Good – I am very happy with my A85. I mostly use it on the "P" setting and I am rarely disappointed with the image results. It is a easy camera to use with the controls and menus well designed. I use it with 4 x AA Maha Powerex 2500mA NiMH batteries charged by a Maha C204W charger from www.nznature.co.nz, and this camera just keeps going shot after shot. I love the swivel LCD screen. This has enabled me to get some unusual angle shots without too much effort. Pity the screen is so small. I always take my images on the largest resolution setting (4MP). You can always take pixels out later, but you can never put them back in. Best to insert the memory card and leave it in there. The cheap and flimsy feel to the memory card door cannot be ignored. Opening and shutting this door too often is going to end in tears. At higher ISO settings, images can get unacceptable noise (grainy in old film speak). To avoid disappointment, do not set your expectations too high in this area. Overall, I like this camera very much and after thousands of images, it is still going strong. For a good point and shoot compact digital camera, you cannot go too much wrong with a Canon. Swivel LCD screen. Can take pictures high or low without too much trouble. Takes 4 x AA NiMH rechargable batteries that take 500+ shots. Full manual controls for the more experienced user. Solid build high quality feel. Great for indoor shooting. Auto or (P)rogram for fast easy shooting with great exposure results. Good value for money. Takes images just as good as more expensive DSLR cameras. Small LCD screen. Zoom only 3x. Low power flash. Video resolution too small. No USB 2.0 for faster uploads to computer. Cheal feel memory door. Too much noise on higher ISO settings.
