not too bad – Worked perfectly when i first got it, then noticed that there is a cold spot in one section. The power plug is very hard to push in properly, and sometimes it does not connect properly even though it has been pushed all the way in, so when you think the fry pan is warming up, you come back to find the plug was not seated correctly and have to… Read more

start over. Also very hard to maintain temperature as i find it tends to turn off and on without reaching the desired temperature, which means you have to set it full blast to get anything cooking. As far as the non stick goes, I find hasnt peeled off like other frypans, although I am very careful not to scratch it with utensils or the scourer. non stick, good lid Temperature control is quite flimsy, very bulky and heavy to wash, power plug very hard to connect properly

A Good Useful Pan but Not Brevilles Best Applience – We bought one of these over 4 years ago now and soon there after bought another one as we love our roast vegies. While you can do a lot in one pan we wanted to do more so bought another as we were happy with the results from the first one. When we bought the second one I burnt the vegies to charcoal using the same heat setting on the dial.… Read more

After a bit of trial and error (blackend carrots) I worked out that the heat setting on the dial was about 3 numbers out to get the same result. Maybe I should have taken this issue up with Breville under warranty but my thoughts were, it works so why go thought the frustration that can some time result in dealing with warranty issues.

From a quality control point the vast difference with the temperature on the two pans is a fairly serious problem and effects the normally good Breville name.

Both pans also have an issue with uneven heat as an area near one end on both pans cooks slower (not as hot). That area affected is about one large potato in width. I use this to an advantage when tuning the vegies over as I move the small ones cooking quickly to this spot.

All up they are still a good pan but maybe not quite up to the high standard I come to expect and have experienced with other Breville appliances. Good size (large and deep), Easy to clean, Glass lid Variation in temperature control between the two pans we have, small area uneven heating in both pans

Terrible temperature control – Hopeless if you want to cook something in it. Bought this frypan about 2 years ago. The selling points were it's size, even heat distribution, the non stick coating and 14 temperature settings. Cooking steak entails setting temperature to sear initially, then turning down to about 10. Right from new, it would cook away merrily until the thermostat… Read more

cycled off, then after 3 or 4 minutes it turns back on again until it reaches temp and and turns off for another 3 or 4 minutes. Have the same model at my workplace and anything under setting 2 is off and anything over 2 is always on. Called Breville, albeit after warranty had expired. Woman was polite, but wasn't concerned. Said I could buy another thermostat for $41. Poor for an appliance that's sole purpose relies on temperature control. Save yourself the disappointment and buy another brand. Good size, non stick coating Temperature control non existent.

I agree with you about the temperature control. It is very hard to know what setting to leave it… Read more

The lid is dangerous – I have had this frypan for a few years now and I all ways have to be extra carefull of the lid as it has the vent system which you can open or close attached to the handle, when I lift the lid the centre screw come loose and the lid being very heavy comes apart even though I hardly move the vent part. I have had a few hot misshaps. I did replace… Read more

the lid at the beginning but to no avail. I'm not sure if Breville has changed this on their frypans,. Not to sure if this is to late to write about it now but incase someone buy's any electric frypan to make sure this does not happen. love to cook my roast vegies and it can be extreamly quick, very high heat, Lid drops away from the handle.

OK – Another quality product from Breville. The heat is just excellent even compare to my electricity cooktop, I only used its max output once so far (and I suggest dont switch to max), half (7/14) should be decent to do most of the thing. Got it like $90 in Bing Lee, didnt regret the purchase, the only down side is it is quite easy to scratch. I… Read more

already try to use it very carefully but still cant avoid scratching it. Also, it is quite heavy, so when washing it or lift it up to pour the food to a bowl it is not that easy. My gf even washing everything for me except this as she couldn't lift this up :P

In conclusion, good product if u can bear its weight, and wash it with sponge only! try avoid metal cookware and you will be fine. Heat output is excellentLooks good Heavy, make it hard to wash or take the food outThe pan is very easy to scratch

Heat control is terrible – After 9 months of ownership I'm scouting around looking for a replacement. The heat control is terrible. It will either burn your food or do nothing, there is no in-between. My wife nearly threw it into our pool tonight. Bye bye Breville Nice colour Bad heat control... rubber feet fell off (snapped).
