Good product – Once you learn how to use it is a great little fryer. The double fried chips came out a bit too crispy. However, chicken was cooked to perfection! So far so good. I like the digital display and it is easy to chose between options on the menu. The filter seems like it doesn't need changing. I like how the bit where the oil goes is separate to the rest of the equipment so can be removed and put in the dishwasher. The basket is also easy to wash. A great product but it does need a great deal of oil. This is the only drawback I can think of.

Ordinary – I've had a few over the years and this is very ordinary. The lid design catches condensation and drips down the side. The handles and control panel get covered in oil mist and the stupid thing turns itself off while its being used. Has ruined quite a few meals by turning itself off, no alarm to inform the user that it is powering down. Look elsewhere, this thing is rubbish.

Excellent – This is my first deep fryer, purchased five months ago as I had no existing means of deep frying food. It is one of numerous Breville products in our kitchen and I liked the digital display and pre-set settings and other controls. It has cooked everything I have thrown at it without a hiccup, with fried ice cream easily being the favourite. My brother's girlfriend is a chef and she has used mine and now wants the same herself.

I'm the clean-it-every-time-and-put-it-away-in-the-box kinda guy, so it takes a little bit to clean, but it all comes apart and goes back together easily enough.

Definitely gets the thumbs up. Design, capacity, features, quality. Can be a bit of a pain to clean but I guess that comes with owning a deep fryer.

I find this too slow and a general pain in the derriere.I had a deep fryer years ago that had an insert for deep frying & if you took this out you could just cook normally in the base.It was about forty years ago so I don't suppose I could find similar now.
