Makes pureeing a variety of foods very easy – The BSB510 Breville Stick Mixer has a 300w motor and 15 speed settings that make it very versatile for blending and pureeing different types of foods. I like the control grip with the trigger finger control when handling heavy sticky foods. Soups and liquid foods are very easy with the 300w motor and the 1.8m power cord gives you room to move on… Read more

the kitchen bench. It comes with a Mini chopper, a whisk (great for scrambled eggs), a blending jug and a solid stainless steel blending leg and blades. I purchased it from the Good Guys November 2023 for $115.00

Really disappointed – Impressed at the start, and it worked well for 8 or 9 blends over the first 12 months, but then the on/off switch jammed, and it will not turn off. Apart from happening just outside the warranty period, it made one helluva mess. Not going back to Breville. Show details

Very goodhand blender – Have had blender for 2 years . No issues. Strong motor .Handles ice well . Useful accessories. Use it more than food processors . Adult children who usedit for smoothies and breaking ice had only positive feedback

Quality of the blades is cheap, broken already – Got it for my mum as a gift. She used it few times and liked it, until recently when the blade decided to break inside the bowl while chopping onions. The blade a thin like a cheap knife and can't stand much stress at all. Worst of all, the blades are very expensive to buy. Disappointing!! Show details

Best thing I ever bought – Really good mixer, worth the price( got it on offer). A friend suggested I buy the breville brand and since then I have bought only breville brands. So far very happy with the mixer. Show details

It actually works! – I've had a horrid run with stick mixers over the years. They like to break soon after purchase, have sparking motors or overheat. This Breville BSB510CB model, I am pleased to say, has done NONE of the above! It actually works! And I've had it for about a year! It was an exchange for my broken orange Kenwood stick mixer... I have been careful to… Read more ·  2

not overheat it - taking time out for 30 seconds now and then when blending hot soups etc. It says not to mix soups when hot but I have done it anyway, and it's fine.

The whisk attachment works well, albeit a bit of a rough rotation.

Most of the attachments are dishwasher safe, which is great.

It's a handy tool to have in the kitchen, when you want that pancake mixture extra aerated so the pancakes are extra fluffy, want to get those last few lumps out of a mixture, want to process some nuts for home-made dukkah, or simply want to blend a soup.

It's not too loud, it doesn't vibrate your hand much and best of all, it actually works.

Not built for purpose – Internal plastic connection broken after less than 6 months use . We had been using the mixer for blending soups and smoothies so no real hard yakka involved My old Braun model we had for well over 5 years with no problems at all . Very disappointing as my breville hand beaters lasted a few years with constant use  Show details

Really good! – It's really a such domestic appliance with highly acceptable performance. It's also easy to clean and use with the speed control function. I like this brand because there is always the possibility to spend an affordable amount and have a good appliance in return.Hope they are going to last a reasonable length of time though!  Show details

Just okay – I had been looking at buying a stick blender for awhile and thought all were similar so didn't bother much about shopping around. I have since found out I should have. This stick blender appears to have a good source of power & works fast however there is no real speed control. I also am finding it awkward to hold as you have to apply a fair bit of pressure in order for it to work. Consider looking around.  Show details

Good little stick mixer – Handy little devices these when you don't have enough space for a full size food processor. Not sure if it is any better or worse than any of the other stick mixer. It comes with all the usual accessories such as a stick blenter, a small chopper/dicer bowl and a whisk. These are handly for mildhaskes, chopping small veges, make small batches of… Read more

soups/sources.

All bits clip together well.

Motor has enough power

fits in the hand well.

On/off button with variable speed control

Only downside to these is that the accessories do take up varying amounts of space so depending on your kitchen, if like ours its small so stuff is crammed in cupboards, sometimes bits fall out when you open the door. I can't see this being any different to any other stick mixer, just goes with the territory.

One day we'll get a magimix when we have a bigger kitchen, but until then this does the job.

Disappointing – I thought a stick mixer would be easier to deal with than a standard blender (for making salad dressings, smoothies, blending soups). Today I put the ingredients in the blender jug of the Breville (a few ice cubes, some frozen banana chunks, a cup of soy milk) - and it was useless; refused to blend even on high speed. Not very good if it can't even blend a basic smoothie.  Show details

Great addition to my kitchen! – I finally upgraded from the Breville BSB500 after nearly 4 years of use - - only because I found that my fingernails were now stopping me from pressing those buttons! (The buttons were "under the rim" if you know what I mean, the buttons had to be pressed INSIDE the stick. Found the new model with a better button style. Now the buttons are… Read more ·  1

actual "buttons" and they are very easy to press. Excellent so far.

The chopper lid is also MUCH easier to attach than it was on the older model. Still Excellent.

This new model also has variable speeds, which is great for crushing or chopping different ingredients. First use was to crush almonds then walnuts - - also excellent.

Love the red colour too. What more can I say - Excellent machine!!

Beware: Chopper Blade Broke And Cracked The Bowl. Poor Quality – Poor quality product, didn't even last a year. Customer service claims a broken blade is normal wear tear - not covered under warranty. WHY? This is SHAM company with a pretty name. Poor quality goods, poor service and no regard for customer satisfaction. I have supplied photos and enough evidence to Breville - giving me a typical run around terms/policy, etc.

