Canon IXUS II

Excellent – I have now had this camera for 3 years. I bought it to take photographs for my work. It has gotten an enormous amount of use. I have taken care of it but not fastidiously. It has sat in my jeans or jacket pocket a few times and has never missed a beat. The only minor thing that went wrong is the little spring on the battery door somehow stopped working so the door opens without tension. It closes OK and apart from the poor feel when it is being opened there are no problems.

A few weeks after I bought this camera I was using it in Japan and visited a Tokyo designers night. I saw a museum of modern Japanese art and it had a Canon Ixus camera on display. That's how iconic it is.

While the camera has been superseded as my main work camera I still use it and intend to keep it.

I give it my highest recommendation. Lovely iconic design, beautiful build quality, solid metal body, great lens, bright and clear LCD, very easy to use, extremely reliable, nice pictures and great software Nothing except for the 2x zoom
