Canon PowerShot A720 IS

Excellent – A brilliant little thing this camera. It's got all the features you'd expect and more. The manual setting options are good for people interested in photography, the auto settings produce beautiful pictures for those who like to point and shoot. This is one of the better compacts that I've used over the years. For its price, the features it offers are unbelievable. Picture quality is good, and its 6x optical zoom is good enough for casual photography. What I like most about it is the fact that it allows you to take pictures in full manual mode. The image stabilizer works brilliantly, and its autofocus capabilities are good. Two AA batteries take a seemingly infinite number of photos. In a time where cameras are getting smaller and smaller, its nice to have a camera that you can grip properly. Nothing personally, but if you're the kind of person who wants a tiny camera or one that comes in a vast array of colors, then this probably isn't for you.
