Canon PowerShot A430

Good – We used the camera consistently, but not heaps as we had another digital camera as well. The camera lens got stuck in the out position and would not retract when turned off, so that was the end of the camera. My wife bought the same camera for her parents about a year or two ago. Theirs is still working fine. Camera seemed to take good pictures and was easy enough to use. Camera screen was difficult to see in daylight. Took a while for the camera to reset after taking a photo, so had to wait a while before another photo could be taken.
Good – I received this camera as a birthday present and found it quite enjoyable to use. The picture quality is high in good light, although it struggles with low light conditions. The controls on the back on the camera are arranged in a logical layout and are comfortable to use. The menus are standard Canon fair and it's easy to navigate through the different menus. As my first camera, it took a while to find the right settings for taking good quality shoots. However, it was great camera to learn on and made it a lot easier to get started straight away when I used other Canon compact cameras. Solid construction, good value for money A bit bulky for putting in your pocket
Excellent – overall, it is a great camera with a very cheap price and i highly recommend it to everybody! You should definitely get it! Great pictures, nice lcd screen and playback, good features nothing bad about it
OK – For a first time camera I believe the Canon PowerShot is just great as it is easy to use and easy to understand. This camera gives off wonderful shots and I would recommend it to someone just starting out with a camera or even a younger person learning to use a camera. The photos I have taken of my grandchildren are just great and I wouldn't be without my camera. Quite a simple inexpensive camera for when you are just learning. I personally believe any digital camera is not great with people who wear glasses, as I personally have trouble seeing.
