Pros: None that another cheaper brand can't offer
Cons: Costs to much to fix.
Overall: Well, were do I start. I just simply say that it is a piece of s**t. We bought ours around Christmas 2004 and didn't get to use it that much. When it broke the Cannon people told us that it's not worth fixing.

Pros: Light and compact yet seems fairly sturdy. 16:9 widescreen and the ability to take still shots off of footage. Easy to operate with adequate features for the price.
Cons: Doesn't come in black. Can create a mess with hand/shoulder straps when using USB and AV ports etc.
Overall: A great camera for the price. Some very useable technology and functions. The fact that it is a quality still camera is a huge bonus and can be used to produce great photos. Should be able to get it in black though.

Pros: Small, light, fast startup, great quality images, doubles as a digital still camera, 16:9 widescreen aspect, great value bundled software, image stabilizer makes steady shooting natural. Lots of good things about this camera.
Cons: lens flare when pointed into a strong light source, such as a window or sky, digital effects not straight forward to use, no titling capabilities.
Overall: Great camera, easy to use for the main functions, some of the more advanced functions not so easy. Very light and nice to hold. Good bundled software for viewing and movie editing. Wide screen recording is a bonus on this price level camera. Very good quality recording results.
Digital still pictures are excellent quality; plenty enough for standard 6 X 4 prints. I added a 1Gb SD memory card; holds in excess of 650 images.
Not much bad can be said. Highly recommended.
