premium by approx $24 per MONTH every year to a point where I was forced to get down from an 85% refund to a 65% refund, as I was paying $160 per month, until my dog turned 11 yo. These crooks raised the premium by $66 per MONTH, an extra $800 per year! With a refund of 65%, they now want me to pay $226 PER MONTH!!! My dog only gets monthly arthritis injections and thats all! A peanuts payout to what they raised the premium to, keeping in mind that every year from now on they will be raising the premium by hundred of dollars! Their call centre is in Phillipines, their operators are untrained to answer any questions, they treat you like dirt, they put you on mute while you are talking to them, and feed you some generic garbage. I requested a layout of how they came to such an increase in premium to which I was told that they dont have to give me that information, some other operator said it was computer generated, another operator said its worked out manually. They are thieves. I am on disability pension, and I will most likely need to stop paying insurance so that I will have enough money for groceries, and this is when my fur baby is about to turn 12yo, now he will probably need insurance the most, and they are forcing me to forgo it after being a loyal customer with them for nearly 12 years, btw, they dont give a rats butt about your loyalty to them, they are just money hungry crooks, so do yourself a favour, and shop around for a more honest pet insurance company who will not end up robbing you blind!

Annual premiums have become unaffordable! – Their renewal premiums increase dramatically each year. This year's policy was due to increase for 2 pomeranians, by over $1500. BWM said they were seperate conditions and allocated the $500 excess to each invoice meaning we barely got anything back. I had to phone BWM after every visit as the vet told us BWM didn’t pay anything towards the bill. Every time I fought the cause arguing on the phone how unfair this was and an absolute con! My complaint went to the review and I’m getting a refund of nearly $800. I wonder how many people just give up because it’s too hard?? Won’t insure my next animal with them. Even the vet said BWM are the hardest to deal with. Do not recommend BWM. Unnecessarily difficult. At 15 your dog gets diagnosed with heart failure it is heart breaking and then you have the added angst of dealing with BWM!

The claim process was so easy to do online, but with larger bills, I get my vet clinic to process it on the spot, which is done within 15 minutes, and all I had to do was pay the gap. The insurance plan I chose, covers 80% of the cost, which is significant with a $2,000 dental bill. Although pet insurance is quite expensive in itself, the relief it gives me is unmeasurable. My dog is my everything, and sacrificing insurance payments every two weeks, is a small price to pay for the peace of mind I have, knowing she is medically covered. My financial position is not good, living on a pension, but I was able to nominate the day the payments come out and the gap fees are achievable for me to save for, or pay off. I never have to worry about the vet bill, which is a significant relief, during an already stressful time when your pet is sick or injured, so I recommend that even if you are financially struggling, it is an investment you need and won’t regret. The only thing cheaper than pet insurance, is religiously putting money aside every payday, solely for future vet care, but if you’re anything like me, and saving large amounts of money for lengthy periods of time, is near impossible not to dip into, then pet insurance is definitely the best option.
