It's good but scratches easily – Cooks well and even. First one we had we had to take back because the nonnone stick started to bubble and then underneath would be rusted. Second one seems fine after a week. Only downside I have found is that it scratches really easily. Both had scratches (not all the way through) from cooking chops. Had to use flash in photo as they're hard to see without it. Show details

Cooks well but thermal bubbling after 2 months – It cooks amazing and the heat distribution is perfect. We've used it pretty much every day since purchasing 2 months ago. Have cooked steaks, snittys, small roasts and grilled sandwiches.. The only problem we have is that the Teflon coating has started to bubble around the edges. Those aren't tonnes of light scratches in the pics, it's just the sponge direction for cleaning it. Show details

love it – The best electric fry pan I have ever owned. Temperature gauge isn't temermential, doesn't stick or burn. The lead reaches my power point so I can use under my exhaust fan. Very very happy. Show details

Best electric frypan ever! – I’ve owned this frypan for over 6 months now and I haven’t had a single issue of food sticking at all. It’s so easy to wash and store and it’s a got a weight that makes it feel very sturdy. It heats up really fast and you’re not left with a heat ring mark whatsoever. Great product! Show details

fantastic – After much research decided that this was the frypan for us . We are only two adults so thought it might be too big but size comes in handy when we are cooking a full English breakfast . I am enjoying using this pan , very even heating element, easy to clean , my other frypans are obsolete. I would highly recommend this product but have to admit I… Read more

am a Breville tragic and have many products in my kitchen .My other fave appliance is the Breville smart oven air but that is another story .

Wonderful addition to any kitchen – I love this frypan! It has completely replaced much of my cooktop frying. The size is fantastic for big family meals and it heats really evenly. The heat is nice and quick so there is no waiting for the pan to heat up for ages when you are trying to get dinner on the go quickly. The handles are cool when the pan is hot. It is a heavy pan but not… Read more

over the top. I like that it is dishwasher safe. I regularly clean it in the dishwasher and have had no issues, but it is also really easy to clean by hand.

Very impressed – This product is absolutely perfect , I have left it a couple of months to write a review just in case , but I use it nearly every night and has not failed me yet, even heat and so easy to clean, I don’t regret this purchase for a second  Show details

Great step up for us – Note that this review is for the 460 model. This rectangular frypan is a big advantage for us over the old square ones we previously owned. The larger footprint makes it so much easier to turn food. This is complimented by an element that heats more evenly than former designs with a single circular loop in the middle. There is good elevation of… Read more

the plug end to allow fat to drain away. The non-stick surface is great too. We don't need much oil to stop foods sticking and we get that nice colour and taste of browned food that is not left on the bottom of the pan. A wipe out and a simple clean is a welcome end at the end of a meal. The clear lid is a nice addition but condensation often obscures the food so don't expect crystal clear vision of what you are cooking. The vent is a fixed position hole but this is no problem for the way we cook. The lid does not have a high dome so people wanting to cook large roasts or chicken may find this a problem. It is not as deep as some models but it is adequate for us, especially with the larger base area. A note of caution for those wanting to wash this in a conventional sink - the large size makes it hard to wash so I often use the laundry tub. Another issue has been the space between the glass lid and rolled metal edge on the inside of the lid where fat and other material can collect. We don't have a dishwasher so manually cleaning this space is difficult.

Love this Electric Frypan .... would not hesitate to buy another – Have been using this electric frypan for 4 years to make a wide variety of dishes. Love it for Pancakes, Special Fried Rice and countless other dishes. Use it 4 to 5 times a week. Easy to clean and Love that you can hand wash and it's also dishwasher safe. Have had no issues to date. If I had to be critical it would be that the outer perimeter of… Read more

the pan doesn't heat up as the much as the centre, but not that big a deal for any of the dishes I've created. I would not hesitate to purchase another replacement should this current workhorse wish to be laid to rest.

Thermostats are faulty – We bought a Breville Model BEF 450XL skillet in October 2014. A month later we had to replace the faulty thermostat. The new one works fine until the pan gets hot then turns off and doesn't turn back on until pan temperature has cooled. We now have a burning smell coming from thermostat. Phoned Breville and was informed that they have cancelled… Read more

this model and no thermostats are available. I can see why they dumped this model with it's faulty thermostat. Now stuck with a good pan and a poor thermostat. Won't be buying any Breville products any time soon

There is no better frypan! – Quality frying pan that goes the distance, used daily. Tried other brands, now I wouldn't buy anything else. Coating lasts, cooks evenly, reliable. Just bought replacement. Don't stop making them.!!!!!  Show details ·  1

Great frypan – We bought this frypan over two years ago and have had no problems. We use it a couple of times a week and except for a couple of scratches we made, it's as good as new. I found that wiping the frypan immediatly after use while it is still fairly warm and running under hot water with a bit of detergenteasily cleans any residue from cooking, Dry it with paper towel. Very happy with this appliance.  Show reply

Non stick surface painted on? – I purchased a Breville Frypan at Harvey Norman in Invercargill about a year ago. It started out well, and I have always cleaned it with dishwashing liquid and a cloth by hand, never using anything abrasive on the surface. Imagine my surprise when after a year the non stick surface appears to be coming off every time I wash it. The cooking surface… Read more

Better than expected – Have been using this every day for a couple of weeks and happy with it. A genuine non-stick so can use less cooking oil and surprisingly easy to clean. The rack inclusion is a great idea and works well. Heat distribution is better than a cheap pan but cover the entire pan with frozen chips and you'll see that they don't cook evenly over the whole… Read more

pan - the results weren't perfect, but good enough. Lightweight lid (for glass), easy clean, genuine non-stick. I've already burned myself a few times on the sides of the pan (didn't have that problem with my old Kambrook). So big and heavy that the pouring spout is difficult to use (bit of a gimmick). The lower heat settings aren't particularly effective (seems to stop cooking rather than simmer).

Love it!!! – Got this as a christmas present in 2012, been wanting a stainless steel frypan for some time. Love how it so user friendly; heats evenly throughout frypan, easy to clean and i love the glass lid so can observe my food while i am cooking. Really enjoy using it and know it will last for some time. Only fault is the frypan is not easy to put back in the box (with its original packaging) and take out and in the process I destroyed the box.

Excellent Frypan – I have owned several 'non stick' frypans over the years, they all end up slowly getting scratched up and once you have a scratch in that teflon coating you may as well through it out, this stainless steel pan is awesome it heats evenly, no cold spots! it doesn't stick there is a reason chefs cook with stainless steel and not teflon, it lasts the… Read more

distance I look forward to using my thermal pro non stick for many years to come :) Reliable, non stick, easy to clean, even heat, durable

Makes cooking a breeze – So happy with my purchase. This frypan might cost a little more than others on the market but once you cook with it you can tell why. Quality product, even heat distribution, easy temp dial. At last a non stick frypan which truly is non stick. Perfect for big families Doesnt fit in my sink - its huge :-)

Changed my life! – I have always had an electric fry pan but they underperformed on heat distribution. I recently bought this Thermal Pro and it is amazing. It's super easy to clean, can go in the dishwasher and it cooks so well. Best pikelets ever the other morning! heats quickly, evenly and has a host of other features I haven't even gotten to yet including being able to roast on the included roasting rack. good cooking surface, even temperature
