Pros: Great big clear screen, large optical zoom. Decent quality photos. Great quality video much better than 600 and 700 series Canan video cameras. Especially visible in low light. Long long battery life with an optional BP-535 battery.
Cons: Widescreen 16:9 is simply a cropped 4:3 image. Also when in 16:9 ratio the image is stretched across the 4:3 LCD screen & viewfinder. My camera makes a whiring noise from the tape unit which is captured on the microphone during quiet recordings
Overall: As I take all my video in 16:9 ratio I find it too limited as mentioned above and will be upgrading to a true widescreen camera and will make sure that the tape unit has no back ground noise. Ideadly I am looking for a DV camera that will record to a 2.5" HDD. May wait and see as 1" units are already available.
