Pros: Great photo definition, quality lens and camera
Cons: Very disappointed to see dust work its way into the lens. Unable to fix lens because it's hermetically sealed (how did the dust get it?). Cost of new lens only $200 less than whole new camera.
Overall: 'Hermetically sealed' lens should not be affected by dust. Nice balance both physically and photographically. Colour of photos excellent, automatic focus works well. Pre set settings (sport, landscape, portrait, automatic) work well. JPG software in camera provides decent compression and photographic quality, RAW compatible. Menu's intuitive. Battery life good. Instruction manual thorough. Plenty for the enthusiast.
Overall: i like photography. May be if i use canon pro 1 digital camera, result of the photo is very good. i like black colour, so this camera is compatible for me.
Overall: great camera with heaps of functions. Canon is well in front of there competition they have much better quality for the same number of meg pixels . Thats number of dots to an inch or cm the more dots the better the photo. This camera is great
Pros: Super macro is something to be seen to be believed. Anyone who says they are getting to much noise in their pictures is obviously not using this camera correctly. High and vivid settings gives extraordinary pictures that can be toned on the computer. Software is very good especially zoom browser.
Cons: Don't accidentaly switch it on whilst it is still in the case. Lens will come out sufficiently to strain against case and damage motor. Turn off camera when not in use otherwise auto focus AF will drain battery.
Overall: An excellent camera that does all things required of it. Read the manual for best results and clear definition pictures. Video still insertion outshines DV.
Enlarge to A3 Plus with confidence.
Overall: THE GOOD: I can't stop saying how awesome the picture quality is. The L lens really does make a difference! It's also great for macro ... it's super macro mode gets you even closer shots!
THE BAD: Rather slow focus but you can always use manual with a twist of the ring.
OVERALL: This is the second camera I bought after using Powershot S1 IS. What a big difference it was ... I mean ... BIG. In a positive way of course. The Pro 1 has to be the best prosumer camera out there. I bought this camera after a canoeing mishap that took my S1 IS into the water with me and was too costly to repair. I decided to go for the Pro 1 at the time because I wasn't ready for an SLR and it came with features that were important to me - swivel lcd screen, movie mode, etc. And I never regretted it! The L lens really captures amazing quality photos. I now own a digital SLR but refuse to part with this one, so it's always with me as a backup. I highly recommend this camera to anyone who is ready to move on from a low-end consumer camera but still feels uncertain about SLR cameras. You won't be disappointed at what it has to offer you.
Pros: Nice on the grip, not slippery on the hands. Looks bulky in design, yet very lightweight and compact as you touch. Has an onboard image processor (DiGiC) that help make images clearer to shot. Very good resolutions too, at 235,000 pixels. If you need to take shots remotely, use the supplied IR control included.
Cons: I don't know why your images produce noise, they could fix something about this. It usually happens during ISO 100 and up. In relation to this, there's no live histogram to view review your shots. The battery's worse even. Power draining devices such as an 8MP+ camera like this needs alot of memory.
Overall: Already Canon users should be familiar with the camera's design, as well those who have window shopped at stores and online. Resolution is superbly great, has a good quality.