Worked well but plastic construction is a health and safety concern! – Worked well - powerful, convenient with lots of attachments. But, opinion has been marred by realizing that over some time, the mixer attachment had been stripping little specks of cranberry plastic into our food. A call to their call center led to an unfriendly experience where I was told to pay for a new attachment and that was it. I'm… Read more

told this is a consumable. I beg to differ when I see a clear health and safety issue here and a company I own a (admittedly small) part of simply dismissing its role as a corporate citizen!

Sure, its just a stick mixer and an attachment but I'm disappointed!

Fantastic kitchen appliance – Our last Breville stick mixer lasted 20 years, but the blades had started to dull. I replaced it with the Control Grip which I got from Big W for just $88. It powers through pea soup in half the time of the old one. Just out of interest I threw in big lumps of smoked ham, and it broke that up in no time too. The whisk is a great attachment and… Read more

whips cream in seconds. Great for getting egg whites stiff (for meringues). I wouldn't use it on anything you wouldn't use a hand whisk, or you'll end up with a broken whisk. This appliance feels solidly built as do all the attachments that come with it. Powerful, fast and well made. Inexpensive as well.

Beware most parts not covered under warranty!!!! – I use this appliance occasionally, mainly for chopping herbs and spices in the chopping bowl. I noticed today that bits of plastic have come away from the spindle holding the chopping blade. In effect, this means that my family has been ingesting minute particles of pulverized plastic. As I have only had the the appliance for less than a year, I… Read more

rang Breville to enquire about repairs or replacement under warranty. I was told that the chopping blade was "a consumable" and as such was not covered under warranty. Breville seems to believe that bits of plastic coming off their product into my food is "fair wear and tear"!

I didn't agree. I said that this was an issue of quality and safety and as such, is covered under the Australian Consumer Law.

After a bit of tooing and froing, Breville has now agreed to replace the part under warranty.

I note that another consumer on this forum has had to deal with the same issue. There is clearly a problem with the design and build of this appliance. Do not buy one. It looks nice. Poor quality and lousy warranty.

Poor – I purchased the Breville BSB510 12 months ago and this is my review of this product. Yesterday I was making around 150g of peanut butter with it. (Adding peanut oil to peanuts), like I had around half a dozen times before. As I was making it, I heard a loud noise. I stopped mixing, looked inside - the blade inside had snapped off entirely.… Read more

I rang the Breville call centre who said it would cost me $60 + $11 postage and handling to replace this part. The unit in its entirety cost me $89.95 new. The call centre worker said that the blade is considered "consumable", not covered under any warranty and it snapping off is "expected behaviour".

My advice is to avoid this cheap manufacturer. You can find a better quality product from practically anywhere. You really can't do worse than this unit.

Their warranty breaches consumer law. I have lodged a complaint with the ACCC to investigate, and I encourage others with similar issues to do the same. They don't care about us individually, but if multiple people lodge ACCC complaints about their poor manufacturing and illegal warranties they must take notice. It used to work. Expensive. Poor manufacturing. Poor warranty. Poor customer service. Avoid.

I can't cook without it – After reading the reviews on here. I went and bought one. I have been using it for 2 months. Minimum 3 times a week. I can't praise it enough. It replaced my mini chopper, blender, and hand whisk. It created extra cupboard space. I used it to puree baby food soup dressing cakes and chopped up garlic and ginger. I wanted a Grey and white… Read more ·  1

one featured on this site but they said it's old stock and I have to pay $20 extra and have a red one. I hate the colour. Everything is the same except the colour so I feel it's a rip off. Well I love it anyway. It's super easy to clean and I use all the attachments. I wish it has a hook so i can hang it on my kitchen wall as I use it all the time. powerful multifunction easy to clean compact colour and no hook

Soooo Happy! – This product is far superior to my Braun stick blender that died a little while ago, although that one was probably over 15 years old and so would have been well and truly superseded. The Breville product is quite weighty which I equate to being high quality. It has a whisking attachment which comes in very handy when making creamy sauces. I… Read more

really like the fact that it has a separate chopping bowl too which is great for making pesto and chopping nuts etc. The large jug with non slip collar is great for blending larger quantities too. I have a Breville Ikon Food Processor for the big jobs and this one is of the same top quality - I love it! Good pricing. Durable. Lots of uses. Doesn't suck onto the bottom of the bowl. The only thing I can think of is that the blades are a bit fiddly to clean, but really no big deal.

Very useful! – This is a great product for a Mum. I use it everyday to whip up a quick yoghurt and banana smoothie for my toddler because it's so easy to grab out of the cupboard and clean afterwards. I also use it quite often for soups and they turn out very smooth. Have also used it to make a quick pesto. I would definitely recommend this (and am about to buy… Read more

Best stick mixer I've ever had! – Love this! I've had it for 9 months now and use it all the time, it lives up to the high demand It's put on (Making baby food, blitzing everything you could imagine for stews, soups, etc etc) love, love it! It's much better than I expected, and relatively inexpensive to boot. Reliable, Very efficient  Show 2 replies

Great stick mixer – This is probably the best, if not, one of the best stick mixers available in the market at the moment. It is very easy to assemble and use, and has lots of power to do almost any job, not to mention blades that can easily crush ice cubes. The trigger switch works wonderfully, allowing you to control the blending power used. I have had this… Read more
