Guaranteed to fail – Just died after 8.5 years which was 0.5 years more then the matching drier. Light used 1-2 person household. Fault is always no power on main cct board, the replacement cct board almost cost as much as a new machine. Will give F&P a go this time. Bye, bye bosch. Show details

Great brand and impressive machine – WAS24460AU I’ve owned this machine over 10yrs and couldn’t be happier with the value for money opportunity it has provided us. As expected we have had a couple of repairs done last 12 months but more than happy to have machine looked over. Issues we suffered included - temporary lost of temperature which was only the fuse. $160. About to update the machine as the drum is becoming noisy and again the machine is 10yrs plus old. I would recommend the Bosch Brand to anyone keen to try it.

Beware the maintenance costs! – Solid unit which has been generally reliable, however the couple of times we have needed maintenance, Bosch are price gouging. If you look at the lifecycle cost of ownership, buy something else. Door seals last 3-4 years (based on 3-4 wash cycles per week) and cost around $250 to replace with the call our fee. Most recently, we had a control… Read more

board failure just outside the warranty period, cost to replace including call out fee for service technician is over $700! That's 2/3rds the cost of the new washing machine. Rang and spoke to Bosch and they confirmed the price.

5 years, excellent machine, never a problem – Love this machine, it’s so simple to use. Bought it because you can open the door during the wash program (with low water level). Fantastic range of programs for natural and synthetic fibres, is really quiet, gentle on clothes and it has never failed me. Perhaps I handle it more gently than others!  Show details ·  1

Great washing machine – Had for over 5 years. The unit has been absolutely faultless until the door got stuck and obviously the door release part has broken. Will get a replacement part for this but otherwise very pleased with this unit as it cleans clothes very well and doesn't seem to mind being on rainwater entirely.  Show details ·  1

3 years old and problems – I previously owned a base model Bosch front loader which I sold to a relative. they still have it after 10 years and its problem free. fascia! (I cant believe it). Its as though it was written in Texta and I dont know why.

Until recently when it started to get noisy. it sounds like the bearing to me but cant be sure, its not leaking (yet) that i can see and no other problems yet.

I have to say that I am a bit shocked that there is a possible problem developing consider the cost and brand.

My sister owns a more expensive model and has had no problems after more than 5 years.

I have always been pro Bosch but now I am reconsidering.

Ive decided to wait and see how this noise develops.

its a rough mild grinding noise which makes me think of bearing. Dont know what else it could be.

So, the question for the future is, do we buy a disposable machine (cheaper low spec) and possibly replace as needed or risk higher end (Miele comes to mind) and hope for the best.

Fingers crossed this one keeps going albeit noisy.

Not a premium make – Bought this in 2012 to replace a Whirlpool which kept breaking down while new. Only 2 of us and in the last week of the extended warranty it needed a new motherboard and door latch. The latch broke when the machine stopped working locking the door! Glad it was under warranty as the price of repair was ridiculous. For the last couple of months… Read more

the machine has been acting up- not spinning, drum banging when spinning sounding like it is going to destroy itself. It is time to throw it out as the cost of repair would be stupid. Very disappointed as we thought this was an 'premium' quality brand. Looking at the experience here of other owners, motherboard failure is a common/known issue and yet the manufacturer does not assist when they go wrong. My view is luckily I am the consumer, I decide where I spend my hard earned money and this time round it will not be with a Chinese built load of German technology rubbish.

Constantly stops midwash – This washing machine complains of blocked outflow every 4 or 5 loads, which in a house of 2 adults and 4 children is at least twice per week. Each time the wash cycle stops and can ot be restarted. this process we have only on one occasion found an object in here - a coin. Every other time we go through the motions, make a mess and then restart the wash. For such an expensive machine this is ridiculous. We have also had trouble with our Bosch drier and replaced with another brand. Will be doing the same with the washing machine and will never go back!

Works fine but died in 7 years! – Washes clothes alright but most of the time needs to do double rinse. Not much noticeable variations in the different settings except for the obvious - time, speed, which can be done manually. Have to clean the dispenser after every wash because there's always leftover that causes mold if left unattended. Smelly molds grow on the cover rubber lid due to water not properly draining after washing. Show details

Motherboard dead – Llike the previous reviewer i also purchased this washing machine in 2011 and have been told today by the Bosch service guy the motherboard has died. Also customer service didn't clarify their call out fee of $110 included 20 minutes of labour (the service guy told me) only kept saying the call out fee plus $9.90 per 6 minutes. Dish Washer (12 months old failed a few days ago) and today the washing machine – I have a kitchen full of Bosch appliances (oven, combo oven/microwave, dishwasher, cook top & extractor fan) purchased in November 2017. They were purchased on the reliability of a Bosch clothes dryer and washing machine, replacing a 20 year old (still working like new) Simpson washer & dryer. I've always spent a little more to ensure we get… Read more

appliances that will last a long time, I had the extended warranty as these were my first Bosch purchases ever. A few days ago the dishwasher started with an error, I've got a Bosch tech coming on the 9th of Jan to review under warranty. Now last night the washing machine has failed mid cycle with no power. This fault seems to be a consistent issue with the PCB on this site not addressed by Bosch. This model really should have been recalled due to the potential fire hazard being a safety risk. I called Bosch and was cut off twice and then had to leave a message for someone to call me back. When I had a call back I was told there would be a call out fee and no one would be able to come out until the 10th of January. After conveying the extreme disappointment and reliability of two Bosch products failing in a matter of days and demanding to speak with management regarding a service fee the tech is coming out to review the washing machine at no charge. I'm now worried about the other products I've purchased, are they all going to fail like the dish washer and washing machine? The outcome of how Bosch handle this is going to make me question if I ever purchase one of their appliance again. I have to take two days off work to be onsite for two different technicians to review the two products losing 2 days of annual leave. My wife is going to her mothers to use her washing machine, as we have a 7ish month old daughter and needs to wash her clothes etc. Being a reoccurring fault described by numerous others here are Bosch going to stand by their products and accept that this is an issue they need to bear with products that should last more than a few years?

Only lasts 6 years! No recall issued by Bosch on a faulty model – Very, very disappointed with this Bosch model. the drum started filling with smoke and the acrid smell of burning rubber went through the entire house. I contacted Bosch in Melbourne and told them what happened. Am still waiting to hear back from Customer Service (apparently you have to wait up to 2 weeks!). Never mind your dirty laundry.

In the meantime an independent repair guy took a look and found the drum was out of alignment, causing it to rub against the front door seal as it spun (hence the burn out). This is a four year old machine, used twice a week on a 15 minute cycle by a single household. I'm 2 years out of warranty and it will cost more than half the price of a new machine to repair it.

A friend recommended Bosch because his machine has been going for 15 years. I also have a Bosch dishwasher so I'm hoping they'll call me back to negotiate something. They really should stand by their products.
