, great value for money Beeping noise, rubber door seal, instructions
Everything you need – This is my first front loader. Parents bought a Maytag front loader and it was good but not great, but the Bosh is half the price of the expensive brands and its been much better than the one my parents bought. Many Functions and it cleans well, and the clothes come out relatively dryer than a top loader that I used to have (and the top loader ate… Read more · 1
and ripped my clothes) and its super simple to use. I love the electronics and even though people are disappointed this range is assembles in Thailand, Im re-assured that the parts are from Germany and the machine showed up with a little water in the compartments showing that it had been tested. I don't think Im ever going to go back to a toploader - the efficiency has been astonishing. Water Efficiency, Energy Efficiency - Lots of Functions It was a bit expensive.
Bosch 7kg front loader – This is a great machine. It has a four star energy and power rating, the everyday wash cycle time is approximately 50 minutes (a top loader is on average 45 mins). It is very reliable, and it also has an aqua secure function which eliminates the risk of flooding if a leak develops. all in all i would recommend this as an excellent front loader. Also it is much cheaper than a miele!!! Energy efficient
Good quiet machine which washes well – This is my first front loader, after two top loaders. I was unsure about going front loader due to long cycle times and not being able to add more items just after the start of a wash. But the quick wash setting is great for lightly soiled clothes. It's even quicker than the old top loader. Variable spin speeds from 400 up to 1200rpm - I… Read more · 1
mainly use 800rpm for line drying. Bosch was chosen for its reputation and reliability, plus my earlier good experiences with Bosch kitchen appliances. However this particular model is not made in Germany. I also bought a stand to save bending down too low to fill/empty the machine.
Bought this 7kg machine over the more popular 6.5kg Bosch machine for a few reasons: 1) 7kg capacity 2) larger display, and 3) leak safety valve built into the inlet hose. Upon reflection, it is probably better to save ~$200 and go for the standard Bosch 6.5kg machine. But still happy with this one. Quiet - mostly. 4 stars for both electricity and water. Should be a good quality long lasting machine (time will tell) Spin can be noisy. A small amount of water always stays at the bottom of the rubber door seal - could lead to mould eventually.
Great washing machine – After switching from a top loader I haven't been disappointed with the Bosch. It's very quiet, and performance is great. I like the many cycle options, and washes delicates well. The express wash cycle is very handy as the full cycles are quite long. Reliable and quiet. More expensive.
